Never mind, I saw it in my sidecart and pushed it out by hand as order 4137053

Hopefully this is a cool way to do it.

I got the second email that this order got moved back into the sidecart because I had this set to hold with the next shipment.

I just wanted to say that I actually have it set to ship immediately, so I just wanted to make sure that this order is set to actually go off immediately.

Please let me know?

Thanks so much, and happy thanksgiving!

Two questions:

As it stands now, will there be a December RPG subscription?

Also, with the Minis case order, it comes with the incentives, right? I don't have to add them separately?

Thanks and Happy Halloween!

I'm running Returned to Sky as an interlude during Chapter three.

Rather than having the PFS macguffin (avoiding spoilers here) be the thing at the end of the module that the heroes are looking for be a cache of technological weapons and other interesting items that the heroes use against the Technic League...but that seems rather mundane. Does anyone have any better ideas?

Can I suggest a hydra? The two Wizards Hydras are stupid expensive. I would love to see an affordable one (relatively)

Name:Kasatha
Race: Kasahtha Paladin 6
Adventure: Lords of Rust
Location: 2nd Level of the Excavator
Catalyst: Numerian Fluids.
The Gory Details: The heroes saw a pool of fluids and made a pact that everyone would try it. First the Dwarf Fighter drank some and withstood both saves like a champ. The Paladin tried next, failed both saves hard, and rolled a 9 on the Fluids table, and his guts melted into a puddle around his ankles, and died outright from multiple negative stats. Not surprisingly, no one else drank after that.

I have tied quests to hero backgrounds as well.

I have a druid who took the Against the Technic League trait. Her parents were killed by one of the major Technic League antagonists when they were younger, she just doesn't know it yet.

I also had a character who was a paladin of Brigh, which didn't quite match his alignment, so I was going to have him be courted by Bharnarol, with the goal of having them create something like a Holy Avenger-like weapon to be used against the BBEG. Sadly he just died to Numerian Fluids.

He's thinking about playing one of the NPCs from module two (strangely enough, the Xill), since he has a feud with some barbarians, seems to me he's about to get a visit in coming months.

Finally, I have an Android Psychic, and I have Meyanda having some sort of relationship with him from their past lives (mostly impressions and flashes of memory). It will turn out that the Psychic effects will come from Dominion influence, something that will probably come out in a later module.

Glad you had a good time jhallum! To touch on this, since I was the department head in charge of data entry, let me be 100% clear in that our intention was not to make anyone feel bad about their reporting sheet. The reason why GMs need to hang for a bit after dropping them off is, as you say, to verify that they're filled in correctly. If they aren't (and there are quite a bit that aren't), they can become impossible to correct if the GM has walked away.

Here are errors I saw: no prestige, no GM # or name, no scenario title, no success conditions, incorrect society numbers (7 digits long), duplicate characters (12345-1 & 12345-2). Some of these issues are correctable on our end, involving us to do some digging and figure out who GM'd what and get back in contact with them.

And with that being said, there are a lot of sessions to report.

We currently have 1,344 reported sessions for GenCon this year, with another ~150 or so that Todd has to do. So given that is easily 20+ hours of reporting, we can't be pausing all the time to track down GMs and fix errors. Which is why we catch you at the table. Also, some errors are not fixable by us: such as no GM# or GM name. Therefore, if we just let GMs leave after dropping them off we physically cannot correct some

...

Thanks for the response! You guys really have a ton to do, and I do really appreciate the double check, in adverse circumstances, even.

And I know you personally helped us get seated with our buddy as GM at least once, which we definitely appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks guys,

I had a great time this year, I had nothing but great people at all of my tables, and I liked the fact that I only had a single module to prepare, even though I was scheduled to run it five times, it really allowed me to make my sessions better.

I initially felt great trepidation about the extra break, but I gotta say, it was pretty nice to be able to go away for lunch for an extra hour, really reduced a lot of stress for me.

One minor issue I'd like to see changed is perhaps a little different phrasing from the HQ staff on some requests. I know you guys are stressed constantly moving, and busy as hell, but could you folks phrase requests with some different language? There were several times when I or one of my colleagues would hand in a reporting sheet, and the answer was, in many cases: "Wait, I won't release you until I verify that this is correct", which made some of my colleagues feel very negative about running future games, as they are also feeling stressed out themselves (especially after some of the more complex modules). I'm sure there are better ways to relay information than that.

The Thursday and Friday night specials from the gamer side of the table seemed really overly long, and somewhat complex to run, both of my GMs had a rough time with it (and they were both people known to me, and I'm confident of their ability). There wasn't a lot of forgiving parts of them, if you took too long in certain parts, you might be boned because you run out of time somewhere else...

