metagame knowledge;....you'll have time. You......sense it somehow. Because......the dungeonmaster told you....;)

The door opens, easily enough.
The air billows about. The dust of decades is thick, and every breath stings a bit.
On the floor, a mummified tangle of bodies, the leftovers of heavy fighting. Looks like a cadre of guys in O-yoroi, who dropped their naginatas at the door and pulled shorter weapons to fight indoors with, crashed into a gang of guys dressed in lighter armor, who also wielded lighter weapons; tetsubo clubs, katana, the odd battleaxe; that sort of thing. The latter group of warriors wore lighter armor, maybe a "breastplate," torso guard of lamellar, and wrapped their faces in a black veil.
A goot thirty died here. Nothing moves, but the dust heavy in the air.
At the back of the room, a massive statue of a fat bald monk, with a scowling countenance and green gemstone eyes dominates the room. He holds a sword out in a sheathe, propping it up with both hands as if presenting it. His pearllike necklace is a part of the statue, but it's inlaid with gold. His skin looks to be inlaid with colored glass fragments, as do his red and black robes. The sword, like the necklace, is part of the statue; it is also inlaid with gold and glass like black lacquer for the sheathe.
The statue sits legs akimbo, and is a good 10 feet tall.
it's up to you; it's 100 miles; I'll say it's about a week's walk (8-9 days), and of the top of my head, 3-4 days' ride.
Right on; I'll let everybody have a chance to chime in. Then, I'll do a pastoral description of the Ustilavian countryside; maybe tomorrow or something.
Do youse guys got horses?

The morning comes; the bard and his viking buddy haul ass for Lepidstadt........
Ms. Lorrimor sells her mansion, and after a week is ready to bail; anybody wanna do any last minute stuff/buy anything before you hoof it for Lepidstadt?
Also,....anybody wanna run Castiel for the nonce, or if not, I could say........he and Kendra kinda ride over there at a different time than the rest of the group for some annoying reason.
Anybody wanna do anything?
Also,.....does somebody wanna run Beldan, or I could figure something out; I don't know what yet, but I will inevitably.
And, Pip,....Dok points to the roof of the main bailey. You definitely see something moving around up there; what it is isn't clear. It's under a roof in the shadows; there's battlement in the way and there's lots of wooden pillars holding up the roof, but....something's moving up there.
Pretty much just a pile of bones here and there; any and all equipment is unserviceable.
Claw the Golem wrote: Claw has an effective Stealth skill of -8...
Pip, OTOH, is ridiculously stealthy and tags along with the sneaky folks. Stealth check 11+31=42.
Pip's able to stealth about with the stealthers.
Huzzah!!!
Lotsa bones lieing around........rusty combat equipment....
Damn loud elves.....
right on.....
Anything else?
Insomnia....woo hoo.
Right on.
It's up to Pip;
I guess the sneaky guys can do more stuff as well.
Insomnia ftw! Huzzzah!!!
night all.
night all.
The evening winds down, inevitably.......the Quilt never seems to though. Elven blood perhaps; it's said that his mother's folk have no need of sleep.
heh heh....in a bit, he's snoring through his beard onto the table. Not much to see......
It's not 100% if he's not talking to somebody he's hallucinating.....
back in an hour...
back in an hour
right on; need stealth check from the Elganmeister, and Pip unless he wants to chill back as well.
nitey night!
anyway,....I gosta crash.
"heh heh heh!"
the big guy says "Oi! Lit's hairmrassle!"
He's able to almost sneak as good as the Beldanmeister. Good enoug h for government work anyway's.
"I think, in the next week or two. We're fast tracking it up there tomorrow. We'll get there in two days. I don't play, well.....maybe three days; that giant I'm riding with, I don't want him to kill his horse."
Need a stealth roll......
no traps or locks on that door.
anybody else doing anything?......
he's able to do that.
courtyard zoomed; again
the door isn't locked either. You see Dok look up; don't see whatever it is Dok is looking at.....
Colu slinks up next to the door of the main keep, which he can't get into.
"They caught him; he was rampaging in the university for some reason.
He's got a long list of crimes they're gaffling him up for;.....I'm going to go see what all the hullaballoo is.
Make for a good song, mayhap."
More doors, with lion motifs and copper rings on them;....the west building is like the east one Beldan's checking; 1 story of stone, tnen two or three more of wood.
The northernmost main keep is two stories of stone, then three or four of wood.
Dok can see......something on the highest floor of the main keep, moving around. Just see shadowy form really; vision's kinda occluded. Or maybe it's just detritis blown about by the wind?......
Castiel of Fangwood wrote: Castiel bows gracefully to Edwin and re-takes his seat as the detective bard takes over the telling. He nods gratefully when Edwin glosses over the more embarrassing details of the incident at the iron maiden. I know right?
"well, name's Nedrick, but I go by Quilt;" he looks at his cape; "it's catchy. They know who I am.
This is my partner; Firvog; we're eventually headed up to the Linnorm's, visit his.....family; but we're immediately riding for Lepidstadt.
Big to do there; they've captured the Beast of Lepidstadt.
Putting him on trial. For murder.
Lotsa people headed up there; I'm going by there, to just check it all out."
A wind whips through the grounds momentarily. You see an ulna, rolling around a little bit, disturbed by the wind.
He gets to the door. It's a double door, wooden, with ornate lions carved in the door; with big brass rings that are held at the lions' collar. They don't currently appear locked, or trapped.
The bottom floor of this building is made of stone, and perhaps 3 stories tall; the higher floors are wooden.
an exorcism. with riceballs.
heh heh...
rekkin.
ayup.
huzzah!
back in an hour maybe......
huzzah!
back in an hour maybe......
Any questions?.....for the bard, or Mr. Limpy?.....
The bard was also wondering where you guys were going next;....
He sits down;
"We fought some orc ghouls......back in the day;.....it was the archers as did me in. Not the paralyzers with their falchions; nay......the archers.
We won, on accounta we had one of these with us, (he gets up, almost falls over more from gaminess of knee than drunkenness), and pats Castiel on the back;
"but we almost didn't won, too."
huzzah!!!!!!!!!!
Oh; and before I forget,.....1,400 exp each, for "defeating" the starving ghosts with rice balls.
heh heh
