Here is a very good free online dungeon painter (superbly easy to use):
If any of you make some maps, please link them up! jh I ran the demo/solo from the Hero's guide for my 10 and 5 year old (my 8 year old watched). Both of them just came home from school today wanting to play again. I think we're going to head in the mine from the supplemental before doing the main scenario. Note: I had the goblins get 'wounded' and run off rather than the usual murder-n-take-their-stuff approach ;) We did kill off the skeleton king I'm also cutting out the magic items from the print outs and handing them to them so they don't have to write down and reference. Players wanted for WFRP 3e group (Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay).
Please respond at the MEET-UP: http://www.meetup.com/Denver-RPG/ Characters welcome! Jay H
Liber Fanatica is an established fanzine for the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay game. We are beginning production of issue #9 and are seeking 3rd edition articles, illustrations, and scenarios. LF is a great way for burgeoning authors to get noticed or just burn some creative oil. Current issues are devoted to the 3rd edition of the game. If you are interested, please join the inner sanctum by proposing an article at the guestbook:
Thanks, Jay Hafner

Our group plays Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and Pathfinder. We are seeking a couple more players to round out our group. If you are new to Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, no big deal; rules taught. LOCATION: LAKEWOOD, COLORADO DATES: WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY NIGHTS 2-3 TIMES PER MONTH TIMES: 7PM TO 10:45 PM Please email me with interest and respond here too:
Thanks! Jay H We need a Lead Developer for LF8. I headed up LF7 and am willing to stay on as assistant editor, but I need someone to step up and take the reins to keep everyone to deadlines, encourage production, and get creativity out of people. We've already got articles coming in, and I'd love to see this continue to ride the WFRP official release waves. If you're even REMOTELY interested, please email me at: hafner DOT jay AT gmail.com. FOR THE EMPIRE!!! Jay Hafner Ok, we're set to start Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 3rd edition games at Mythplaced Treasures in LAKEWOOD. Games will be on either Saturdays or Sundays and will run for 4 or so hours. We expect to meet 2-3 times per month. I'll be running an ongoing series of one-shots in a campaign (Living-style), so players can drop in and out as necessary and new players should be able to join at any point. HERE IS THE SCHEDULING MEET-UP Character generation: Standard rules except you can choose your career instead of random generation and humans cannot have a starting characteristic of 5. House Rules are here If you do not have the Player's Guide or Core Rules, let me know and we'll get you set up at the game. If you are interested, respond here with preferred day and character idea. Later saturdays and earlier sundays are my what I can do. Jay H
We are also running Pathfinder Society games. Check them out at Rocky Mountain Pathfinder Society Yahoogroup. jh I'd like to start a thread regarding options regarding rejected scenarios. Although rejected scenarios oftentimes need a lot of work, I don't believe that they are a wasted effort. If they can't be worked into the PFS circles, what about other options? There are a lot of fan-sites (D&D, PFS, and other game systems) that can be a good places to work on and finish a current project that you feel has merit. I think simply working on your skills and building your reputation for future projects, including and especially for future submissions for Pathfinder Society Scenarios, could be very valuable. Please post locations where you feel these would be useful for budding authors and rejected scenarios. Thanks, Jay H All: I did up a table of briefs of pre-req's and benefits of all of the legal traits and feats listed in the Guide to Pathfinder Society Open Play. I hope you find it useful to diversify your characters and get more use out of your Pathfinder library. Let me know on thoughts or errata. I may make the "benefits" listings more brief to match the type of table in the Core rulebook. http://www.enworld.org/forum/attachments/pathfinder-rpg-discussion/44279d12 76235160-pathfinder-society-complete-list-feat-trait-pre-reqs-benefits-pfs- feats-traits-list-6-2010.pdf Thanks, Jay Hafner I'd like to discuss what everyone's feelings are regarding 1-hp minions such as we see in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 3E or D&D 4e. As a player, I enjoy slaying minions and as a Gm, I think they make shutting down the BBEG a little more difficult (and fun). What are your thoughts for adding them to Pathfinder? Jh Something that's been on my chest since I came back to this game a month or two ago. Could we please finally get back to a readable font size? 8 point is really tough and worse after a day at a convention..I know you guys like it because it looks clean and it looks like we're getting more for our bucks..but how about thinner margins and a larger font instead? Also, since xp has moved to "finishing the scenario with success," instead of every encounter needs to be deadly, I'd like to see/encourage more NON-deadly, investigative encounters instead of the usual run of combat combat trap combat trap combat sequence of scenarios. Lastly, I'd like to congratulate Paizo and the writers on continuing to do such a great job with scenarios, editing, and artwork (including cartography). Jay Hafner
.. Alright, something's got my goatee twisted today: Stupid character names. I understand if there's a kid who doesn't understand that "GalaxyMan", "drzztard" or "Captain Spider" maybe isn't appropriate, but how about non-kids? Tell me how to deal with this as a GM! Do I just tell them flat-out that they're using a stupid name and they should change it? I can imagine this in an MMO but should it be "allowed" in Pathfinder Society?
Thanks in advance, jh
I've got a concern that one of my adult players is cheating and I'd like some advice on how to address it This is in our general pathfinder game (not open play), but I need some advice anyways from you experts. I've always suspected that he fudges. He tends to use camouflaged dice so that you can't see the result from across the table. He rolls and picks it up quickly so nobody else sees the result. Our group rolls attack and damage dice together to save time, but his character (2 attacks) uses the same colored d6 for his attacks and I suspect he's just choosing the higher. He rarely reports a miss on an attack and always does plenty of damage. I did a rundown of the average initiative's over the last 8 combats (and am thinking of keeping track of other things just to be sure..but should I have to do this 'sleuthing?'):
I've requested everyones character sheets to be emailed over to me for two reasons: 1) to make sure everyone's math is correct before I jump to conclusions, 2) work on background/foreground development for characters. Any thoughts on how I should address this? He's an adult, so I want to treat him as such. jh Any thoughts on how to bump pathfinder's BURNT OFFERINGS scenario so it's not so unbelievably easy for my pc's? Characters are btw,
The inquisitor is thinking of changing to a warrior class too because the scenario is just a giant dungeon crawl. One other thought: is "FAST progression too fast? for these older scenarios?" jh I'm contemplating which "Teamwork/Tactician" feat would be most useful for a cavalier in general. I'm playing a Taldorian of the Lion order for theme btw. * Improved Initiative
Thoughts? jh

Forgive me for bringing up this topic in this fashion, but I'm only recently getting back to D&D. I see a lot of talk about inane rules discussions and min-maxing characters, but where is the discussion for the world stuff? I guess my point is, does anybody care about the world background or is it just the same old generic D&D? Does that stuff matter in this world? Is there a difference from one human to the next or are they "just the boring race?" I enjoy reading up on the factions. I think they're a good idea, but do the places on the map matter to anyone other than the GM? jh All: I HIGHLY welcome your feedback on the formatted draft of my 2nd fan scenario: THE LONE WOLF. It is specifically for a WFRP/D&D 3.5 crossover game. It is already formatted and includes a map (so it looks pretty). I included 90% of the feedback already received. I specifically need feedback on the following: 1. Flow and general thoughts

How sad is that: I never recieved 148 and didn't notice until today.. I was working on the final version of my Complete Dungeon Index (thanks to those of you who have helped over the years), and I JUST noticed that I hadn't recived it. I guess being the July issue, I just forgot! How sad, considering how much I rely on Dungeon! Could someone tell me the non-adventure contents so I can finish this dang thing? Who do I contact to get my issue? Jay
