***This is an unofficial answer, but I think it it right***

You do not need to report the pre-gens, and it is still a legit game. At least, that's how I was told to do it at Paizocon and Josh didn't yell at me or send me an e-mail telling me I screwed up.

Have those pre-gen folks make really real characters soon! Pathfinder Society must grow!!

And yet I walked away with a prize and you didn't. It's not quite a zero-sum game, but you got zero and I got sum free Paizo goodies!

My personal favorite is actually The Exorcist III. Everyone touts the original, but I like the third one. George C. Scott deserved an Academy Award every time he tied his shoes, not to mention when he actually appeared in a film. The Exorcist III is no different--his performance, while not the best of his career, is still spot-on.

Didn't do well at the box office (probably because of that absolute piece of crap that was The Exorcist II,) but The Exorcist III is my favorite horror movie evaaaaar.

Faction mission idea
Cheliax kikai13 (Pathfinder Chronicles Charter Superscriber; GameMastery Superscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber),

Kullen avatar

A combination of the above ideas would be cool, too. Use red herrings occasionally (but not in every scenario) and also have a set of standing orders. That way, a situation could result where only one of the two faction missions is real, and to complete the second faction mission the PC would have to fall back on his standing orders.

I like both ideas on their own as well!

Potential change to scenarios--GMs, what do you think?
Cheliax kikai13 (Pathfinder Chronicles Charter Superscriber; GameMastery Superscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber),

Kullen avatar

I agree with Doug Doug. The second person narrative is fine, and in some cases even helpful. I typically hate second person (when Thomas Harris adds second person passages to his stories it makes me want to vomit day-glo.) However, in Society context I think second person makes it easier for the GM to jump the characters into the middle of the action. Also, as someone who works almost 60 hours a week, I like that I can grab a scenario, read it once, and be able to run it competently without having to "wing" the intro.

So here's an interesting little conundrum...
Cheliax kikai13 (Pathfinder Chronicles Charter Superscriber; GameMastery Superscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber),

Kullen avatar

So are you wanting to attack with the shield and then use FOB with your other hand and feet, head, etc. all in the same round? Or do you just want to have the shield there for defense?

So here's an interesting little conundrum...
Cheliax kikai13 (Pathfinder Chronicles Charter Superscriber; GameMastery Superscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber),

Kullen avatar

It is still somewhat unclear to me what exactly you are wanting to do. Why does it matter to you if you can use the two together--what is the end result you want for your character? Letting us know that might aid in getting a proper response to your question.

I'm having a bit of a problem when reporting sessions. If I run a new session using an old scenario that I have run before, and add myself to the end of the session sheet, it says that all prestige points are null because I have run the scenario before. It also blocks all prestige to all of the new players. Am I not reporting correctly?

Played in my first Society game tonight using Pathfinder rules! It rocked, well except when in combat and I never rolled above an 8... but that was just bad dice luck.

Playing a Chelaxian Cleric of Abadar with the Earth and Travel domains. Come to a place and get hit with Entangle. I manage to break the Entangle and pop my Agile Feet Domain power and fly across the terrain with no problem at all. It was awesome.

The Acid Dart would have been useful had I rolled above an 8...

Healing Burst was a big hit.

All in all the new version was a BLAST to play. Makes me realize that 3.5 was fun, but Pathfinder is AWESOME!

I was sorry to hear about your driving thing falling through, but look on the bright side--

You get to play with us again tomorrow night!!!!

Did I mention that Chelaxian Clerics rock? Too bad you only worship Abadar, not Asmodeus. Oh, well. You will probably come around sooner or later. If I can make a Gnome Druid see the light of Asmodeus in the span of five minutes, I think I can bring your character into the fold eventually...

And, of course, Congratulations to Paizo on making THE MOST IMPORTANT advancement to gaming that I have seen in my humble 28 years of playing. You guys really are the best.

Off Thursday, because it is my normal day off. Earlier in the day I plan to help some folks convert their Society characters to the Pathfinder rules, and I'll be running a Society game Thursday night. I have to work again on Saturday, but I will be attending GarageCon (a convention for folks in Columbia, Missouri who have to work at times that make it impossible to attend GenCon)and running another Society Scenario after work. We may also have an informal Grand Melee similar to that of PaizoCon on Sunday.

Can't be in Indy, but we have lots of gaming goodness going on in Columbia!

Good evening, Mr. Frost.

I would like to say kudos to you on the magnificent document that is Pathfinder Society 2.0. I am eagerly anticipating running and playing in Year One. Thank you for all of your hard work.

If you have a moment, I was hoping you could answer a couple of questions for me.

First, how will the GMs report which character will be receiving the experience point, money, and prestige point from the session? Will the reporting software change on Thursday, or are we just to add our character in on the bottom?

Second, after running a session or two, which session sheets will we be able to purchase special items from? Will we only have the last three that we played available, or will we be able to choose items from the last three that we played or ran?

Thank you in advance for your answers, and I hope you have a good time at GenCon (wish I could be there to help run a few games!)

Sorry for the threadjack, btw. It is good to know that you will soon start playing in the Society. I have found from my personal experiences that it is not so terrible to be a little behind in power while playing the games. For the first eleven months of year zero, I only ran games. Meanwhile, my first level cleric remained, well, first level. I have only recently had the opportunity to play him, and I am 3-4 levels behind everyone else in the group. However, I keep out of melee, I use diplomacy and intimidation a lot, and I wear very heavy armor--these factors have helped me to stay alive in tier 3 games. It seems that with the gm rewards system, someone who runs 90% of the time will still be able to have a good time when he gets to play. I think it is a fair system--you won't be the most awesome character in the group, but you will still be able to hang with the big boys.

I hope you have fun at GenCon--wish I could be there. Maybe we'll get to meet at Paizocon next year, and it will turn out that we look nothing alike.
