err.. earth already has elephants without the need for superlarge dung beetles..
one more reason to have simulcras in a bag, really useful for such stuff.. even better in this case with a 1/2 fiend mindflayer simulcra ofcourse, should leave Ely with a permanent headache :D
ah yes, great place.. heheh
Now off for another snack at that restaurant, the ogre place.. :D
Yummy, rare steaks :D
err.. zombie wont quite cover it..
Simulcra would to a lot better, lol
Ps i bet they will kill rowyn too in due time.
..so how exactly to get them either to scuttlecove or abyss?
I suppose you can use their obvious pride, ie a message from vanthus "you yellow-face-pussies wont dare to come fight me at scuttlecove, you guys suckk!!"
And then a message at his room there, "hahah, you are so pwned! Now im off to demogorgon, and he'll own your sorry asses. You really suck deep"
And in pure rage theyll do as they are supposed to, rather than motivated from the need to help their fair lady ;)
rogue/warlock
or rogue/sorcerer
LemOrians?
Sure that shouldnt be LemUrians??
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemuria_%28continent%29
especially the "Madame Blavatsky's Lemuria" -part ;)
ahhem..
"...Lemuria respectively) are presented as dinosaur-infested lands."
Well, be it as it may, the warlock is already hell bent on creating a vril-ya under the isle, and a "black sun" of sorts to grant eternal power. So i guess it all goes well in hand with the late 19th c style ... mythology, exploration and naturalism ;)
no prob, add one to the colony... some old library a old wizard wanted to build but died of heart attack before arriving..
otoh as a golem immune to the backstab and similar attacks buccaneers and pirates rely upon ;)
Remains to be seen.
not bad.. but stuffing is less than half the job of barding.
You do many of the similar things, with the exception of not having to pay for the leather.. and no need to cut it up either.
Hay otoh is cheap.. glass-eyes maybe less so, but ill be damned if those cost more than 3 silver a piece.. ;)
70 gold, and takes two weeks (or if rushed, 150gp and 4 days..basically dropping all else).
Just a guess ;)
gee.. feed it that prissy noble with warhorse :D
Noone will miss him, lol
Hello tribe, i worship the god of fire.
Now you will all worship HIM too.
Now who is the first brave **** to say no? -steps forward ... FLAMESTRIKE ..tribe watches as the ashes blow away.
Now anyone else having problems? :D
Get yourself a ring of sustenance.. ;)
Do awaken.. and convince it a "vop" is a good idea :D
..fear the awakened NG Trex VOP saint..
well, thats just the colony.
I bet the island has both lizardmen, neandertals.. and a bunch of other natives.. in addition to just plain humans. All eagerly waiting for a 12+ level cleric to show them the one true GOD!
..flamestrike im sure will be very helpful in motivating them.. lol
..and building it onto one gigantic temple... and offering healing only to the true believers :D
A bit "spread disease" might help there.. lol
And soon enough everyone is a faithful :D
trap the soul.. have it sacrificed in some unrecoverable way?
I bet someone will try, and keep a wish or something with a automatic reverse time ready.. lol ;)
A F1/W3/Ur2/Mth8 should have some pretty innovative solutions at hand for storing magically powered up beasts.
Even more so for a warlock.. being practically freed from all considerations of caster level and known spells ;)

"fetch tree!" -Roarrr!! Please no! I have too much to deal with them. Hahaha. Well you cannot hide all the dinos on the island.. LOL!
Chances are theyll go out at on a point or another to fetch a few.. if only to eat invading pirates ;)

And when there is the carcass of a Tyrannosaurus lieing on the beach stinking to high heaven, the Mesozoic versions of hyenas, jackals, and vultures start coming out of the woodwork.
Sounds like a good time to skeedaddle.
Atleast that one team that handled the masher, will love to handle & train their own t-rex.. maybe even train it to work, how to fell trees and carry them to the ship..
"fetch tree!" -Roarrr!!
and 200 kobolds.. i dare not think the thought.
What other creature works double shifts as a standard option, while breeding super-fast...?
An agreement quickly reached by offering that gnome as sacrifice, and promising to bring a dragon to them..
Arranging the expedition should be doable in 2 months, which would be when the players could stiff up their cheaply bought real estate..
ps, wouldnt this be precisely what rowyn is up to?
Spread a bit crime.. make life there intolerable, while earning a bit.
Then buying the whole area... and voila, the crime problem is gone and prices skyrocket! ;)
ahha! Buy up the crackshacks, then cleanse them ,and set up a high rise area.. lol
Good example being some areas where the houses and everything could be bought for $5000, getting half a town worth of that.. tearing it all down and setting up a area selling at $500.000/house! (-80.000 for building it)
Coming to think of it, isnt that precisely what adventurers should be doing? Cleaning out evil so that decent taxpayers can move in.. if they profit from that, well, thats just the due award from gaining levels..
yup.. that tactic is so ultimately nasty.. LOL!
So few characters come out alive from that.. a monk or rogue might do it (climbing up), but others?
Well a warlock might try blasting the shark aswell.. but a sorc of wiz trying to fireball it. Ouch..
hmm.. what could that next path be then.
going arctic, vikings attacking? Except theres something thats driving them, which is a great evil..
hmm.. half fiends?
Sounds like something to put up as evidence for the grandfather in the brotherhood, once the players start nearing a final lethal strike on the pirates.
Then getting like a hundred level 6 monks for a attack to destroy those misgenisating pirates :D
The suel race must remain pure from fiendish influences.. heheh
the original island had blacks, greens and reds.
Maybe a gold can be added who is watching them..
Or why not use that elven organization for the scarlet brotherhood? Perhaps operating under the pretense of just protecting the wilds... while the annihilation of man (and goblin & orc etc) -kind being their ultimate goal!
3?
Just 2 really..!!!
Instead try figuring out how to build a palace on the island of dread with stonewall spells :D (preferably thru some -at will, item).
Or perhaps by summoning a few dao.. Even make those water breathing and build a new island, with reefs etc..
well atleast its not warhammer and sickle.. lol

