This Game is pretty cool to supplement Skulls & Shackles ;-) . Perhaps not the best CRPG out there, but since the number of piraty rpgs is small and the 1.5 hours I got to play it up to know were really fun (if a bit too streamlined compared to the studios earlier games for my taste), I would recommend it.

This could be a real retro-treat.

To our hosts, Paizo and all their employers I raise my glass to wish them a merry christmas or whatever holiday they chose to celebrate. May merryment and recreation be both plentyful. Here is to you.

As christmas approaches, I decided to make gifts of self made candy for my friends. I then recalled a thread about gaming snacks and some otherculinary threats on these bords and thought: why not share?

The Customer Email says, Order will not ship until I contact customer service, so I just wanted to check if there is anything you need me to do.

Hi Cosmo
I just picked up my order at the customs office, but there is a a little problem. I ordered (and was billed for) The VAult of the Whispering Tyrant (PZO 2002) Adventure with Miniatures, yet I recieved only the adventure.

For the German Messageboard Members:
Without announcing it, ulisses finally managed to get the first Pathfinder Product running. The German Magazine
Mephisto
published the german "Hollows Last Hope" as a freeby!
The Magazine also announced a Pathfinder Column for future issues!

My FLGS sent me this book as a holiday gift. Since I ordered quite a few books this time I can't read 'em all at once. This book seems decent and has quite a few interesting ideas in it, but I'd really like to hear if anyone has it and gamed with it, so game experiences anyone?

It seems the picture link of todays Blog entry is not working...which is a shame as far as I can see.

I know I posted this in another thread allready, but since this thread was temporarily shut down (and reopened in a much better tone so I hope that said thread fades into this boards oblivion), I'd like to rpost this proposal since I hope it could bring a little peace back into the testboards while still adding to the efford we call playtesting.
While I usually try to avoid the "players can do a and b, thus achiving c so that rule ist broken (perhaps not to eloquently put but still I guess everybody knows what threats I am referring to) they made me think about something: just because a problem doesn't appear in most games doesn't mean it shouldn't be fixed. I just think it isn't top priority to fix these somewhat obscure leaks while there are other topics to be discussed and tinkered with, topics that affect the playability and the feel of the game for most players.
Thus said I think, fixes to "obscure issues" should be maid if
- the adressed leak ist fixed easily without interfering to much with the rule system as a whole (all the better if the poster finding the leak already found and posted a viable fix)
- fixing the adressed leak doesn't affect the "feel" aka fluff of the game to much (i believe the game is meant't to play stories, so the fluff should't need to be adjusted to fit the rules).
In other words - fixes are valid if the fix does't affect the game more than the leak does.
Since I and at least some of the posters above seem to see no immediate need to search for loopholes and fix them and I'm sure Jason and the Paizo Team still work on topics in the PRPG that are - let's say more accessible for most playtesters, perhaps it would be a valid Idea to make a thread jsut for discussing discovered loopholes so Jason can look through them when he feels to have the time to do so without neglecting other work. Since there are many playtesters unconcerned about things like "efreeti granting unlimited wishes" it would also give them (us) the chance to participate in most of the playtesting without adressing issues that never showed up in our games.
Note: I don't think these discussions should be avoided or diminualized by cloistering them in a sub-board, I just think the majority of players can't add to much to the solution of these problems because they never encountered them.

As a treat for german Boardmembers who don't know it yet - Ulisses-Spiele (Das Schwarze Auge) announced that they will do the german translation of Pathfinder, starting with the Rules Beta and the Golarion Hardcover.

Just in case someone ist interested:

I think I got a slight headache form watching the trailer (and reading the "subtitle" ;) but I'm nevertheless looking forward to the full episodes.
(Still can't linkify - so if someone interested and able would do so - I'd greatly appreciate.)

I just remembered collecting these „rules for roleplayers” for a convention where I was part of the organizing team.
The rules were a big hit and I started copying them for most attendants of said convention and adding to them for the following years.
Sadly this convention died a few years ago, but I think it is worth a try to translate the rules into the English language for your enjoyment. If you want to add to these rules – please feel free.

1. Set long-term goals for your characters:
“When I reach level 15 I become a megalomaniac”

2. Let your Gamemaster know that you heed the advice and warnings he presents:
“OK, I open that door – what’s the amount of damage I take?”

3. Take care of the faithful companions of your character:
Player 1: “The next to enter the Tavern is…”
Player 2: “I get my horse to the stables”
Player 3: “I take care of my horse and pay the stableboy”
Player 1: “The next to enter the Tavern is…my pony!? Damn, I forgot that..:”

4. Don’t give up a good hiding place for nothing!
Player 1: “I introduce myself: I’m Sarah”
Player 2: “I’m Chen”
Player 3: “I’m still hiding behind the shrubbery”

5. When hiding your Identity, take care you know your alias!
“I’m called Darius of…where have we been in the past week?”

6. If you cannot rely on your senses, rely on logic!
“I think this isn’t a pyramid, this is a circle! – Left is faster then the outer track!”

7. When looking for top secret information – a subtle approach is always the best!
“Hey there, merchant! I heard you are selling slaves?”

8. If you’ve got to much information, trust your intuition for sorting out!
“I didn’t think that vision I had was important.”

9. Make your equipment list clean and accessible!
“Can we ignore the last 40 GP – then I have a nice clean amount…”

10. The well being of your friends should always have a high priority.
“While I pass her, can I see if she’s bleeding to death?”

There will be more - unfortunatly not all of these rules stay meaningful when translated, but I'll see what I can do.

I hope this is the right board to post this:
http://labs.wanokoto.jp/olds
I found this page very useful for cthulhu and other horror/historically influenced games. It allows you to age photographs to look like they are about 100 years old. The results look great!

I don't know if anybody else was dissappointed with this adventure I surely was. To make the most of it I played it with the Buffy Rules from Eden Games - and it was fun! I didn't even have to remove many of the combat encouters to keep the atmosphere as i did for my D&D group - I played with a modern group but it might work even better with a victorian slayer - try it - believe me, it is worth the effort!

I don't know if anyone else was dissappointed with this adventure I surely was - but to make the most of it - try playing it with the Buffy Rulebook from Eden Games - either for viktorian slayers or for a modern group - it is much more fun and you don't have to remove any combat encounters to keep the proper atmosphere - try it, believe me, it is worth the effort!

I lurked on this forums for a pretty long time, rarely placing my rant on any topic, but since I intend to partake a bit more I guess the best way is to introduce myself to the other board users,
I play (well, mostly DM) (A)D&D and a few other RPG's for about 17 Years now, enjoying the quality of paizos work for a few years now (more or less since the SCAP) and having recently read the first issue of pathfinder as well as the first few game mastery modules - unfortunatly they took their time to arrive at my local gaming store in germany. I'm glad the high standard is kept, even surpassed. I'm really looking forward to lead my players to Golarion (at the moment I mainly play in the FR setting and at this moment I still enjoy that setting - though I'm not quite sure what to think of the changes to come...).
I'm quite confident that pathfinder will keep me interested even if my faith in D&D crumbles with most anouncements about 4thE. - Mind you, I'm not sure yet that it will suck, but the article about the quest system really shook my remaining faith... - so I guess paizo and pathfinder will start to define my D&D anew.
