Can the Alchemist Building create magical Weapons and Armor or is it limited to Alchemical items?

Thanks

The major, minor, etc. items you roll up can have any value.

So in a town with a 2,000 base value, the players have a 75% chance to find a cloak of resistance +1 for sale, but can’t ordinarily buy a cloak of resistance +2. But if you rolled a cloak of resistance +2 as one of the items for sale in that town, the players can buy it.

Thank you Emmit!

Hi everyone

I am a little confused about the base value of a settlement and why we roll magic items for a settlement....

The RAW...

Base Value: The base value of a settlement is used to determine what magic items may easily be purchased there. There is a 75% chance that any item of that value or lower can be found for sale in the settlement with little effort. The base value of a new settlement is 0 gp. Certain buildings (such as a Market or Tavern) increase a settlement’s base value. A settlement’s base value can never increase above the values listed in Table 4–5: Settlement Size and Base Value (except under special circumstances decided by the GM).

If this is true, what the heck is the point of rolling for magic items for settlement as you have a 75% chance to find what you are looking for anyway!!!! Is the magic item roll just to cover the 25% failure chance????

Can someone please explain the difference between the 75% chance based on your base value and the need to roll the magic item for a settlement?

Thanks in advance for your help everyone

Hey everyone

So we had an issue tonight, and my gut says it was wrong, but i would like to hear some other opinons...the issue....

The party entered a wine cellar that contained a wererat (and unknown to the group it's still human child.)

The paladin sensed evil and yes the wererat was lawful evil, but the wererat asked the group to leave its den multiple times as the party moved up to it.

The paladin moved up to the wererat and started attacking.

After the first round, the wererat asked the party to leave again and the paladin attacked a final time and killed the wererat.

To me this in itself is an evil act on the paladins part. The wererat did not attack even once, it asked multiple times to be left alone (knowing its child was there) and the paladin wailed away anyway.

What are your thoughts? Is this what a paladin (or even just a LG pc) character embodies?

Slaughter of a creature that will not defend itself?

In my opinioon there was little difference between the paladin slughtering the wererat or a CE npc slughtering a good character.

No difference?

My son is a 2 weapon ftr and he is 7th level and just took his second level of fighter. He gets a feat.

He wants to save it until 8th when he can buy improved 2 wpn fighting.

Is this allowed? Do you have to spend feats right away?

Thanks everyone this clears it all up.

I appreciate everyones help ahve a great day.

Hi everyone

My son is playing a rogue and i thought we had both figured out sneak attack but reading through here i am starting to think we are wrong.

When you sneak attack and you have say 2 primary attacks and 1 off hand do you get all 3 attacks as sneak attacks?

What is confusing me is a couple of things from the players guide.

1. It says you get sneak attacks when your opponent is flat footed or flanked.

On the first round of initiative if my son has the better iniitiative i assume all 3 attacks work because the enemey is flatfooted UNTIL his turn, yet i read somewhere james said only the first attack is flat footed then the person knows about the other person, yet i can find this nowhere in the books? I took it as being until you get your intitaive your are flatfooted.

Flanked
My son has 2 other fighters in the group and he is always trying to flank and do sneak attacks. Does he get all 3 or just 1?

Very confused.

My players are saying that they can cast detect magic and they will be able to detect and npc who cast invisibility on themselves.

Is this correct? Can a 0 level cantrip cancel out invis?