What city do you live in? I live in Denver where there are many great book and game shops but I had to resort to ebay for those Dungeon Mags not in my collection. It does suck though when I do find an issue for half cover price in the shop several months after paying a fortune for it on ebay!
Helsinki, in Finland.
But coming in january to san antonio to see a very good friend of mine, staying with her the whole month :)
To be frank a major issue was the whole sharing with polyhedron, and the just one or two adventures. All the while wasting (yes thats how i feel, confrontational or not) half the magazine on some silly beach game or whatnot.
I very much stopped biuying the magazine due to that. I mean shelling the full price for one or two that might not even fit any campaign at the moment.. gave that good old "damn ive been cheated" ripping feeling in my stomach. A feeling im sure most are familliar with, and that keeps you from going anywhere close by for a good long time!
Came back really around the second half of worms, and found the path so intresting i bought whatever i could find on it. Later did my best to hunt missing shackled magazines too.

Might be something new.. dunno, haven seen 141 yet ;)
..ah so just hangarounds so far.. with time prospects, before meeting actual bik.. err.. pirate club members :D
Arent crimson fleet captains supposed to have red eyes, or is the info from dragon wrong o the fleet? Or isnt she perhaps a captain yet..
hehhe, such happens. No doubt after a bit playtesting and editing ;)
Afterall we have heard that several encounters were removed.
Jib wrote: What about "Indentured Servants"?
Not slaves. Debters working off money owed? Former crimminals trying to pay for past crimes?
They get paid a silver a day for their work, while paying a gold a day in rent for their cage, another 2 gold for their manacles and finally 3 golds for the food they eatt daily.
Thus their debt is increasing by 5 gold 9 silver every day :D
Infact they are so badly in debt that they are now working just to free them of their debt.. while paying that same rent. lol
Or a dragon turtle from below.. breathing a hole in the hull..
But thats just nasty.
throw them off the ship by a freak wave.. but the ship making it safely home?
or then maybe really skip whole or a portion of the forth adventure if they are high level anyway...
EDIT: but arriving safely, and weeks ahead of schedule, why not go for a bit exploring.. still much unknown about the isle.. and voila part 4 happens. sort of.
all this without the players heading for some extra gladiator fun at the arena..
I have a distinct feeling one player having a Feral Orc Barbarian, might go for some solo butchery. (fast healing + being fast = infinite hp -lol- )
"yeah went for some extra fun for the evening, and now im level 8.. you all are still level 2?". Ofcourse the arena shoulnt have more available than one fight a evening..
but as a group some may choose to join.. shouldnt they be rather like good guys with a twist of nastiness?
Always loved spelljammer for those "random encounters" -type adventures. This one seems very similar :)
Now letsee whats in the horizon..
Still i suspect that the players, being paranoid bastards, will suspect all kinds of ills from atleast someone in the crew and begin interrogations even before anything has happened.. lol!
LadyBard wrote: A shot in the dark but you could use Morning Glory from the Libris Mortis ? Lol, that name always brings something else to mind ;)
Morning Glory
Fleet movements, both sasserine navy and the crimson fleet.. details on the spies and informers the pirates have inserted into every level of the sasserine society, and their rapports?
and some 3d6 for the damage ... and a bit depending on the speed, maybe drowning. It might easily be 5 min below water ...
And then theres a colonial manor to consider aswell on the isle ;)
then let me recommend forcewallplating the underside before heading into the abyss ... id hate being chewed into from below ;)
In addition to placing some kewl waterelemental summoning runes, as "traps" beneath that forcewall. Potentially maintaining dozens of waterelementals patrolling below the ship!
A bit like that last adventure path ... some of the pcs will be desperate for lichdom to escape a otherwise inevitable infection :D
Besides, lichdom is good, you dont die even if you die. No need 6to roll up new charcaters...
Maybe a dragon or two are amongst the allies you will be gathering later?
Last i checked the island had some black, green and reds. A golden clan (2 mature adult & 6 kids of various ages) dedicated to Io wouldnt hurt either, their main task being to make sure the cromatics dont missbehave too much.. and punish them when they do.
Certainly a few black ones could do awesome damage from underwater :D
hey they boarded us.. let them eat this fireball
..what do you mean our ship is burning? :D
hmmm.. i like cancer mages :D
Withe festering rage on top, no doubt.
