There was a D&D novel or series that had a dude that was reincarnated as a badger in it but I can't remember the name of it.

I gamed with a dude that was obsessed with trying to play as a dog wizard but just couldn't get the DM to go for it.
I personally don't like the idea because it really strains my ability to become immersed in the story, but that's just me.

I can see that it may be hard, but isn't Narnia filled with talking animals.

Do you use the Noble Wild rules or something else?

I just purchased Noble Wild and I really like the Greater Familiar class. I thought it would be fun to have a major NPC or a reincarnated PC return as a squirrel or something.

I don't really want to be a familiar, do you have to be or is it just one way to go with the idea?

Here's a link to a game for all you Watership Down/Duncton Tales/Redwall(?) fans out there...

Tales from the Wood.

Not played it myself, so don't know how well it works, but I bookmarked it out of curiosity.

It could make a good introductory game for younger players, to join in with parents.

Do you know of any free ones that out-line animals using the D20 System?

Play an animal as a PC? I am a huge fan of talking animals in movies, books and on TV. I kind of always wanted to play an animal as a pc, but the group I play with is sort of anti-that idea as a whole. So maybe I could, any stories or ideas?

Sounds Andoran what do the rest of you think?

What about Taldor?

Cause I am picturing this guy with a thick french accent dressed all in red with a cape and mask. wielding a rapier and throwing daggers and calling himself the Oisseau Rouge. Jumping from a rooftop to stop robbers from mugging a damsel, or being the one person willing to charge the dragon screaming for Gods and country!

Cpt_kirstov wrote:

Where does he live (which forest)? What is his class?

Not sure which forests cause i do not know alot about Golarion, as far as class goes ranger maybe rogue.

What type of political views, (this is the main part) I don't see gnomes wanting to rule by $ so no Quardia...

Picture the political views of a robin hood or a Scarlet Pumpernil or maybe even that guy from v for vendetta.

Question: Is there a different build of the gnome in the Gazetter/Campaign setting?

5. Gnomes talk funny. Most gnomes have some kind of unique quirk that humans consider speech impediments. Some have lisps, some stutter, some are unusually loud, and many are high-pitched and just a little... off.

Jeff, can we start a Golarion game? I wanna play a gnome. A gnome rogue that talk increadibly loud.

"What did everyone roll on their stealth checks?"
"I ROLLED A 4! DID YOU HEAR ME? I SAID I ROLLED A 4!"

FREAKING GNOMELARIOUS!!! I literally am in my office and laughed out loud at this post!

So I think I signed up to my faction too fast, and want to register a new character and play him instead. No Big deal right?

Wrong, I do not want to make the same mistake again so I am asking you what you think. I do not have the campaign setting, and currently cannot afford such luxuries. So help a guy out. I will tell you the concept, and you tell me the class and faction.

Growing up in the forest our young hero saw many of his family members become complacent, and succumb to the bleaching (sorry only heard of this, he is a gnome) he saw members of his family become grey and simply fade into a boring existence. He would not succumb.

Instead he would explore the world by joing the PFS, so he could travel and delve for treasures and Right the wrongs of those who preyed on the weak. He seeks adventure he seeks action and excitement. I see him in a long cape with a rapier and mask. adventuring in the cities, and stealing from the rich and robbers to give to local charities. When he goes adventuring out, and about he would always have a cause in mind.

HE see all these things as the ultimate in adventure, and he knows as many gnomes do that it will keep him from having to the bleaching, and why not do some good deads in the process.

His story may need help as well, what do you think?

I want to update this original request. I now have every other Wednesday or one Sunday a month I can play. I would like to play PFS or star wars..anyone interested?

I had to back out of running the PFS, but I'm still interested.

Cool, do I have your E-mail? I am trying to get at least 3 and a DM. Just to run a not so serious, but fun homebrew or something based ona book, or something a little diff than my current wednesday group is doing?

So, I was on the boards looking for a PFS in Chicagoland, and nothing seemed to work out with my Wednesday night limitation. Here is the facts. I am very busy, and Wednesday is my only night to play. My 5 year long game plays every other week, and I would like to fill the other weeks with another game. Anyone interested?

That sounds cool, we should see if joelf wants to play cause he could run, and maybe we could start an e-mail around about it.THoughts?

spamhammer wrote:

I'm interested, and I know a couple other players who might be as well. All are northside Chicago, around the Lincoln Park/Wrigleyville area.

