Cannot finish

I think I read 1 chapter and had to stop. I really think 1 star is to good. Having been a reader of fantasy, Sci-Fi and many historical Bios, this book just could not be read. It frustrated me from page and I really struggled to read this book.

While there may be those that like how this guy writes, I am not one. Before I buy another pathfinder novel i think I will sit and read a few pages.

I loved Winter Witch and Plague of Shadows. While not a fan of Prince of Wolves, that book is far better.

To me reading this book was as bad as reading some of the character histories I've seen written by gamer's who had no concept of telling a story or creating a background.

I think had the writer wrote in a different point of view I could have enjoyed this book, but the way it was, it may get used as a trade in.

Reads like a cheap detective novel

The first person dialog really turned me off to this book. Had it been the first book in the Pathfinder tales that I read, I would have been turned off by it. As it was I started with Winter Witch and really enjoyed this book as well as Plague of Shadows

The only part that really redeems this book is Radovan and the Witch Azra. I really felt myself drawn to both of them but was sad in the end as it did not end as I wanted or wished it would have.

If you like first person or cheap detective novels you might enjoy this book. But this book to me in no way lives up to the Pathfinder name or quality.

Outstanding update

Having seen the previous version of this book, this one is hands down better. With the addition of the country maps showing more cities, towns, ruins, etc than the last version (No maps on each page in old version), to the art work and more detail.

This is a must for any GM and I'd say players as well. if you have the old version, this one is well worth the update on.

Additional spells and feats are in the g*!!s as well adding extra meat on the plate already.
