What do some of you think about players having the monsters loaded up on their hero lab while they are fighting the monster. Personally I don't like it. It's one thing to be fighting a monster, and remembering some stats from when you ran the beasty or read it, but having it there right in front of you. Seems a little well wrong. I won't say its a breach of Table Trust, but its close. I do expect them to look up the monster when they get home, and that's fine. Would it be wrong to not remind them of knowledge checks anymore and to switch the stats up. Giving a monster higher DEX than normal, there by pumping the AC up one or two. Perhaps even trading in a spell like ability for another one of the same power level.
Perched at the edge of civilized lands, the small town of Falcon’s Hollow has always had to rely on itself to solve its problems. Meanwhile, the uncaring lumber barons squeeze the common folk for every last copper, deaf to their pleas. Now the hacking coughs of the sick are heard throughout town. The plague has come to Falcon’s Hollow and the town’s leaders can’t be bothered to stop it.
You each travel along a road that skirts a light forest on the east and farmland on the west. The silence is only interrupted by the occasional lowing of cow or the chattering of upset squirrel. The day is cool but could grow warm as summer is just beginning. It is early evening. The sun has set, but there are still several hours of light left. Perhaps you can make the Traveler’s Stop Inn by dark. Post when ever you like. We start as Tears and Endar meet on the road. As they talk and walk Janya hears them, the Felix hears them.
Open recruitment for Into the Haunted Forest. Looking for 4-6 players. This is a one shot module. There is no campaign guide, though if you ask nicely I could give you a pointer or two. Characters know each other and are traveling down the trade route on the edge of Arthfell Forest hoping to reach the Travelers Stop Inn by night fall. There is to be a set of two Prologs before the game actually begins. This will give the players an actual chance to get to know each other. --Crunch--

Very recently I started a Serpent’s Skull AP only to later kill it. Aside from dealing with things that PbP is fraught with it dawned on me that running a full AP was going to be a six or seven year endeavor. I quickly felt in over my head and stopped the game. This coupled with a few poor choices which gave me an awful taste at running PbP. However I really like running games and I am here trying a new approach. Doing one adventure could take us about a year or so to complete, or so it seems to be on the boards. That will give us plenty of gaming, commitment, all with a realistic end in sight. Having read through this romp it will be fun for a variety of reasons. Aside from that I have been playing and running games of and on for 15 years. Playing everything from Marvel Superheroes, CoC, Vampire (both table top and Larp), Rifts, and of course plenty of D&D. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
I need to know what style of gaming it is when you do not advance above 6th level, even though the adventures keep going. No one has better spells than third level. Nobody's BAB goes higher than what they have at 6th level. I believe skills may go up. Perhaps HP too but I don't rightly know. Could someone help me?
Prologue Four of the Six players Boarded in Cheliax. PCs who boarded there are Blythe, Angada, Ralismit, and Harper. Linard came aboard at Corentyn. This is something everyone would know, The sixth player has to get back to me on this detail. The passengers are summoned for their evening meal. Over the few weeks you have been on board the Jeinvere this has become something of a staple. From the lively conversation, to the bold stories told by either the Captain Alziandru Kovack, or the admirable violin playing of his first mate Alton Devers each night has been a delight. You are joined by the first mate, the captain, a gnome by the name of Gelik, a red hair flirty woman by the name of Sasha, and a pale woman you have not spoke with but you know that her name is Ieana. Like usual Ieana is eating with her nose in a book. For the last few dinners they have not been as robust and joyous as they were. You have been sailing south for several days and you are expecting to reach Sargavan port within several hours on the morrow. There is rumored to be other passengers on board but you have not met them. Aside from the crew there is a least one prisoner, bound for trial in Eleder. Kovack, stairs blankly into space eating his meal without enthusiasm. Alton is visibly tense, again. Alton to Kovack. Pardon ser, but have you sent the meal to the prisoner? Kovack, stairs for a second longer, blinks looks disturbed and says No, not today. Alton, drops his fork with a crash. Did we feed him yesterday? Kovack, looking perturbed. I do not recall. Alton gets up from the table and leaves the room. posting pics of the npcs soon, aside from that the floor is open
I would like to run a PBP Serpent’s Skull AP. I am currently running this AP in a table top game, we are about a third of the way through it. I like this AP and while it does create a lot of work for the GM it is a pretty interesting sand box. Beyond that I have been gaming for around 15 years and have been back in the GM’s chair for the last three. I am brand new to play by post. Looking for at least four players, maybe more if there seems to be a lot good posters who are excited. Maximum 6 players. 20 point buy. First level. All current Pathfinder source books but Ultimate Equipment (I don’t have it yet). All races, all classes. There must be unified alignment trend on the Good or Evil axis among the characters. 150 starting gp for all players. Note that you will not be starting with your equipment right away. 1 campaign trait, 1 other trait. Minimum posts, 3 per week. The opening scene has a backdrop that all characters have booked passage on a ship for one reason or another. You must select a port of call where you boarded the Jenivere. Magnimar, Kintargo, Pezzack, Corentyn, Illizmagorti, Ollo, Quent, Port Peril, Bloodcove, Senghor, or Elder are the ports that you may choose from. You will need to also have a background of 50-200 words. You are to include why your character was on the ship. Final character sheet drafts will need to be submitted, via email, on similar sheets which I will provide. I suggest at least one player be good at using Diplomacy. It comes up a lot in this AP. Accepting players October 2nd 2012. |
