'lo All. After an unscheduled hiatus last week, once more you can totally ignore the other weekly blog feature over at Mythopoeic Rambling in favour of taig's much more entertaining one. :)
Alrighty, I know taig's been nice enough to link theses for me in the past but I thought I'd throw this one down since it's the last in my Shield Wall series. And if you click on the linky at the bottom that says Sunderday (in purple) then you can see all of my other posts to date.
Mike's work is truly amazing! I eagerly await Fridays as I am always keen to see what monstrous creation he has made out of the random pics we throw at him (and as one who has thrown more than my fair share his way I am super interested to see how his vision take my mundane thoughts for the pic and transforms them into the perfection I've come to expect from him. :D But of course you're quite welcome to stay for the regular blog as well. Mairkurion's occasional insights are worth the wait. :)

Thanks Orthos: :) And I should thank taig for pimping my shields here. I have been remiss in my attendance of FAWTL for a while now but I should really be plugging my work more. :)
Not really my character doing anything for fun, but I had a character (an Azerblood Fighter) once named Jock McStrap. He was a serious character though, just had a strange name... Also, my Magi generally use Arcane Mark when they run out of other spells. It's fun to see all of the dead bodies with my Magi's signature emblazoned on them. :)
Why do I have a picture of Radagast the Brown in my head when I read Ilias' posts... ;)
Is there any word yet on the possibility that this might arrive in enough time to ship before the projected 21st of December date (ie. seperately to my Subscription shipment). It is my Birthday/Christmas present from my parents and since they are already annoyed that they won't have anything physical to give me on my actual Birthday (12th Dec) they are gonna be royally pi$$ed that they now don't have anything to physically give me on Christmas Day as well (and with the regular 2 week wait plus Christmas Delays it's now looking like I'm not going to get this until mid to late January). I must say that asking for that kind of outlay literally a few days before Christmas, especially since the Shattered Star Minis are due out the next month is a massive ask. November was pushing it (it really should have been comissioned a few months earlier so that it hit us midway between the massive dollars of the Rise of the Runelords minis and Christmas) but December is going to be a killer for most people.
My other worry with this estimated ship date is the closeness to Christmas. My orders have gradually been pushed back over the past 6 months so that I often have my stuff shipping on or after the projected "should ship by" date. As an example, November's shipment only just shipped yesterday for me, well into the week after it was projected to have shipped by. All over Facebook I see mesages of Subscribers in the USA already reading their physical copies while I still have yet to get my shipping notification (literally getting it sometimes up to a week after reading those messages). Considering that it takes at least 2 weeks for Subscription shipments to arrive here (I have known non-Subscription orders to take less, but they are few and far between and I've never known a Sub to take less than 2 weeks other than once in the whole time I've been a Subscriber) and the fact that my order might not even leave the warehouse before Christmas the way my orders have been going lately, I honestly have no idea when I might get that shipment (other than my very hopeful estimation of mid to late January). I have previously asked if it is possible for International shipments to be processed first so that everyone will be getting their copies around the same time but it seems that notion has fallen on deaf ears (or my continued asking has been the cause for my gradual bump to further down the line). I have had some issues with the pre-authorisations screwing with the account balance on my Debit Card and slowing the payment down until I can put more funds into the account, but these problems are not my problems (if it was the fact of me not having enough in the account then I can understand that, as I have done in the past) and shouldn't be affecting when my order ships because of something that is out of my control. You can call me a whinger all you want, but it is really annoying to see so many people already reading their copies when I have to make do with the .pdfs for 2-3 weeks. It is really starting to take the shine off that monthly package arriving when I've already read what I wanted to and moved on, many times not even opening the books when they arrive and simply shelving them. Just my 2cp, take it however you want... constructive criticism or cry baby whining. :/

