This has the potential to be a good campaign setting using the d20 system unfortunately not only have they goofed up on the classes such that only by comparing the stock characters for the little scenario at the back of the book do you realise they haven't properly designed the book. Best I can tell all Star Fleet characters start off with Simple Weapons and Personal weapons with a host of other feats they just couldn't be bothered to explain properly.
I'm hoping they'll bring out the d6 version soon so we can overlook this problem.