Thank you again for a great weekend, hope to be back next year!

Played this at a local game day yesterday with my Investigator (Empiricist), who is a skill monkey machine. I had no idea what i was getting into, and it was a blast. It's nice to see the Intrigue Rules get play, it's giving me ideas for the home game.

There were five of us at the table, and between myself and a Bard, we pretty much learned everything there was to learn, though we had huge problems with the fights (our three combat characters couldn't make a save, or not take damage). With no cleric, we had multiple characters drop over the course of the game.

Thankfully, when we targetted the big bad at the oasis and took her down (with one down unconscious, and the other in the negatives), we were able to trigger the end of the encounter, and still save the docs.

I totally enjoyed it, I'd be happy to run it someday.

(Edit: I know you guys have been good about this in the past, just wondering if there was a day we could expect it specifically?)

Am I correct in ruling that if I have a caster that casts heat metal on a construct with the robot subtype that it would affect the construct only after the construct makes a saving throw? Also, the damage from heat metal would be reduced by the hardness of the robot?

Also a bit of a maps question: How did everyone physically get the Desert Habitat onto a map/table? I'm counting it as 40" and I don't know any maps that go that big.

I'm starting the campaign in a few weeks, and fully expect my players to get to the habitat pretty quickly.

I put the western half on a drawn map, and then just drew the eastern doorway on another. Since the skeletons will be drawn to the heroes when they encounter the first one, and my heroes weren't very stealthy, I knew I was going to have that fight right at the western entrance, which is exactly what happened.

Now that oil is a quarter of the cost it once was, does this mean that cost of plastic will go down, at least a little, and maybe the cost of minis will come down a bit? I know that the cost of minis is far more than just the cost of one component, but I am just a little curious...

This spell is some brutal business. Make an opponent repeat their action for the next two rounds (no save), or be confused if they can't do their last action.

The psychic in my game used this on my spellcasting BBEG for the first book of an AP, and effectively locked it down for the combat, after it cast a spell, she was out for two rounds. Since Lesser Confusion requires at least a save for the same level, why doesn't this?

Thanks for the advice in this thread, we are starting WotR tomorrow, most of us only having played around with the first base scenario, and not won yet, I was wondering if we were just not getting something...sounds like it's also pretty hard. I'll try starting with the first AP scenario and going from there...

Here's my party going through Iron Gods:

Ukko: Android Psychic, he's emotionless, but he has the ability to read other people's emotions, so he's trying to learn by observation. He's a resident of Torch and was an apprentice (and a subject of) Khonnir Baine.

Dubhvina: human female druid. Also a ward of Baine, her parents were killed by the Technic League.

Flint Westwing: Taciturn strix techslinger, who is on the lookout for some technological gear. Has an unfortunate habit of saying things like "Do you feel lucky punk? Well do ya?" and "I know what you're thinking. 'Did he fire six shots or only five'? Well to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, i kind of lost track myself."

Salaud le Batard: ratfolk rogue/wizard/technomancer, Itinerant ratfolk who was rescued a few years ago by Dubhvina and looking to pay her back for the privilege. He's got an ungodly high Know(Eng) score, having learned from every tech researcher in Torch.

Kasatha: male Kasatha Paladin of Brigh, and opponent of the Technic League. Advocate for the ethical research, like most of that NOT done by the Technic League. After they entered the ruins of the Hab module, he feels like this is heaven on earth.

Mawuwo: dwarf fighter. He has a bit of a speech impediment, not unlike Kripke from Big Bang Theory. Has a tendency of a weak stomach as he continously throws up after climbing through the tainted water of the pond at the base of Black Hill.

Has anyone else noticed how much gold is going out to the players? How has this effected your games?

I wasn't worried until one of my players took a craft feat and now I fear they'll funnel all of their gold into crafting big 6 items instead of paying for "overpriced" tech items.

I have six players, so I really haven't noticed as of yet. It's still early for my guys, they just found and cracked open the big cache on Level 2, so they are just riding high on their first influx of tech gear.

I made a mis order here. Can you cancel this order before it gets too far along? My apologies, I thought I was ordering Wrath #4, and I didn't notice that it was Skull #4 until I placed the order. I've already made a different order for Wrath #4 in a separate order, so cancelling this will be just fine.

I have a 25 point buy party, and we had one person get permanently blinded by the Blindhelm (actually a crit card from the deck, not from the eyes), and we also had a PC go -9 from Hetuath.