Of course I see what you did there. But since your game is going to be a Sandbox MMO I only highlighted the part that was relevant to your game. OK, so maybe I will be able to go and do a Quest somewhere with my friends or solo. But as BlackUhuru said, "sure you might get killed by a player for one reason or another just like you will be killed by a Abyssal Paragon or Gold Dragon". Of course there's the chance that I'll get killed going to battle that Abyssal Paragon or that Gold Dragon, but that's my choice to go on that Quest fully knowing the danger. It's not however my choice to be attacked by another group for simply wandering through their territory, or because their Assassin's Guild needs to make their quota. That is not my idea of fun. I'm not saying don't include PvP as I know that people out there like it. What I am saying is that PvP needs to be kept to areas where it won't affect the gameplay of those of us who don't enjoy it. Have safe areas, let me simply skip to a Quest from the safe areas without the need to wander through some other group's territory, have in game warnings so I know when I've entered a PvP zone so I can backtrack. From your earlier comments it seems clear that every area (save the training area, which you said is only going to be available for a limited time, and Quests/Missions) is going to be available for PvP. Why do I want to be strolling down the street to go to the tavern and get a knife in my back and bleed out in the street while others simply walk past, hands on their swords praying that doesn't happen to them? I don't want to have to join a larger group to get the full benefit of the game, I want to be able to sit down with a couple of my buds from overseas and play a game, since I can't do that IRL, and still be able to get somewhere in the game.PvP might be fun for some, but isn't fun for all. There needs to be more of a balance than what I'm seeing described.
blackbloodtroll wrote: Is human the best route? Tiefling would give you a way to write of the appearance of the character without resorting to any outside influences (and give you some nice side benefits). Human gives you the extra Feat, which is always nice, but requires more exposition and possible GM Fiat to explain his appearance. IMHO both are viable options and it would come down to which way you and you brother want to go with the character build.

I wanna see Mason get some of these and walk around with a Roc on his arm. No Bandits and Crocodiles would dare attack us then! ;)
We should of course mention that Mike Welham of current RPG Superstar fame is working on this project. So it's worth the price of admission for that reason alone. :)

The Bases may cost cents to produce, but including them in the box means that the size of the box has to double in height. This will add quite a bit to the cost of the product, since boxes are a costly way of packaging. They are trying to keep the cost of the product down for the consumer.
FuelDrop was pretty spot on. I'll give my own thoughts coming from a non-capital city (although as far as it goes we're actually bigger than a couple of them). Some things will differ slightly here from say Sydney (even though here in Newcastle it's our closest major city), but there will also be slight differences from state to state (for instance Woolworths is called Safeway in Victoria). 1. What stores do you have? To be specific, I'd like to know what grocery stores/supermarkets, chain restaurants, gas stations, hardware stores, and such you all shop at, and what your opinions on different companies are.
2. What product brands are popular? What are your opinions on different brand names?
3. Could I get a layman's description of gun laws, how easy it is to get a gun, how many people have guns, and an overview of gun politics? I respectfully request that this question does not turn into a debate on these laws.
4. What animals do you commonly see? For example, I know kangaroos are common in Australia, but how often do you actually see them?
5. What foods are uniquely Australian? What do Australians in general often eat and drink? What brands of alcohol are popular?
6. What is your opinion of the Australian military? Police forces? Government?
7. What do you watch on TV?
8. What are your opinions on some other nations? I'm especially interested in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, South Africa, and New Zealand.
9. Can you describe Australia's relationship with New Zealand in layman's terms, or is it as complicated as I've sometimes heard?
10. How many Australians are anti-immigrant? How vocal are they?
11. What public transportation do you have? How often do you use it?
12. What is the weather usually like where you live? How is it in other areas of the country?
13. How much do you know about aboriginal peoples? How often do they appear in media?
14. What sorts of clothing do you usually wear?
15. Do you often go into the Outback? Do many Australians?
16. What model cars are popular?
17. About how much crime do you have, and what sorts of crime is it?
18. What music is popular? What musicians are from Australia?
Phew! That took me an hour and a half to compile... way longer than I was expecting, but happy to help. :D

There is also the Indian realm of Sri Raji as well if you want to go as far West Asian as that. :) There is also the quite awesome dark setting of Kaidan that you can mine for ideas as well. :)

Can I ask what is stopping you from releasing the non-censored version without the Pathfinder Logo? I've already purchased it, but if it were offered as a non-censored version as well then I would most probably still buy that one too. You could even charge more for it (say $7.99) because it has "adult content" in it. I can't see this affecting your sales at all, since you would actually get some increased money from the people who are willing to buy the adult version. Those people would have bought the regular version anyway and as it's a .pdf it's not like it's taking away from printed copies. Just food for thought...

Then play them together in an Epic Level game... ;) Edit: First we get the Pony. Then we get the Weapon. Then we get the Weemen... |
