It’s funny you should say that. Maybe Pru should wear her Tank Top to breakfast in the morning. :D

Yeah I don’t see it as an issue. I hate to use the cliché, but just because you’re a white cop, doesn’t make you a part of that sub culture. There are still plenty of good cops, the same as there are bad cops of other “races”. It shouldn’t have to define who you are as a character.

Finally bloody finished updating Pru’s character sheet!
Haven’t put Mafdet’s stats in yet, but everything else is (hopefully) done.
Included background, description, links to pics of her and her equipment, and some info on some of her abilities for ease of reference.
Took me damn well long enough!

Well, I can work with it. You’d probably come from the other city to the south of Opal, Threepenny Port

I guess it would depend too how far inland we could be venturing. If it’s any more than 10 miles you could be in for a world of hurt.

Prudence smiles at the man. "I don't have a reservation sorry, no. It was really an impromtu trip, and your town looked so nice on my way through that I thought I'd spend some time here."

After a brief exchange between herself and the man, she takes a key from him and heads up the stairs to find her room, Madfdet slinking along in the shadows ahead of her. Nearing the top, she gets a tingling on the back of her neck, similar to what she felt in the diner. Pausing at the top, she has a quick glance behind her to see the artist from the diner at the front desk. "Interesting," she whispers to herself as she turns down the hall towards her room, the cogs already spinning in her head. "Mafdet, could you keep an eye on our friend for me," she says as she reaches her door and inserts the key into the lock. *mwrow* comes the reply, and the small shadow slinks off back towards the lobby.

Sophie pulls a bunch of small vials from one of the smaller pockets of her bag and drinks them one by one before Merle casts her Haste.
Drinks Longshot, Shock Shield, Monstrous Physique I (Harpy), and Invisibility. All last for 9 minutes (Which I'm assuming will be enough for the whole Giant battle... I'm hoping it won't last for longer than 90 Rounds!)

The others see a ghostly shield appear in front of her for a second and then fade, followed by her morphing into a feathered woman with wings, and then fading from view.
While invisible, she will call both Weapons to her hands and then take to the air once the Haste is active. She follows above the others until she hears the Giants call out, and then races forward to begin the initial assault.

Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Full Round Action: Fly 90' to end up in J29 (still invisible)

Sophie spends her downtime sharing firearm knowledge with Blayze, and her travelling time keeping to herself and apparently speaking to the air in a strange, sibilant language. Occasionally Erebus will poke his head out of her shoulder, glare around slit eyed at the brightness, and then retreat back inside her.

She remains quiet, but for introductions, when they have their dealings with Pando, and is glad when they are finally back into darkness, the constant light and positive energy causing her no end of headaches.

"I'm happy to attack under the cover of darkness," she replies at Hamar's assessment of their foes, "although more scouting of other forces would be in order, as I feel that I do tend to prefer louder displays of force." She nods in Blayze's direction and adds, "we tend to prefer louder displays of force."

Just her next victim this time. She still only has eyes for Justin... and Blayze... and maybe Merle... and possibly even Nari and Hamar... ;)

Sophie listens to Lissandra's words carefully and then leans into Justin, pressing her body against him and cupping her hand around his ear.
She breathes softly into his ear and the whispers "I think that the proper papers would be useful. Where I come from, Drow are not usually to be trusted, and having some form of legitimacy may make our job easier."
She pauses, and then once more exhales gently into his ear before continuing. "As far as a guide is concerned... it has both it's positive and negative points. It may be useful so that we don't look like complete amateurs, but could also be used to lead us astray. I think it may be a a good idea, but we should be cautious around them."
She pulls away from him, and he's not quite sure, but he thinks she may have flicked his earlobe with her forked tongue before she did.

Any news on the recent Tor books that have not been released yet as audiobooks?

I really want to listen to the latest HAJ novel.

Same here

Ditto.

I "read" approximately 6 audiobooks for every Dead Tree book these days. I have an hour and a half drive to work every morning, and just over an hour home (variations in traffic), which means I can knock a normal audiobook over in a little over a week. I'd be lucky to get half an hour of actual reading done in a fortnight...

I haven't read an actual PFT book since the audiobooks became available. It has meant that I have been double buying, but it has also meant that I've actually been able to read them, something I'd been struggling with (I had actually missed a few, and had to go back and buy them as audiobooks when they became available much later on). By taking away the audiobooks, it has effectively stopped me from reading the PFT line, to the point where it's kinda not really much use to me in continuing to get them in the dead tree anymore anyway, no matter who you partner with, as they will just sit on the shelf unread (apart from the odd one that I would make a conscious effort to attempt, such as Dave Gross or Chris A. Jackson's). It would actually make it easier for me to do this as well if they continued to be printed in their current format, as I really don't care for it at all. It's hard enough for me to come up with disposable cash to get books these days as it is, and I've only stuck with double buying this long because I like the PFT books and like having Dead Tree versions, even though I don't get to read them anymore. You're kinda just making it easier for me to give up trying altogether, which is sad... :/

What was wrong exactly with the original way of doing it that necessitated the need to partner with TOR?
The problem is that we're fundamentally a game company, not a fiction publisher, and that hurts us a lot when it comes to getting books in stores and marketing them to the public. A big publishing partner offers a lot of benefits: they can negotiate from a place of greater strength with printers/book buyers/etc., they've got a lot more people devoted to marketing, they've got a lot more money to throw around, etc. Even just having a partner helping pay for the production of the books takes a lot of the risk and strain off of us. But the real hope is that by partnering with a big company, we can get the books in front of folks who would otherwise never know about them, and expand the brand beyond just the folks who are already hardcore fans.

That's fair enough, and I figured it would be to do with getting greater distribution. It just kinda sucked that it came at the cost of having an effect on your already established customer base.

I liked the older style of books much more than the TOR books. They fit on my shelves better (I have had to rearrange a bunch of shelves to accommodate the PFT line, and they both look weird on the shelf alongside each other, especially as I order my books according to series, so they are all mismatched in a line), not to mention the fact that they remind me of the old D&D novels. They are also easier to read and carry around on the go. Sounds like I'm just being pedantic, but it does make a huge difference.

I also liked getting the eBook versions as well. I had only availed myself of utilising them in that format a couple of times, but just having the option available was a great thing.
