want it large think party had made the mistake of thinking wolf is same level s me will ask next time I see them, it just confused me when I saw how big my wolf was.
only thing is look at first trap description it does not say you can have a reflex save but I would think you would.
well 2 traps in question and they did not happen to my char but someone Else just want to make sure we are doing trap right. 1st trap was scythe trap on a door and second one was a trap on a chest which cut of the person fingers.
thanks reason why I asked as I have a wolf companion and had 1 week away from RP due to illness but part y plaed my char and I advanced to 8th LVL. When the Dm put the playing figures down my wolf had gone from med to large wolf when I asked what had happened was told it was because it had made a level and the group had checked this out. Me looking now under wolf read Starting Statistics: Size Medium,7th-Level Advancement: Size Large. I think they got it wrong.
If you set off a trap do you get an automatic reflex save if so how do you work out what you need to roll.
Just think our DM has not read the rules properly, I have now read the rules about polymorph spells. Dont see how a collar of animal speech will let a mage who has turned themselves into a creature will let said mage cast spells.
No I think he just decided that the crit had hit the monster in the head not that he did not want to give the party the item.
Hi was in a game last week where our thief did a critical hit on the creature he was attacking and our DM decided he had got her between the eyes and bolt stuck in her magical mask.
Would you say this is possible I would not as most fantasy games it takes a bit of hard work to break a magical item. Also he was shooting at monster not trying to break the mask which is a wondrous item worth 10,000gp.
Hiya was in a game last week where Mage cast Beast Shape 2 and became a large ape. She then said can I cast spells in this form whereas our DM said yes as she could still speak. Also said only type of creature for she might have trouble casting a spell in was if she took on the form of and animal with no arms like a bird.
I am right or was my DM wrong please give me your take on this spell.
Just have to say played last night and our DM denied even talking to me abut the fireball and lightning bolt spell and had one back to the boring new uses of said spells.
How you work this out depends on the DM a few of our group me inc are old gamers and had not noticed they change how the spell works. I have just talked to our DM who does not really agree with what they have done to lightning bolt and fireball also similar spells and I then reminded him that it is his world so up to him what the rules are for this world.
Hi if you cast this spell on a creature that can go invisible at will would it still continue to make him be seen. Not had this spell used in our game yet but we had an invisible creature in another part of game who could go invisibly. We managed to make part visible with a bag of flour but then when recast invisibility the dm said the flour was also gone invisible. Would this be the same for this spell as they way I read it, it work differently and continues to outline the creature even if it re cast invisibility on itself.
Hi wondering if there were any spells that can hit a blinking creature/person of do you have to roll to see if you have missed.
I dont play it up to murderous degree I did let the goblins go and also believed they would keep their word which they then proved was not worth much. For the record killing the goblin babies and then later killing the goblins that attacked me was not going against my Alignment as I am Chaotic Good. I will still give a goblin a chance I wont chase them down fanatically and kill them unless they are trying to kill me. As to the babies what was the party supposed to do with them we would have not rescued them as we were halfway through the dungeon at the time the best if my char had not killed them we would have just left them to starve to death or join with the new goblin clan which only 1 week later had retaken Thistletop.
Got to say my character in this game is a Dwarf and yes when faced with baby goblins I did kill them all as I thought my character classed goblins a vermin. I am also playing my dwarf as humanoid but I am not HUMAN I am a completely different species and have a different out look to short lived humans.
Just like to point out that Dwarfs have a different outlook on life compared to a Human or elf what may be evil to one race is just normal for the other race.
In the game I am playing it only too 1 week for a tribe of goblins to move in our party was 6th level by that time and although the DM beefed them up it did not take us long to kill them they were not really a challenge.
well would like as much ammunition as possible as my group can be argumentative when they want to be.
I tried to pick Humans but was shot down by both my fellow players and DM and main reason because if I took humans it meant I hated all Humans. One that would not bother me as I am playing a dwarf and 2 only human in party is a mage. I cannot see why I hate them if I am just good at hunting them.
Hi do you have to pick what type of energy you resist when you learn this spell or when you cast it.
Some good point as a single target spell maybe only effect main target and anyone touching him. The monk character was being held by crab so would say officially one target. Or to share damaged out to each person in water equally which would have been 2 hp each. As this was a small electrical charge.
Here is set up monk was bring held and crushed by large crab (giant size). There was a fighter stood next to crab hitting it and the mage was stood in water. Every one of said characters and monster were in contact with water. The Mage cast shocking grasp at crab doing 8 point of damage to every body in water ever herself, is this the correct way it should have been done. Logical I know its a spell but says does electric damage. Our DM informed me that he asked on pathfinder site and was told damage was counted as magical and should be divided equally between monsters and characters.
yes valid point and I am Roleplaying a ranger at moment but if was the DM that is what I would do.
Not really sure if its just they dont like person think they would make any new player and not that close a group as they keep asking 2 of people if they want to join and every time they say NO (for last year or so). Yes could get by with 3 only trouble is my Ranger has been geared up to be a Archer as we had a Monk in party that rushed off into combat. Now if its me at head of combat dont really have right melee feats.
In a a game at moment that one of our players is off to college, we are a 4th lvl party.
To my mind new player equals new character We need a new players as if we still go with using old character means 1 person will be using 2 characters. (that would be only 1 choice as 2 char already have pets)
Think using point system would have been better as we used Herolab to roll points and to trueful is roll really rubbish rolls. Had a couple of good rolls but mainly bad ones.
Thanks its not my char but were using Hero Lab and it seem to have give Monk less pluses to hit with FOB.
If you look at bastard sword says can be used 2 handed as a martial weapon, which my char does have.
Don't think party would last long if I went down as I am best at combat and although the monks not too bad he gets hit a lot. When i first rolled up my char and said it was going to be a Dwarf Ranger they said that unusual they had never heard of that combination and yet on the first NPC was a dwarf Ranger.
They did dictate what I could do an would not shut up when I was leveling up my character with the DM. All the DM did was grin and carry on felt like I had 3 people against me.
Hi a friend of mine runs a pathfinder game on a Thursday night we are going to loose a player in a few weeks so need a replacement.
It was a big issue was told if took leopard then would not be getting and heals done on me.
Hiya trying to work out what the plus to hit are for a monk doing Flurry of Blows
Yeah try telling my party that does not help that DM never really misses when he rolls to hit so Cleric is having to do a lot of healing and that hes telling the Cleric he should be fighting more.
Hi have something funny for you at moment I am roleplaying in a group I am a ranger, we have a mage a cleric and a monk.
Thanks one of main prob I can see with 4 party limit is if some cannot make night then rest of people have to something else.
Currently doing Burt Offering in the Rise of the Runelords pack, we have 4 players and a DM.
Hiya doing Burnt Offerings at moment we have a party of 4 plus a DM when one of us mentioned he might be able to get another player the GM said we had reach the limit as it was only a 4 player game is this true. I have had a look behind this scenario and I could I could easily DM it with 2 more players. So what the player limit on game officially. |
