I had great success with using puffy fabric paint to simulate the "worms" on my Kyuss mini. You have to be patient when adding layers of worms. The stuff takes a few minutes to dry, but then you add a new layer of "worms" by using small linear dabs of the fabric paint. I use partial blacklights in my game room so I used florescent fabric paint and the effect was stunning!! I'll try to get an image up. My gaming group thought I bought it!
I play with two groups. One group plays every other week while the other plays every week (in fact, we play tonight). The every other week group sticks to that schedule due to kids, jobs, and other real world concerns. The weekly group is more available, but sometimes not everyone can make it. That's when I pull out the single/2 player reserve campaigns.
One on one can be a lot of fun for the PC and the DM, not to mention easier and faster. No one ever feels left out because you're interacting with one or to people. ENJOY!!
Michael Badger wrote: Any suggestions about how to buy (heck, I will even talk about renting) the necessary miniatures without breaking the bank? What I like to do is download image files of what ever I need, open them in Word or something similar, adjust the height and width, and print them out on cardstock. Then I take foamcore board and cut out the appropriate sized base. Finally, make a shallow cut accross the middle of the foamcore base and insert the cardstock into the slot. These are easy to color, add text and little bits of DM flavor, as well as looking pretty cool. And as a bonus they store flat and are easier to transport than regular 3-D minis.I'll try to post some images of mine in-game.

Thanks for the help. You guys rock.
I had a similar problem with the same campaign. The group entered Icosiol's Tomb, got their clocks cleaned, killing one character. Of course, I let him roll a new one. Then, everyone wanted to reroll their charactrs and start in the same spot. I ended the campaign right there. I wasn't a jerk about it, but I pride myself in suspending disbelief for the players in my campaign. I didn't want to ruin it for them, but the game was ruined for me. They just wanted to gloss over the most important part of a role-playing game...ROLE-PLAYING!! |
