with a wink to Auberon, Flynn suggests a peace sign tattoo to represent himself as he fiddles with his colorful rock that was handed back to him. He tries not to look disappointed at its lack of spinning or talking and casually lets it fall from his hand.

A few steps on, he hears crying begin from behind him. Turning, he sees nothing.
A moment later a smile slowly spreads across his face as understanding comes to him, and he heads back to pick up his rock.

Flynn practically launches out of the water. The cold quickly forgotten as he surveys the scene, he locks eyes with the monkey fey

"Come to me!"
He says while he draws his sword

Flynn casts Command (the approach option) while using his once a day eastern mysteries trait.
Will save 18
Approach: On its turn, the subject moves toward you as quickly and directly as possible for 1 round. The creature may do nothing but move during its turn, and it provokes attacks of opportunity for this movement as normal.

attempting to read any cues from the gnome, Flynn attempts to use the most appropriate non-verbals to show himself as unthreatening and potentially an empathetic ear

Sorry, I'm at work and can't remember my google password to be able to log in and adjust the map - I know it's some version of "i f@~~ing hate passwords," but i can't remember what is capitalized and what isn't

Flynn moves 5ft. south/down on the map and takes total defense as he waits to see what happens next

let's see what Gorum brings us he whispers to himself

Flynn spends his time chatting and listening. He lives by the motto that we have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Of course, not so much because he has a natural desire to connect with and understand people but because he's learned that listening is crucial if want to be able to manipulate people. He's not evil mind you, just a generally pro social sociopath. He lives by the motto that might makes right, too.

I've never been to Bellis, but if it's half as fun as the last mosquito ridden place I landed in, we should be in for a good time. Assuming you consider pigs pupating into puss covered pig/mosquito hybrids a good time.

I ran a fun bar fight once. It was low level, so that helped, but basically a thug picked a fight with them for sitting in his seat/table and then as soon as initiative was rolled, the barkeep pulled his heavy crossbow out and yelled, "no weapons," making it clear that their would be runners for law enforcement if that rule wasn't held to.
The group reported enjoying it.

i think the idea of having them involved in the world building sounds intriguing. for me, the problem with APs that only get played once a month at most is that there's so little context to everything that is going on (in the grand scheme of everything else that is happening in my life over the course of 4-6 weeks), that most of the detail and backstory simply washes over me after the first session. once that happens, every session the details become harder to connect and therefore harder to retain and therefore harder to care about. i think having the players involved in creating some of the backstory could help more in terms of simply helping them to remember more of the backstory details (since some of them will be recognizable from their own suggestions) and once things are easier to remember, they might tend to be more interested/interesting. not sure how clear that was.

so if i have a snake animal companion take the light armor proficiency feat, i can get him mithril shirt type armor for instance? it seems to mess with balance to give this to things like tigers and not, say, a snake, but it also seems weird to give it to the snake. have i missed any faq about this or anything?

thanks in advance, new to druids :-)

howdy, i'm thinking of making a grappling tetori monk for a pfs game, but i was a little worried a about grappling's viability in the higher levels, and if in order to be good enough at grappling to be effective i would be too gimped in everything else to do much once we're rarely fighting anything that can be grappled.
any insights would be greatly appreciated.

so for spells and spell like abilities where you "touch a willing creature" to give them some sort of bonus, i'm assuming that a player can touch himself, but i just wanted to double check since it seems that it would be so easy to insert the two words of "yourself or" after "touch" and it would leave it completely unambiguous - which made me wonder if you can't effect yourself for those abilities/spells.

any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Howdy. I'm really trying to find a way to make a monk with a reach weapon, and i really mean a monk, not a fighter with a 1 or 2 lvl dip. nothing against that, i just want to try it with more of the monk abilities for flavor if possible.

so along with the flavor of the monk, i like the idea of reach with said monk to be able to pushing assault folks away, continue attacking with lunge and then force them to use up their move action to get to me and give me an AoO while they get back to me.

The trouble i'm having is finding a way to get enough hit to be able to feel confident connecting on those AoOs.

At first i figured i would go:
1. crusader cleric of shelyn which gives me weapon focus with the glaive as a bonus feat.
2. Martial Artist monk - taking crusader flurry at 2nd to be able to flurry with the glaive.
.
.
.

the problem here was that i am now starting with two lvls at 0 BAB which is a bit rough by itself and i can't get any of the important feats leading to the main use for lunge (power attack, furious assault, pushing assault) without a BAB of +1.

Then i decided to go:
1. Fighter - take power attack, furious assault, pushing assault (possibly save pushing for later since no one has more than one attack now anyways, but maybe just take it for fun, flavor, and AoOs)
2. Crusader Cleric of Shelyn - weapon focus glaive
3 Martial artist, picking up crusader flurry immediately.
.
.
.

i really like the flavor of this and i think the couple of utility spells i'll pick up on one lvl of cleric would be fun, but i'm just not sure i'll be able to hit anything, especially on my AoOs, which is kind of the point.

I'm not to up on the newer equipment. Does anyone have any suggestions for making my hit acceptable? or different ideas for how to get there?

thanks in advance