Should be interesting, I want them to have the fear of god a little bit, they have been walking through our other campaign (homebrew way of the wicked), so I want some stress. :-D

Liberty's Edge

Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber; Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Maps, Modules, Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I would also be careful with the Blindhelm, which is probably the fourth encounter they will face.

I had half the party blinded out, and then some lucky crits almost landed a character in the deadpool (as it is, thanks to the Crit cards, he was permanently blinded and at 2 hp). And this is 6 characters @ 25 pts. A 15 point buy character would have had a bad day...

I think the big occult links could be played out with ghosts from the folks long dead. Maybe remove a couple of robots and replace them with haunts and phantasms of the original crew. Give hints to the horror of the Dominon of the Black, and nurture that mystery through to somewhere in Valley.

I think when you get to Valley of the Brain Collectors, you could link the Lovecraftian aspects of the module to the occult aspects you've emphasized. I have a psychic in my game too, and I think he's going to have a sanity shock coming to him in that module, more so than in others...

My feedback in short: The modules I played/run were really really busy. Loved the prep around things, getting players to my table/getting to a table were both awesome, but I went up to/over the line in every module I played/run. I ran 5 and played 4.

I played the Thursday and Friday specials: and I found them extremely rough. I played Thursday night with a bunch of casual gamers, figuring that slowing the module down a little compared to past games might make it more enjoyable: nope. GMs had to prep a TON of encounters and even those that were prepared (like our GM) were really having a hard time keeping up with things that were going on. We weren't particularly slow, but I felt like we were constantly racing, and never got time to look around and figure anything out.

I'm a lore/exploratory guy, and there was literally nothing for me to do, it seemed. No exposition, no talking, just ran from encounter to encounter.

Friday night:

Same problem, except I played with friends, and a GM I'm friends with. Same sort of problems, except we raced through things because of how badass our gunslinger was, and we still didn't get through anything.

In short:

Both specials seemed really really busy. That being said, the plots that they did have were quite creative, I just felt it was too much.

We couldn't hear a thing in the corners of the room during the specials either. Luckily we could read things, but it was hard during the announcements to catch anything.
As a GM:

I enjoyed everything I ran, people got to my tables fast, and I had a lot of great players, even when I really was not at my best (I'm looking at you, Saturday afternoon 6-22). 6-22 has a lot going on, I went right up to 4 hours 45 minutes both times with it, but we got through it.

The pregen specials were fantastic. I had mostly engaging and enthustiastic tables, and the plots had plenty of pop which allowed people to get into them easily. Most players loved them (I think I had one who didn't Sunday morning).

In short: the con staff was fantastic. This was my first year at Gen Con as a GM, and I loved it. I will do it again next year as I had a great time (maybe I'll spread out my games though, running three in a day is HARD)!

I played From Under Ice at Scotty's on Wednesday and Andrew Hoskins (its author) did a great job. He literally had the best terrain I've ever had the opportunity to play a game on. He also got called out during the Saturday special for having great terrain and from my one experience he definitely deserves it. He also really got into the characters and did an awesome job RP'ing for us.

We had him on Friday morning, and he suffered nobly through the first play through of our four half-orc triplets. If Andrew reads this: the terrain was amazing, you did a great job, we had a great time, and we loved the scenario. As I said afterward, I'm playing this one here soon!

So I rewrote Davashuum completely, because I wasn't really happy with the old 3.5 version of him. I also have three half orcs, two of which who do a million damage, so I wanted to try something different.

I wanted to see if the Flowing Monk would give him a fighting chance against the two burly half orcs, and surprisingly, it did, it took them right out of the fight. Unfortunately, the archer, even only hitting once or twice a round finished him off, though it was cool to see him redirect the orcs attacks into each other. That was a lot of damage that was taken. I ran out of feats, so I couldn't use Deflect Arrows, I'm still kind of bummed by that, I think it would have been more challenging.

Getting ready to run the retaking of Kelmarane here, and there's a couple of points I'm confused on:

1. Exactly how many Janni Captains are in the postern gate? The text says six, then three, then 5.

2. How many rolls does each PC make for the massive battle setpiece? I assume 4, right?

1. I had five, three in the tower with the Efreet and two on the balcony.

2. I had the PCs make four rolls.

Hi guys,

Am I correct in assuming that my currently pending order #2404425 is one of the laggards in this month subscription shipments, or is there another reason it's been delayed?

Bummer! I'm in the same boat as the OP. Thanks for the heads up, kind of a bummer though, was hoping to have the pdfs to read on my cruise, sadly not going to happen, alas.
