Room #23 (Outer Sanctum) and room # 26 (Inner Sanctum) both have traps that can cause 1d4 wisdom damage. How long does this damage last? I don't see it in the description. It's not permanent is it?

I don't want to sound like a thread crapper but in all honesty I don't really want my son to take up the hobby, I'd rather he be outside playing sports. No, I'm not a self-loather (RPG's are my favorite hobby by far), I just want him to be different than me, that's all.

My wife, for example, has absolutely zero (zilch, zip, no) interest in RPG's and for that, I am thankful. She provides me with a different view of the world instead of seeing everything through a gamers eyes. She keeps my feet firmly on the ground.

Ultimately however, my son is going to decide whether or not he wants to play RPG's. I've never believed you could really convert anyone into the hobby. You are either wired to like it or you're not.

I'd like to second the motion. In fact I'd like to request more frequent articles as well. One every four issues in not enough. One every other issue is more to my liking. I know some may protest and there is the risk of over-saturating the topic but hey, I don't really care what other people think!

One other thing occurred to me. The demonomicon series is good enough to warrant it's own compilation...in a hardback...preferably 400+pages...with maps..full color...lavishly illustrated...

I drool just thinking about it. of course it wont happen for another year or two, if ever. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

Gary has agreed to "start thinking" about a new Gord story for Dragon. I'd quite like to publish one.

Interesting. Didn't Gord end up as a god? The Cat Lord if I'm not mistaken. I think he's written up in the back of the Epic Level Handbook.

A question for the powers that be:

Any chance we could get write-ups on the iconic characters we see in the illustrations of the magazine. For the write ups to make sense they would each need at least three descriptions, one for each low, medium and high level adventures.

How 'bout it?

More art is always better. Love what you've done with the column and with the magazine in general. Keep up the good work!

Just my two cents:

If you are looking to use it with D&D 3.0 or above then I recommend you get the BoVD and the Book of Fiends. They actually don't overlap much at all and complement each other perfectly. All the Demon, Devil and Daemon information you could ever want.

As far as the actual planes then yes, you should consider the Planar Handbook first and the Manual of the Planes second. Both are good but they will provide you with a LOT of information not having anything to do with the lower planes.

For older material it's hard to beat the planescape supplements but some of that has been reprinted in later books. Dragon Magazine had the original articles way back in the 80's great stuff but not as well developed as the current material. Also the original Manual of the Planes for 1st (or was it 2nd edition?) was fairly informative.

Like I said, forget all the old material. Stick with the new stuff. Look for review of the Book of Fiends on ENWorld. I think you will be impressed.

Frush O'Suggill, I did a little dance in the shop when i read that name. Very first Character I ever played in AD&D (He was a pre-generated PC in G1-3 Against the Giants, as I'm sure lot of you know). It's little nod's to the past like that, that make me all warm and fuzzy inside. Bring on the rest of the gang, Fonkin, Roaky, Faffle, Beek et al as well. I'd Love to see what the old crew are upto these days.

When you say Beek are you refering to Beek Gwenders of Croodle (I think that was his name), the Half-Elf Ranger pregen from against the giants? That was my first character and a large part of why I love rangers so much. Does he show up anywhere? What ever happened to him?

I just had to write and thank the fine folks at Dungeon for giving us this added bonus in the latest issue. I don't know why it never occurred to me before but it makes perfect sense to do a write-up of a city and include it in the magazine. After all isn't a city the perfect place to set an adventure?

As if this weren't enough, we also get the first of a three-part adventure arc set in the city of Istivin. Brilliant! The last adventure path series was a bit long for my taste but this mini-maxi adventure is perfect.

Thanks for thinking outside the box. I hope you continue to feature these adventure locals and expand the idea to include other settlements, territories and planes.

Lot's of great comments. I'll keep mine short.

1) I must agree that the new magazine logos stink. Bring back the old.

2) I'm all for Erol Otus but if I never see another Elmore or Easley piece it will be too soon. There is something to be said about moving on and getting some fresh talent. Otherwise you run the risk of making the game look stale.

3) One issue that has hardly come up at all is the elimination of all the text on the cover of the magazines. I can understand keeping the name of the magazine but all the rest can go. Some magazines print all that on the plastic sleeve the magazine comes in. How about trying that?

I just wanted to thank the fine people at Dungeon and to Tim Hitchcock in particular for this fine adventure. No only do we finally see psionics used in an adventure but Githyanki as well as they were always meant to be used, with psionics! As if that weren't enough it happens to be a great, albeit short, adventure.

Thanks again and I hope you continue to throw us psionics lovers a bone every now and then.

Just my opinion:

The white space sucks. I want to see more artwork.

The Buyers Guide is a tremendous waste of space. 17 pages of extra advertising. I know it helps your bottom line but it's completely useless to me.

Samurai vs. Knight. Who the hell cares? How often does this question even come up? How is this even relevant to D&D? What a waste.

I'm OK with the rest of the mag but really, you have be more selective about the content. I've always been a big supporter of both Dragon and Dungeon but this issue in particular was a bit dissapointing.

I'm a big fan of both Dragon and Dungeon magazines. One of the many reasons is the fantastic artwork that graces the pages. Any chance we could get an art gallery of the artwork presented on the website? WotC does it for their D20 products and it comes in handy during a game. I thought the artwork in both your magazines could also use some additional exposure. I don't know if you own the rights to the pieces or if this is even possible but it's sad to think that all this wonderful artwork is only seen in one issue of the magazine and then sits in a hardrive somewhere for years (ever?). Perhaps getting the artists permission and giving them a credit on the website might convince them to allow posting the pieces.

Just an idea.
