Hello everyone! I'm so sorry that I disappeared as well... it's unlike me, but work and life got busy, and with the dissolution of the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, I honestly just got down on the whole Paizo thing in general.

While I am also super sad to see the game end, I agree that we were at that point. It was a monumental feat for Pace to keep it going as long as you did. We were quite the motley crew, and it was so much fun to play in the heyday.

Thank you so much for the good times!!

Very cool, cartmanbeck! Are you going to setup the TableTop sim mod with it?

Either way, I'll get this purchased and figure out how to print it all out!

I'm discussing this possibility with DruveThruRPG now. If I am allowed to set it up in tabletop simulator, it will be a downloadable save file that I will add to the download package, and then you'll have to drop it into the correct folder on your computer to load it into TTS. I'll let you know when I know more.

Hello everyone!
I have the MOST exciting news for fans of PACG... You can now play a brand-new game based on the award-winning first adventure path from the Starfinder RPG, Dead Suns! This new game is built upon the ruleset of PACG, but is a fully-designed game in its own right, with over 500 new cards, eight characters and three full adventures to play them in.

You can find the print-and-play PDF package here: Starfinder Infinite Adventure Card Game

Note that there are many cards that don't yet have art, simply because the art assets that Paizo has made available, while extensive, don't cover everything I needed for these cards. I plan to use the proceeds from sales to commission new art pieces to add to the cards periodically over the next year.

Adventures 4-6 need a bit of playtesting, then they'll be released separately.

I hope you check out the game and enjoy it! Please send any feedback/errors/general comments to me at cartmanbeck@gmail.com.

Thanks so much!
Tyler

Hi all!
A lot of people downloaded the last set of characters I made, so I am continuing with two more new ones!

Tetsuya, Kitsune Liberator
In the cosmopolitan city of Goka, Tetsuya fought against the abomination of slavery, made no less terrible by the guise of civility the city attempted to put upon it. After a number of arrests, the leadership of the city sentenced him to exile. Tetsuya despaired at his inability to save his homeland from their evil ways, until one day a hawk named Eisen bearing a message from Shelyn visited him. Eisen encouraged Tetsuya to travel to Avistan, where there was still much work to be done for liberators such as himself. Now, Tetsuya and Eisen travel across the continent bringing freedom to the shackled and imprisoned.

Baron Blackstone of the Ashwood, Human Hemothurge
Baron Blackstone is well-known and little liked in the city of Korvosa. His gruff demeanor and smug attitude do little to ingratiate him to the locals, though many still recognize his talent for magic. Some of them even seek him out for magical counsel in his home built on the edge of the Ashwood, which he claims to be the noble ruler of, though no such title exists. When the Baron visits the city, he is often given a wide berth, as many are aware that he will happily toss aside those who block his path using his blood magic.

Hello everyone!

Alright, so a group of enthusiastic PACG lovers from the official Paizo organized play Discord server were discussing all of this, and we decided to branch off and take the conversation to another server. Now, I'd like to invite all of you to join that server and help us plan and design some large-scale community-based projects.

To join the server, please click the following link: Skizzerz's Discord

We would love to see any of you there who would be interested in helping out, whether that be through designing scenarios, characters and cards, or writing and editing story text, or simply reviewing what others create. I am fully convinced that together, we can really put together some great content!

Sincerely,

Brother Tyler wrote:

I think that worrying about crowdfunding sites is putting the cart before the horse. A key to every successful crowdfunding effort is that there is a solid plan in place. The people conducting the campaign know what they can produce at different funding thresholds and develop the campaign accordingly. At this point we don't even have a product. More importantly, we don't even know if Paizo/Lone Shark would approve of a crowdfunded campaign for a community-developed product for their game/IP. Even if they were amenable to that, I'm pretty sure that they would want to know what the end product would look like (content and appearance) beforehand. We really need to focus on the content.

In my opinion, our priorities should be:

1. Figuring out what we can develop. This narrows down the list of potential projects.

2. Figuring out what of the above people are most interested in helping to develop. This reduces the list of potential projects even further, getting it down to those that might actually be completed as a community effort.

