Moving: Moving out of a threatened square usually provokes attacks of opportunity from threatening opponents. There are two common methods of avoiding such an attack—the 5-foot step and the withdraw action.

Performing a Distracting Act: Some actions, when performed in a threatened square, provoke attacks of opportunity as you divert your attention from the battle. Table: Actions in Combat notes many of the actions that provoke attacks of opportunity.

Each time an opponent in your threatened area performs an action that grants an AOO, you get an AOO (if you have any AOOs left).

On your question about firing arrows - If the opponent makes two ranged attacks in your threatened area, one for each arrow, you get two AOOs.

No you get one, because it's a single full attack action, and each opponent only gets one AOO per opportunity.

So, in your opinion, the "given opportunity" is the full attack action?

We're just rebooting the campaing after almost 3 years, at the start of Broken Moon. Of the original party composition only two characters survived the battle at Schloss Caromarc.

LG Human Paladin of Iomedae
CG Human Evoker

The new members are:
LN Human Fighter
NG Human Ranger
NG Human Inquisitor of Pharasma

Let's hope they have a better chance than the original party (although I don't think so..)

Having returned to the game after 3 years (give or take) I have to remember a lot of stuff!

The question is regarding attacks of opportunity and the feat Combat Reflexes. The rules clearly state "If you have the Combat Reflexes feat, you can add your Dexterity modifier to the number of attacks of opportunity you can make in a round. This feat does not let you make more than one attack for a given opportunity, but if the same opponent provokes two attacks of opportunity from you, you could make two separate attacks of opportunity (since each one represents a different opportunity)."

So what exactly constitutes a "given opportunity"? Does a character with combat reflexes makes two attacks of opportunity in the same round, against the same opponent who fires two arrows?

Great job Steev42! I've already ran Curse of the Crimson Throne in 3.5, but I'm now thinking of running it for a new group using pathfinder rules. So your conversions are invaluable! Thanks!!

I've ran this module in 3.5 about a year ago. It was great, although a bit tough. Now for your questions:

1) We didn't level up during the adventure since it all happens during one night.

2) I used the NPCs to help my players during battles. I think it makes sense for everyone to contribute, since they are all in a dire situtation together.

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Maps, Pathfinder Accessories Subscriber

Just a few thoughts on the modules I've ran or played:

Tomb of the Iron Medusa: An excellent module featuring interesting combats and a rich backstory. Well done!

No Response From Deepmar: Couldn't find anything interesting in this module. Especially the story seemed bland..

Crypt of the Everflame: A tough dungeon-crawl, not ideal for inexperienced players.

Masks of the Living God: A great module not for combat-oriented players. Really enjoyed it!

Fangwood Keep: Played it recently, and had fun with it.

An entirely good-aligned party, nice.

I've yet to get a group who'll do that of their own free will. I look forward to the day it finally happens.

Well it's not entirely free will.. I strictly forbid evil alignments, and I strongly discourage even neutral ones. I like my players to be heroes! As Pendagast says used to be the norm back then.

Max hp for first level, and then roll two die and keep the better result.

Back in the days, when I ran this, I created cards with 3 different checks with different DCs. Each card had an easy, a moderate and a hard DC, with different rewards depending on the check. My players had a blast and still remember the chase as one of the memorable moments in our gaming table.

What dartnet ment, from my point of view, is the idea of running only Shattered Star, but in game at the same time as the other three campaigns.

I would wait to read the entire Shattered Star AP before trying something like that, but for now, I think the intention of ths AP is to revisit old locations, meet old friends etc, so your idea kind of ruins this intention.

As a DM: The group is somewhere in the Storval Plataeu (RotR)
As a DM: The group is somewhere in Andoran, helping the new goverment establish control.
As a Player: Somewhere near the Mwangi Expanse, searching for an ancient city.

...because every fight should be played hand to hand. The honorable way!

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Maps, Pathfinder Accessories Subscriber

When we played this final fight, the players won with relative ease. The main reason is she cannot do enough damage to present a serious threat. By the time the players reached the final fight, they all had some way to fly (as expected in these levels).

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Maps, Pathfinder Accessories Subscriber

Ninja would be a good choice. In our game, years ago, we had a female elf rogue who took the mantle of Blackjack.

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Maps, Pathfinder Accessories Subscriber

Depends on party composition. If there is a healer (or two??) you should all concentrate on killing the monsters faster. But when no healers exist and surviving becomes more difficult, you should focus on defending and holding out.

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Maps, Pathfinder Accessories Subscriber

As a DM I forbid conflicting alignments for the PCs. I rarely allow Neutral PCs and never Evil ones. So no PvP ever happens on my table.

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Maps, Pathfinder Accessories Subscriber

Posting only about the APs I've ran as a DM, played as a PC or read:

Shackled City (PC): Flood Season
Rise of the Runelords (DM): Hook Mountain Massacre
Curse of the Crimson Throne (DM): Seven Days to the Grave
Second Darkness (read): Children of the Void
Legace of Fire (read): Howl of the Carrion King
Carrion Crown (read): Trial of the Beast / Haunting of Harrowstone (can't decide between them)

Every wizard/sorcerer/cleric in my campaigns use read magic to identify the scroll. To be exact, they try reading it with Spellcraft, and use read magic when the check fails.

Magic is written in a different notation and no commoner should be able to read it.

There is nothing that prohibits you from ending your movement with a diagonal, as long as you still have "feet of movement" to spend.

Considering the Academae, I'm more inclined towards an alternative explanation. Perhaps they were discovered by some high level wizard of the Academae, one who struck a deal with them never to reveal their true existence in exchange for power.

Just food for thought..

Indeed, favored enemy: humanoid(giant) is a must. I want to make it a prestige class, despite the fact that it is not prestigious - due to the nature of who signs up - because this certain player loves the idea of joining a Golarion-specific prestige class.

Spoiler:
I'll just wait and see the outcome of their visit to HM, and give my players the choice to possibly rebuild the Order.

I was wondering, is there a prestige class for the Order of Black Arrows somewhere? I can't seem to find one.

One of my players is a dwarven ranger eager to join the Black Arrows
