It almost sounds like this would make a good sandbox style campaign.

Awesome issue once again Wolfgang. Keep'em coming. :-)

Is the Gary Gygax story part of his Setne Inhetep series? Please tell me yes. :-)

The bestiary entry for devilfish in Pathfinder 7 talks about the great kraken Kaktora and her battle with Dagon. Can anyone give me any more info on these two?

Thanks

As long as there is a subscription option for Pathfinder fiction I'm down with it. ;-)

Good stuff Mike. I look forward to more.

My understanding is that he is the go to person for the wiki project.

I have just received word from Mike McArtor that Wes Schneider has taken over the wiki initiative. I have just written him a letter for assistance with clarifying Paizo's stance on the wiki. I am hopeful that we will soon receive official word and can begin moving forward. This is an exciting project and I am eager to begin in earnest.

Heaven's Agent is right, the wiki will be focusing a bit more on fluff than on crunch. Eventually we will probably add a section for fan-created content and such to add in some original crunch.

Would you mind posting your Iconics reborn stats on the PathfinderWiki? We have a section for Pathfinder system conversions and these would be a great addition.

Hopefully others can use this thread to clarify questions arising in this adventure. If you happen to see another thread, please link post a link in this one to try and keep things tied together.

Chapter 1: Burnt Offerings
Chapter 2: The Skinsaw Murders
Chapter 3: The Hook Mountain Massacre
Chapter 4: Fortress of the Stone Giants
Chapter 5: Sins of the Saviors
Chapter 6: Spires of Xin-Shalast

Would you mind if I compiled your GM Reference threads into a pdf errata document and posted to the PathfinderWiki site?

Are the domain powers supposed to be calculated by character level, class level, or caster level? Reading the descriptions I have seen all 3. It should probably be confines to one single calculation for ease of use.

I really like the flavor of the various domain powers, especially Travel. However, the first level travel ability "Dimensional Hop" is very overpowered when compared to other 1st level domain powers. A 10 ft/caster level swift dimension door is not very comparable when taken in light of the other domain abilities.

My proposal would be to make "Dimensional Hop" the 8th level ability and replace it with perhaps something like this:

Fleetfooted (Su): Your movement speed increases by 5 feet per 3 caster levels. This ability functions only when in light or medium armor or when carrying no more than a medium load.

Thoughts?

Just a brief update on the PathfinderWiki. I've setup a message board to facilitate discussion related to the wiki. You can check it out HERE. I look forward to having a chance to further discuss the design and content of the wiki with you all.

As Salama said, there has been no material from the magazines posted to the Wiki save for the index which is just an index. I have been in contact with Paizo concerning the website, and while I do await final word on content I have been told that the material on the blog and message boards is permissible so long as the source is cited.

Trust me, I do not want to include any material that Paizo does not want me to. However, due to the announcement of Pathfinder RPG and Lisa and Erik's busy schedules I have as of yet not received a final answer.

Thank you for your concern and for watching out for Paizo's interests sunmaster.

I have updated the Pathfinder Wiki website with some basic posting guidelines and have been adding several new article stubs waiting to be filled out. Come check out and contribute to the wiki!

I agree that the cost/time should be reduced to encourage wizards to diversify their spell selection. Now, another limiting factor will always be the 100 pages per spellbook so purchasing/storing multiple spellbooks does factor in later on as well.

  • 10 gold/page
  • 1 page + 1 page/2 levels beyond 1st (ie, 1 page for levels 1-2, 2 pages for levels 3-4, 3 pages for levels 5-6, etc.)
  • 1 hour/spell level

Now, I would like to see some of the material that was first presented in the AD&D book, "Player's Option: Spells and Magic" concerning a wizard's library and components for magic item creation. I do realize that may be a bit too indepth for the average player, but I think it does warrant some consideration for depth and realism.

No, thank you for being such an inspiration Wolfgang. You are the man.

Honestly, I've never payed attention to other game systems that have different names for the guy behind the screen. Lets just stick to Game Master.

Survey taken.

This will be a great benefit to myself and anyone else running a Pathfinder wiki. Requests I would like to make for such a fan site kit:

1. Pathfinder logos in several sizes.
2. The deity symbols.
3. Some sort of Pathfinder fan site image file.
4. A copyright statement to be inserted on the main page of the site to protect Paizo's interests.

Thanks so much for listening to our voices Josh.

Wow. I cannot wait to join in on this. I spent several active years in the RPGA doing a ton of different things from RPGA State Representative to organizing cons centered around RPGA events. I know Pathfinder Society is going to exceed everything RPGA accomplished and make its mark on the gaming world.

You can count on me Nick!

Just to give an update on the Wiki status:

1. I've updated all of the indexes with new info through Pathfinder 7 and Module J3.

2. The Pathfinder RPG has been added to the product list.

3. Several minor edits, mainly spelling/format errors.

The announcement of the Pathfinder RPG is a very momentous occasion, so it may yet be some time before I receive official work concerning the wiki from Paizo. As soon as I know more I will post it here.

Lots of good stuff getting added to the Wiki. We have the basics of most of the gods up and the first True20 conversion stats are going up as well. As soon as I get the official word back concerning the limits of what we can and cannot post, we're going to kick this project in high gear.