3. Prioritizing/sequencing the above.

4. Figuring out our methodology for conducting each project.

5. Executing each project in turn (some might be conducted concurrently).

The default for each project is that it would be developed as a product that could be downloaded and printed in accordance with the CUP. Anything above and beyond that (e.g., Drive Thru Cards, publication via Paizo, etc.) is pie in the sky. Don't get me wrong - it would be great to see any of our community developed efforts actually published. I just think that we're setting ourselves up for disappointment if we make that the default expectation. Simply adding to the body of PACG content and helping other hobbyists to continue enjoying the game via community effort is a very realistic goal.

My assumption at this point is that the copyright won't change, preserving our current restrictions.

Some things I'm curious about have to do with what kind of help we might...

I'm with you on all of this (though I do think there's still at least the potential to make use of DriveThruCards, but that would be a later thing once we design some fun stuff). My proposal is that we all come together as a community and make a new adventure path, built on top of the Core Set, based LOOSELY on the storylines found in early seasons of Pathfinder Society scenarios. There is a lot of rich content there, and since they're part of the Section 1 list in the Community Use Policy, we can 'descriptively reference storylines' from them, so as long as we're not copying any text from the scenarios directly, it should be totally fine.

Who's with me? I think we could make a really fun, feature-rich adventure path and really give the community some content we can be proud of!

Just my opinion.

For the record, Paizo doesn't make the ACG. Lone Shark games makes it.

And they haven't stopped making it, they just decided to stop paying Paizo to license Paizo's IP, and are now making it under their own brand, with their own IP.

I think you have incorrect information here, Jared. Paizo is the publisher for the PACG, with Lone Shark Games doing the design work (and getting paid by Paizo to do so). Lone Shark designed Apocrypha long before PACG, and published it during the time that PACG was being published by Paizo.

So, I'm sure there will be a LOT of questions from players coming up from this, so I'd like to head some things off right away:

1) While there may not be any more products coming our way for our favorite game, the online Venture Officers plan to support the game for as long as we have players. We have lots of upcoming events, including the special adventure that was mentioned here in the blog!

2) Even though no new adventures are being published for PACS, we have a lot of flexibility to come up with our own scenarios using the rules for the Wandering Way (scenario 3D from the Dragon's Demand storybook) and we plan to help the community do so!

3) We will be working hard to run all the special events that we can during conventions and other events over the next several months, in order to get every online player who hasn't gotten the opportunity to play them to do so!

TL;DR: I feel your pain, we will miss having new content for the program, but there's still plenty of gaming to be had!

First major question about the mechanics:

The Summoner and Eidolon share a pool of HP. Whose Constitution score do you use for this? Does this mean that summoners (other than if they use the Synthesis feat) need to have excellent Constitution in order to keep their eidolon from being a weakling?

Summoner. The Eidolon section specifies you and your Eidolon share *your* Hit Points. Summoner Hit Points are d10 + their Constitution mod.

Its good to treat the new Summoner as a martial/caster hybrid. Summomer handles spellcasting while the Eidolom handles martial combat, but they share their fate together.

The Eidolon gets a Con score to help determine its Saving Throw and any Con checks I presume.

I agree, but does this change when you use the Synthesis feats? Because it says: "While manifested in this way, you use your eidolon’s statistics." So do you gain a bunch of hit points from your eidolon's Con score, and they disappear if you de-manifest the eidolon? Is this now the new Rage-then-dead-Barbarian?

I've never understood the idea of wanting more things to be left up to GM interpretation. I personally like to have all these things be feats so that I (as the GM) don't have to come up with the ways that all these things work on the fly. If a player can point to a feat and say "it works like this" it makes my life SO much easier.

If you want to play an RPG that leaves a ton of stuff up to GM interpretation, those RPGs exist... play them.

Good morning everyone! I have another exciting announcement today!

With the creation and sanctioning of PACS play using virtual tabletop software like Tabletop Simulator and the acg.orgplayonline.com system, we have created the need for a new lodge of Pathfinders, distinct from our play-by-post games.

