How are we generating stats, anyway? And SeanDM & Deedo, are you guys going to be around today? We're finally back from Cincinnati, and I'm hoping to borrow some rulebooks...

(Just changed my ID from Sol, still don't have a name for my character and "Sol" isn't available for an ID.)

So, I'm still discussing history with Sean in e-mail (since I don't know enough about the universe to work out the sort of details I'd like to have!). But there are lots of character details that probably any of you can provide useful input on.

So, I'm thinking a female Eladrin Bard. A pretty solid chaotic good type, but legitimately guilty of a serious lapse of judgment when she was quite young -- though it's a fair question why she is only now being jailed for it. :)

Hopefully I'll be able to borrow a PH2 next week, but I glanced at one in the bookstore today to look up Bard. Seems like I'll want Diplomacy and Bluff as skills, though I'm not 100% sure how to justify Bluff with what I've thought of her background so far. (Maybe her part in keeping her crime quiet for so long?) Other suggestions?

Another choice I saw was Cunning versus Valor? While by name Cunning sounds better to me, looking at what they actually do, it seemed to me Valor was a better choice?

Also, I have no freaking idea what Eladrin names should be like. Are there resources out there for that sort of thing? Or should I just raid the Celtic names / mythology books again?

I like the concept. Starting at level 2 ought to be fun.

I am thinking about a backstory concept (nothing solid just yet) and I have no idea what race/class I want to play. Does anyone have any strong feelings?

Discussing details with Sean in e-mail, but I'm strongly leaning towards Eladrin Bard (Leader role) at the moment.

And we start at level 2! Even though it's in bold, I missed it every time I read Sean's message.

Hello! Mostly just testing that I can post here. What's the story with avatar names? Should they be our character names or not?

I'm one of those with no 4e or Eberron experience. I haven't really played D&D since 1992 or so, but I've played a good bit in both the Star Wars d20 and Star Wars Saga Edition systems, as well of tons of Amber and homebrew diceless gaming systems.

Did I hear something about the Mournland being created in a war in living memory? I'm trying to figure out something that might work for a backstory. Working on the assumption that my character is basically good but may have made some bad choices...
