LOL!

Piazo can I have a pretty pony? You'll pay for shipping, right?

improvised weapons deal non-lethal damage and always have a 20/x2 crit range.

For example: a gnomish alchemist has the "throw anything" feat. He gracefully convinces the dumb human barbarian to drop his earth-breaker and let the gnome have a go at it. The Gnome alchemist chucks the earth-breaker at an unsuspecting goblin 20ft away: 2d6 nonleathal damage w/ -1 for distance and -2 for being a medium sized weapon.

After all that work it's not that big of a pay off.

You're better off using "never caught off guard" with a bluff check to catch them flat footed, or better yet, swing a loaded bear trap at their head.

Clerics RULE, Fighters drool!

Every game I have played that has a cleric at mid level ends up dominating the party. I have had too many GM's complain about my character's power level because I play a well designed cleric. You have the most versatility of any class and if you build a smart spell list can deal with pretty much any situation. Their only downfall is that you can't hit the broad side of a barn at lvl 1, but early on keeping the party alive is a big enough job anyway.
Every group benefits from having a cleric.

One of my players is starting an Oracle who is a member of the Cult of the old Ones. He will be 8th level playing in the Second Darkness adventure path starting with endless night. He is looking for some ideas on weapons. I have given him a few ideas but I'm looking for other people opinions on the matter.

Any ideas on C'thuluean type weapons or gear?
He is an Oracle of Lore.
GP limit is around 18,000.
Thanks

An idea! Have him play a Summoner! While his class would no longer be called "Oracle", that's all semantics anyway. Also Oracle offers almost nothing in the way of actual oracle abilities.

Think about it. In 2 levels he will have access to the ultimate homage to the old ones, tentacles for himself!!! As a reward for his service as herald they send him his own miniature-quasi-real-unspeakable-horror-from-beyond-the-stars which has as many tentacles as the chart allows. He can foretell as much doom as he desires, and now has evidence to the non believers!

Failing that, just give him a pistol. Lovecraftian "hero's" did enjoy using pistols.

LOL! I forgot about the old pistole`

He could have it as an Heirloom weapon too!

Gnomes are very near and dear to my heart so let me bring a few thoughts to the table:

It's Gnomish so it has to do some crazy/convoluted thing that is not easily mimicked in the game like shoot 5 arrows at a -5 to hit or some things of this nature.

Gnomes love flexible use so maybe it can be used to brace a door or acts as a vaulters pole giving a bonus to jump.

With gnomes you've really got to think outside the box. If it can be compared to anything in the core book it's not gnomish enough.

Maybe it has fold out panels that provide light cover while he's firing or can be converted into a small crane arm that can multiply the wielders strength for lifting.

The key is versatility and, lets face it, creative rediculousness.

Good luck

Agreed! Great fun.
Nobody died or went crazy (thanks to some cursed dice) but I did get to plug Haberdash my bloodhound Ol' Yeller style for going rabid on the lady. James is a master of the creepy.

Thanks