To that end, we are announcing the formation of the PACS Mindscape Lodge! Along with a new lodge comes new venture agents, so I'd also like to introduce the two new VAs who you will be working with moving forward:
-Brad "eddiephlash" Janes
-Rodrigo "Akaitora" Retamoza

These guys will be heading up the planning of upcoming online conventions that the PACS community will be able to participate in, as well as answering your questions about how to get started in VTT gaming and where to find players or box runners! Make sure to check out our Discord community over at the Org Play Online Discord for more information, as we expect many games will be recruited for and played using this Discord server.

Thank you all for continuing to help this community grow and prosper, and I look forward to gaming with all of you in the upcoming online conventions!

Hello all!

I wanted to make a quick set of announcements related to the PACS online gaming community:

-First, the bad news... with all the online conventions that are happening in the next few months, we have decided that we will NOT be holding Cards Against Gnomanity, our online play-by-post PACG-specific convention, this year.

-However, we WILL be participating in two traditionally in-real-life conventionst hat have moved online this year:
--Origins Online (June 19-21)
--GenCon Online (July 30-August 2)

-We will also be participating in more online conventions in general, since we can now participate in all of the Virtual Tabletop-focused conventions that happen throughout the year! These include:
-TPKon 9 (September 18-20)
-CON-glomerate (November 6-8)

-We will also be participating in Play-by-post Gameday IX, which will occur in the fall, though specific dates have not been determined yet.

Looking forward to playing with all of you in the near future!

Class decks are, as of today, ALL in there! So you should be able to build your character as it truly exists! :)

This is exciting! I've been trying to figure out the free version first, because our group wants to play Seasons 5 and 6. Is there a guide to using this system anywhere online? I've figured out most things, but am stuck on a few things (like how to move characters).

If you're asking for information on how to use the acg.orgplayonline.com system (not Tabletop Simulator), I can point you to a getting started guide that one of our VAs, Redeux, put together.

I plan to make a video very soon (like... today or tomorrow) with similar information for that system as well. And of course, if you need any help, drop into the PACG threads in the orgplayonline Discord and we can help you directly!

This is awesome. Is there any chance the cards could be updated with the errata? I would be happy to help out with this using photoshop. I sent you an email

I'm definitely interested in doing this, but I'm first going to focus on getting updated versions of all the characters into the game, including all the FAQs and errata that have been applied to them.

Good morning all! Our event coordinator for PaizoCon said that we currently don't have very many box runners signed up to run games... right now it looks like most of you have focused on securing your spot in the special but not signed up for a lot else (this is not the case for everyone, mind). If you plan to have the time, I'd highly recommend you sign up to run a few slots. Anything that doesn't have a "GM" signed up for it by Wednesday the 13th at midnight will be removed from the schedule. So please get your signups done by Tuesday evening!!

We fully expect the box runner to also play at the table (though you don't have to) so it'll be fun for you as well! There are also incentives that you'll get for running these slots in the form of Paizo store credit.

If you'd like to sign up , please go to the PaizoCon Online Warhorn site and register as a GM. Once you get confirmation that you're registered, you can sign up to run some games.

If you are planning to use Tabletop Simulator to run your games, you may want to watch a tutorial video that I recorded the other day. I added some timestamps in the description for specific features, so that you can skip through as needed.

You can instead use the Orgplayonline system that we've been using for play-by-post to run your game. I plan to record a video tutorial for this as well, as time allows this week.

Sorry, I'm old I'm not staying up to the AM hours and I am not getting up before 6 AM to play a game. Sleep deprivation is painful.

Paizo had the opportunity to be schedule flexible and offset the time slots so the work on both coasts, but with typical Paizo arrogance - we're just going to do things our way and Customers have to deal with it.

The original convention was going to be scheduled in Pacific time slots because it was to happen in Seattle. Is it really shocking that in a transition to online play, they would do the same?

I am also on the East coast and while it's not ideal, I've found times that work for me. There's also no cost to attend this convention, so you can sign up for just one slot on a Saturday and not lose any money on it. It seems pretty unnecessary to call this "arrogance".

For those who aren't familiar with running games on Tabletop Simulator, I have made a handy-dandy guide for getting started. Feel free to subscribe to the Tabletop Simulator workshop files found in the document and play around with it between now and the convention!

Note that at the moment, only the stand-alone scenario A Night at Bloodthorne Manor is sanctioned to be played. At PaizoCon, we'll be launching a lot more scenarios!