Don't forget to check back daily for new updates. And while you're there go ahead and sign up. The more contributors the merrier!

I did not know about the template capability. It would be very helpful for consistency. Could you create one for the site or give me some examples?

The templates published so far are listed on the Index of Monsters if that is what you mean. Or were you wondering about original content?

I've added a page on the Pathfinder Wiki website for fanfic if anyone has any they want to post.

Thanks for the list Brine. I've added it to my lengthy to-do list. :-)

Brinebeast, that is pretty cool stuff that you have compiled so far. Care to add it to the Indexes on the wiki website?

Added a page for conversions under the DM section for you Pop. Post away!

I have contacted Ms Lisa Stevens for just that purpose. When I have full clarification of what can and cannot be posted, I will add it to the website.

I just wanted to let everyone know that the new Pathfinder Wiki is now open for business. I am compiling a Pathfinder Index and others are working on a wide range of topics. Everyone is invited to join in as we support this great community that we call Pathfinder.

Add http://www.pathfinderwiki.com to your bookmarks.

Yeah, just sign up on the website and it will allow you to being editting. As far as guidelines, I'd say just try to be as organized as possible. As we grow, maybe one or two people will be in charge of editing, but the point of a wiki is for the community as a whole to take responsibility and maintain.

As far as learning how the wiki formatting works, check out MediaWiki for lots of how-to guides.

Feel free to drop me a line at finerion@gmail.com if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions.

Thanks!

Thanks for the contributions Deaddmwalking. Please spread the word about the new site. I will continue to transfer the info I have, but will focus on updating and maintaining the index and the website itself.

You guys have no idea the levels of OCD that went into that DragonDex. I frightened myself at times.

To do a similar project for Pathfinder, I'd say it should index:

* All the main Pathfinder issues
* All the Pathfinder Chronicle books
* All the Pathfinder Companion books
* All the 32-page modules, and
* The Players Guides

Actually Andrew, I have already begun an index that will include all of that. I have the first six Pathfinder issues, both player's guide, and module D0. I will be working on getting the other GameMastery modules added this week.

The basic settings have been configured now and the site is ready to start accepting registrations.

Pathfinder Wiki

I will begin setting up www.pathfinderwiki.com then. Domain is registered, I just need to finish setting up some options in Media Wiki before we start posting.

I would love to host a unified Pathfinder community wiki. I've even checked and pathfinderwiki.com is available if we want to go with that. I can host using MediaWiki with plenty of space and bandwidth for a growth. Thoughts?

I've working on a combination wiki/index for my own personal use. More than welcome to check it out.

Great job Salama! My group is about to start Volume 3 in a couple weeks and this will help immensely. Thanks.

I am really excited to hear that you are trying to tweak this into a solo adventure. I am about to start a solo campaign and have been looking for good candidate modules to modify for 1 character. Let me know how it goes!

For Rise of the Runelords, you could make the main villain Mokmurian instead of Karzoug. Mokmurian, instead of being Karzoug's tool, could be attempting to re-establish the Empire of Thassilon under stone giant (his) control. The sihedron rune, in this case, is being used to repower the runewells around Varisa, giving Mokmurian ready-made sources of magical power and sinspawn reinforcements. The raid on Sandpoint was to determine the location of the runewell, not to find Karzoug's spy.

An excellent point, though I know my players really do enjoy long-lasting, epic storylines. Will certainly be sticking with the whole AP here, but with additional sidetreks and supplementary storyline material added to customize it for my group.

Halfling rogue is mostly ready. Will post when I get off of work this afternoon.

Rough Character Ideas:

Varisian Favored Soul(Shelyn)/Sorcerer(Enchantment)/Mystic Theurge
Dwarven Cleric (Torag, Crafting/Magic item creation)
Chelaxian Wizard (Conjurer or Necromancer)
Halfling Rogue/Sorcerer/Arcane trickster

As you can tell, I love playing casters. Any particular character concept going to fit better than the others?

I would love to play! I'm at work at the moment so I will not have a chance to post a character until later tonight.

Are there any spots available Zoomackulas?

It sounds like your group really thinks outside of the box. Great job!

My favorite thing is how well the world of Golarion and the Rise of the Runelords campaign can simultaneously entertain my 2 veteran players as well as my 2 first-timers. All 4 of my players are enjoying every aspect I have presented to them. I remember one of the veterans commenting about the goblins that they were nothing only to be impaled the next encounter by a horsechopper while being set on fire by another goblin. My first-timers get the feeling of being on the same level as these two vets as far as world knowledge and experience.

It is such a great feeling to be on the ground floor of something as new and exciting as this. I don't know any other company that could get me this excited about a campaign setting. Kudos Paizo.

Personally, I think ancient evils tend to be more of a cornerstone of the genre as opposed to recent, untested evil villains. One of the qualities that gives the ancient villain a greater aura of threat/danger to the PCs is the timelessness of being having either lived through many ages of the world or having been completely from another time. The newer evil just tends to lend itself to being considered a lower threat and tends to either have at it's root something much older or is empowered by something older (an evil relic, a cabal of dark priests of a dead god, etc).

Mr Jacobs, I for one would like to applaud the steps you and the team are taking to diversify the BBEG's for both Pathfinder and the Gamemastery modules.
