As one of those who go back to the very earliest days of FRPG's I've watched development of Game Master/Dungeon Master record keeping systems with more than a little interest.
At first glance, the advertising copy for the Campaign Workbook which saturated the gaming market gave the impression of a high quality product. Sadly, this just is not so.
The product itself is nearly too small to be used in any successful manner. The selection of forms is modest and, at best, not thought out fully prior to printing. In darker lighting, often favored for "mood" by many DMs, the printing cannot be read because of its color. I am not certain if the light blue printing was an attempt to prevent photocopying, but it also prevents practical use.
Suggestions:
1. Digest size the publication, hardbound with a faux leather cover
2. Go back to the original TSR dungeon master world design kit and take inspiration from the content there
3. Print your product in a user-friendly color so it can be used in any gaming environment short of under water
4. When advertising a product such as this, give a full and accurate description of the product so it doesn't appear to have been misrepresented.
Overall, a marginally useful product that could become a great product with attention to detail. The price is moderate, but any Game Master worth their dice would not balk at a $20.00 cover price for a truly useful workbook.
