In an effort to show WotC that I care about the future of Maure Castle, I have posted a new thread on WotC Greyahwk 4e boards asking for more Maure Castle content either as a 4e hardcover or at least as addtional instalments with their Digital Initative. I know that there are other fans of MC out there, I think we need to let WotC hear our collective voices so that the proverbial sqeaky wheel gets the oil!Join me Pazionians for what else do we have left to lose?

it would seem that the "cr" column is missing from the "a weakened prince" sidebar in the last adventure.

what are the modified challenge ratings for demogorgon? i would assume that they are reduced from 33 by a number equal to the number of negative levels he receives, but you know what they say about assuming...

i'm almost finished reading through the STAP for the first time, and i'm really enjoying it. you guys did an outstanding job :-)

one thing that i'm struck by is the multitude of very difficult diplomacy checks needed along the way.

example: the dc 50 check needed when speaking with orcus. if the party fails, their champion must face a dc 22 battle alone! harsh!

i guess it makes sense in the storyline (orcus shouldn't be easy to convince to help against demogorgon... or anytime else). but a party without a specialized diplomat could be screwed. was this intentional?

We'd love to do something like that, but unfortunately Maure Castle is owned lock, stock, and barrel by Wizards of the Coast, so its fate is tied up with them. I'm hoping they find a way to work with Rob within the context of their new Digital Initiative. We'd be interested in licensing a book of old and new Maure Castle levels from Wizards, but they don't seem to be in any hurry to work with us right now, so we're basically moving on to other things.

Rob's true mega-dungeon, El Raja Key (upon which Maure Castle is in some ways based) remains Rob's property, however, and readers shouldn't be surprised to see the locale pop up somewhere on the map of Golarion (the castle moves from world to world, leaving behind a copy of itself each time).

At some point I fully expect to work with Rob on publishing that mega-dungeon as a huge project, but that's a very work-intensive, very difficult task to write and to publish, so don't expect anything soon.

Rob and I plan to meet at Gen Con to discuss this and other opportunities, however, so the future may be very bright indeed.

Did you try opening the individual miniatures and then clicking on the picture to enlarge it? That is the way to get the largest sized picture that we have of each miniature. If you did that and it isn't good enough for you, I can't help you since that is the largest sized picture that Wizards has made available for us.

You could treat it as an always-on False Life item. I think the default DMG price for that is 12K GP, but I have no immediate intuition about whether that's reasonable.

i've created an item exactly like this.

Ring of Vitality- +13 hit points. Value- 12,000 gp.

(note: functions as always-on False Life at caster level 3, thus the 13 hit points and [2*3*2000] price).

for the final issue of dungeon magazine, make it another 4-level maure castle spectacular!!!

if i'm not mistaken, uncle has 4 more levels done (reliquary, outer sanctum, family crypts, and warlock's walk), and hey, if you've got to end dungeon, might as well go out with a bang, right? and remember, dungeon #112 (the other all-maure issue) sold very well.

in a campaign a few years ago, i was playing a wizard/druid/mystic theurge. my character was pretty weak, and when we found a blue dragon, i didn't have much that could affect it. so i took a chance and cast summon monster ii, summoning a celestial giant bee :-)

in just a few rounds, the bee rolled 2 natural 20's, hitting the dragon twice! he didn't do any damage (because of damage reduction), but he hit the dragon!

from then on, people would say "where's the bee?" or "time to summon the bee!" :-)

i am VERY glad that you chose to update maure castle instead of expedition to the barrier peaks. ettbp doesn't interest me at all, and i am very very happy with the maure castle levels printed so far.

I talked about this with another buddy of mine who has been dming for at least a decade more than me and he suggested the following conversion for Baba Yaga: Druid2/Wiz5/Mystic Theurge10/Loremaster10. I can see the reasoning behind the levels of druid but in the adventure module (The Dancing Hut of Baba Yaga), it states that she can turn undead as well as casting divine spells as a 12th level cleric. So I thought the following conversion would make more sense: Clr2/Wiz5/Mystic Theurge10/Loremaster10. We both agreed that her bonus feat from her levels in Wizard would be Brew Potions.

I´m just not sure which way to go yet but if I know they´re putting out an *official* 3.5 update of Baba...

hmmm... well i was basing my version on dragon magazine #83, where i don't believe she had cleric abilities; just druid.

after playing with the idea of giving her loremaster levels (or bard, even) i skipped it and just gave her ranks in lots of knowledge skills. seems ok to me.

btw, as a wiz7/drd3/mys7/arch4 her caster level is 18 for wizard, and 10 for druid.

oh hell, i should just post her entire stat block, hehe.
