As for your very own kingdom, with all those mountains, its just destined to become a kobold empire. 20 million+ strong, all descended from 1000 colonists :D
All in a mere decade..

Neandertals too, right there at the centre of the island, encounter 12. ;)
And the mean lizardmen that raid them.. from 50KM away lol

Several dragons, and ents aswell.
Nor to forget rocs.. i know everyone wants a 1/2dragon roc for steed ;)
And Kobolds need dragons, being without dragons around makes us so sad :(
Would have to import a few otherwise..

Since the island is far away, and largely underdeveloped: 2100 villagers and maybe similar amounts of neandertals and phanatons, neither of which does naval.

Anyway, what is there to plunder?

Sure if placed in the realms.. somewhere SSW of Chult.. NWW of the corsair domains of zakhara, there would be potential trade -south faeurun-zakhara to plunder, but relatively far away still.

Sure pirates can travel, and a secret port on a island "noone else" has ever heard about -ie safe from authorities, is nice. A bit extortion/trade with the natives, 2 glass pearls for every real pearl, should pay off nicely aswell for said pirates :D

So there is hope for a workable model. Atleast if it isnt too far away, just a few months travel or so to more used waterways

Anyway, thoughts?

In january still 215 Lbs.. and a pudgy waist. Then i got this gymcard for christmas... and now about 187 Lbs, leaner and a damn lot stronger.
Went as low as 177 Lbs before laying on mnore weight, arms getting thicker and such nice details. Oh and body does some funny teen-things. As if 15 yo again.. 28 now, meaning beyond that 24-25 when the body goes downhills hard.

Feels great!
Could at best, when younger as a conscript, do 12 pullups.. 3 in january.. 24 are standard today :D
And every intention of going for 50, one day.. ;)

well, 2nd ed had the problem of a world that couldnt exist under its own rules for one thing. Such as where do those swords +1 come from if crafting them drains a wizard of 1 irreplacable con point?

Which in turn was finally covered by s special spell allowing you to drain others... but yeah.. not something for anyone but the worst monsters around, not to forget how this opens up the path to magic factories massproducing artifacts when no investment of your own is needed. Heck, you gained xp from crafting items.. :D

Oh and plenty of "no, you cannot do this, its impossible. Yes built by the ancients and noone can repeat it"

Still, it was faster to whip up a new charcter, roll the stats and chose a class and thats almost it. Skills paid no meaningful part, and no feats.
Multiclassing for humans was `tarded, and demihumans couldnt go beyond level 8-15 depending upon class and race.

I suppose i could say good riddance.

Aquire the saint template, turn level 20 as a paladin... and then, turning into a blackguard 21, saintly still no doubt :D
If you play your cards well, you might even manage a deathknight template on top of everything..

ps how is saving level 1 (presumably) innocents better than saving companions? If nothing else the companions atleast should have the ability to mass-resurect.
Not to mention betraying a bond of trust sends one directly to the deepest of hell!

with the right companions a stiffupperlipp paladin should do well, just slay all wannabe allies and interrogate them for their stories, simulcras/ice_assassin should do well indeed!

I mean, how better to take down demogorgon than going for a bt negotiatopn to orcus.. slay orcus, ice_assassin him & take controll of his armies, repeat for grazzt and finally for demogorgon himself!

And once you are done you can always have your simulcras force their abyssal hordes to become nice, plant flowers and such :D

Looking over the map.. admittedly x-translated more than once, it comes at 450km high and some 250km wide, the size of some empires.

Or enough for 300 domains as specified in the green book.. which with imported (fast breeding) goblins ensured a income enough to equip armies and fleets of ridiculus sizes.. iirc we got to 10 million soldiers, 120.000 ships and 600Million gp/month in income before realising it was a bit silly ;)

Ahwell, have fun creting your empires.. im sure someone will import a few thousand kobolds(no doubt the fastest breeders this time around)..becoming 100 million in just a few decades the island is afterall almost more mountains than jungle.. and after draining the swamps excellent farming areas, never forgetting tar pits.. or the fact of coral reefs and pearls and FISH! Or actually sea-snakes.. seemed far more common :D
All the while worshipping the few dragons around, and wondering what to do with those dinos.. probly domesticated, riding & work..

That is if the island survives, and isnt sucked into the abyss ;)

sounds good.. and im sure some laidback player will see no conflict of intrest in joining say: "local pirates of the bloody skull", "cult of black scrolls", "moonstars" and "cult of the dragon".
Yes, all at the same time..

rationalising it like this: two are basically about gathering information, one demands faith in dragons ruling all and one more for local pirating. Heck, all those pirates would likely be better of serving dragons too :D

Btw.. why sit on ships?
I mean you would no doubt be forced to in the beginning.. levels 1-3, but later when you start hitting 13+, ill be damned if i dont build some type of underwater ability...

As in perhaps a waterelemental suit.. wearable for all kinds of nice abilities, while breathing water.
Besides, no doubt a majority will be spent on the island exploring ever deeper inland?

Not to mention the kopru, ill bet those will be back.. at that point you will be glad you had some way to go below the waves.

And endless looting if one doesent mind the demonskulls and such on all the equipment ;)

All kinds of items/buildings erected for area control... and hauling off the natives into painracks to fuel them.

Oh, and no doubt turning all the demonlords onto eachother.. getting not just a complete kill.. but heres the killing line: turn them all into full simulcras and ruling all 5 realms as the supreme suzerain!

well the demonic influence... and the fact that its water based, well, THE DEMON WING, is just unavoidable!