Edit: I could also DM, although it would be my first time doing it for organized play.

That is awesome I live in the Albany Park/Noth Park Uni. area. When can you play or you want to play like once a month, or what are you looking at?

Anyone interested?

Dude, I wanna play in the pathfinder society, and I live in Chicagoland.

Would also consider a star wars game.(new era Ewok Jedi...boo yah!)

What about getting together to play in the pathfinder society?

HEY! Still out here in the chicagoland region looking for PFS is anyone wanting and willing to play. Please.

HEy I appreciate that. I have not heard at all from the other two who said they were in the area, but 2 hours is a hecka long drive.

were are you guys all located, and does anyone DM?

Hey, everybody still looking for a PFS game in the Chicagoland area, anyone interested?

Why 4e. Why?

Go chiefs!

Thank you so much the both of you, I think i am going to have them sign-up for Pathfinder Society, ANd really have some fun logging our adventures through Galorian. Thanks again.

Help me out? I run games for middle schoolers at a school, are the pathfinder society modules PG enough, that we could enter in organized play, and search the world of Golarion without too much anger from parents?

I would really like to play in the PFS. I can play on Wednesday nights when my other group isn't playing (probably once/month).I am still working on my PC, so I have not claimed a faction. Please Reply if you are interested.

I'm in the Chicago suburbs, and am definately looking for PFS games up here - I'm assuming that the awesome game store Games Plus in Mount Prospect, IL will probably get involved with PFS, but that's on the north side, so probably a bit far for players from down state.

I wanna play too I think. I know Joelf, and he rocks as a DM, his GM skills are match only by his cunning achievements as a role player. No, Seriously. However, I drive to the North side of Chitown form elgin can play in the 90 Corridor?

Who needs 4e we have pathfinder! LONG LIVE PATHFINDER!

When will it be available for download 12:01 am when, when? I think we should all have a slumber party around our pcs just waiting for the DL!

That is so good to hear, I am one of those guys who creates characters based on my minis. I have this ranger that has been calling to me for two maybe three years, and this may be the first time i use him. thanks for the input. As far as gaming goes make mine PATHFINDER!

My current campaign has a ranger as the main warrior in the party and he's not showing any signs of being underpowered. In fact, he's quite the bruiser.

Is he using the two weapons fighting style?

How do i get an avatar for my posts?

,and is there any hope for them? You see I woud like to play one, but I feel as though I will be overshadowed by my more powerful teammates.Like an aquaman in a team of SuperMen.

Now there's something to wait for. The text mentions new rules, spells, etc. So this is likely going to support 3.5 rules? I can not wait. Really, I want this now.

Can you get this book now?

6. And this is the real kicker that finally pushed me over the edge -- 4th edition, it turns out, is being printed in the U.S., while Pathfinder is being printed in China. If given a choice, I will support a company which supports American families rather than the People's Liberation Army slave-labor sweatshop factories.

Have fun with Pathfinder.

To be honest, this attitude is what is wrong with the united states of America, and why so many people think we are idiots. Check your shoes check your laptop, and I am pretty sure they are made somewhere else. I just wish this was a real reason instead of something you had to write to show of your ignorance. Then you would probably not be using a computer to annoy the rest of us.

I Just lost another PC at the hands of one of my own party members. I guess i should not have been the good guy in the bad party. So i need to come up with a new character. I was wondering; How do you guys do it? Me personally i need inspiration something to hit me. Otherwise if i just build something i hate playing it. Then on top of that i would just like to ask anybody got any opinions on the best class in Pathfinder?

snappa wrote:
Assuming you guys get the SRD and make the decision to move to 4E, will this be a 4E product?

Why would you even suggest this. Death to 4e products and their tenemants. I am sure we will be warming ourselves with DnD 4e as firewood, while we all gather round to play pathfinder. Pathfinder is pure and beautiful and perfect do not sully it with thought of it having anything to do with 4e it is a system unto it's own and like no other(except 3.5)...so far.

Personaly i love the new iconic the artwork is great and the backstory is pretty good as well.

Can i get some help seeing the artwork? I have only just heard of the iconic, and have not seen it yet..

I have to be honest, this entry seemed great. I think many people have hit it on the head when they have said low level adventurers would love this place. I also imagine a party of adventurers finding this place thinking it is some paradise, and then defending against outside evil, and then... all heck brakes lose as the demons overwhelm them. All around good stuff, for low levels or PG gamers kids got to start the RPG addiction somewhere.
