Couldn't we add or change out a Knowledge skill for the the correct enemy? Like Dean, the first level ranger, choose evil outsider as his favored enemy. Would you think he would exchange maybe Knowledge(nature) for (planes)?
Okay what did I miss last week.
Looks like I may be running some rounds in Stillwater OK sometime in March. Is anybody interested in playing?
Shackled City... I hadn't played in awhile and thought I would just pick up a Dungeon mag to read at work. HAve been fan the Golem ever since. And when they decided to do their own thing, I was hooked.
What no LOVE al pacino in "Devil's Advocate". Have to agree with Viggo though, great MOVIE.
Who has played the the best and worst Satan? any Genre.
Seeing him puck each pedal of the rose than eating the and a SAtan that sings is scary.
A player is playing ZAZ "THE MAGNIFICANT" an over the top gnomish firebug. HE always complains about not being able too see because the half-orc barbarians is too big. "My view never changes!! as he dangles "crown royal" dice bag in face about eye level. IT's always funny.

September 18.
I'm kind of hoping it's dealt with in an epic 'Orpheus goes to Hell' or 'Dante's Inferno' sort of way, and not in the way that Buffy season three 'dealt with' it by having Angel just randomly plotz nekkid out of Hell two or three episodes later with no explanation given.
Then again, Dean plotzing nekkid out of Hell would probably have it's fans as well...
Well Just saw the Season premier.
** spoiler omitted **
Got stuck working a crap shift and missed it. She said they should have played Man in a Box instead shook me all night long.
I am also glad that they are going to introduce the otherside of the army. I am really hoping that they go into more detail about Lilith and which legend they will go with.
great idea, but I would like to see the Test of the Starstone as an AP.
PDF please......
Airplane.. ALways wanted a character that could talk jive.
OH yeah, Ditch Witch's are manufactered here.
When ever you see Timothy Veigh being walked out the court house that's Perry Oklahoma. My friend's dad is the county Judge and another of my friends dad is one of the officers who is escorting timothy to the car. We are also know for our high school wrestling. Most individual state champions, most state team titles, second and third longest streaks for team titles. Also third ring of hell. Happy times.

Season 4 starts this thursday.
We are watching season 3 from Netflicks. This show is great. Thought it was great that for the RotR players the seasons first episode was about Seven deadly sins.

Very cool.
Think I'm going fighter cleric of Gorum, Domains: Destruction and Strength. They both can fit very easily into the role I am looking at. Thank you all for the great ideas and references.
The spells of choice would have been all touch attack, also gives it kind of a mystic fighter, plus undead bloodline has grave touch.
To those interested The HIstory channel is doing a show called 102 minutes that changed the world. It was footage from the streets below towers. MSNBC is doing the today coverage from being to end.
The concept was a gladitoral bruiser. The reason for no monk. Someone who would just use his spiked guantlets to just pound is opponents to death. Just sheer strength and devestation. Juggernaut would be maybe close to the best example in the style of bruiser. Thanks to everyone who has been helping me with this.

Automatically ups your unarmed damage by one step every 4 levels. (3rd level 1d4, 4th-7th 1d6, 8th-11th 1d8, etc.) This I like. Is the whole book good?

I don't think so, reminds me of a power fist in 40K.
I'll look it up, thanks.

I would try to have a spiked buckler as well..
items of interest would of course be Str and Dex items, haste items, and enchanting those gauntlets.
Other feats of note would be Dodge, Mobility, Spring attack, Combat reflexes, Improved TWF, Greater Weapon Focus and Specialization of course...
In addition having an item that allowed enlarge would be of great benefit. Is there an enchantment that allows you to ignore armor? But it does seem that you can either go with a dex based or str based.
What about improved natural weapon, it increase damage by one step. I was hoping that touch spells would make up for damage increase in the monk class.

hogarth wrote: Jal Dorak wrote: Also, remember that you can use an unarmed strike as an off-hand weapon. So any fighter can pull off Flurry of Blows, they just have to invest in Two-Weapon Fighting (and again, it doesn't get better like the Monk ability). I was looking at the same type of thing for Pathfinder (comparing monk vs. fighter). I left out Power Attack so that my average damage calculations were a bit simpler. Also note that these numbers don't include bonuses for enchanted gauntlets:
Fighter w/18 Str
Feats:
Two-Weapon Fighting [racial]
Improved Unarmed Strike [1st]
Double Slice [fighter 1] --> {+3/+3 atk, 6/6 dmg}
Weapon Focus (gauntlet) [fighter 2] --> {+5/+5 atk, 6/6 dmg}
Intimidating Prowess [3rd] --> {+6/+6 atk, 6/6 dmg}
Weapon Specialisation (gauntlet) [fighter 4] --> {+7/+7 atk, 8/8 dmg}
Dazzling Display [5th] --> {+9/+9 atk, 9/9 dmg}
Stunning Defense [fighter 6] --> {+10/+10 atk, 9/9 dmg}
Improved Two-Weapon Fighting [7th] --> {+10/+10/+5 atk, 9/9/9 dmg}
Greater Weapon Focus [fighter 8] --> {+12/+12/+7 atk, 9/9/9 dmg}
Scorpion Style [9th] --> {+14/+14/+9 atk, 10/10/10 dmg}
Gorgon's Fist [fighter 10] --> {+15/+15/+10 atk, 10/10/10 dmg}
Medusa's Fist [11th] --> {+16/+16/+11 atk, 10/10/10 dmg} or {+16/+16/+16/+16/+11 atk, 10/10/10/10/10 dmg}
Two-Weapon Rend [fighter 12] --> {+17/+17/+12 atk, 10/10/10 dmg + 13.5 dmg} or {+17/+17/+17/+17/+12 atk, 10/10/10/10/10 dmg + 13.5 dmg}
Greater Weapon Specialisation [13th] --> {+19/+19/+14 atk, 13/13/13 dmg + 13.5 dmg} or {+19/+19/+19/+19/+14 atk, 13/13/13/13/13 dmg + 13.5 dmg} Wow! this great thank you.
TGZ101 wrote: I don't have my books here and I'm not as familiar with the rules as others, but choosing regular, bludgeoning gauntlets and getting your party mage/sorcerer to cast Greater Mighty Wallop on you might make up for the lack of damage. I believe it's a 24hr. buff that increases the size dmg of a bludgeoning weapon for every 4 caster levels. I'll find out more later unless someone corrects me in the mean time.
Of course, you'd be rather dependent on the spell and a dispell or something could ruin your day, but it's the only way to increase damage that came to me.
Where is Greater Mighty Wallop from?
Hugo Solis wrote: Well, if you don't have claws or at least a large-size creature; its going to be pretty rough. Anothe option for "Monk" is the batlle dancer published int the Dragon Compendium. You can cover most of the monk abilities with feats but the unarmed damage is the serious issue. I can't think of enything else. What about arcane strike? I don't have that book thanks for the info though.

I know it's not 3.5, I just thought this was the best place to post this thread. But yes I am using pathfinder and any other 3.5 ideas.

I too really like this series. Although I will not get this book all my extra money goes to Paizo. I believe Wulfgar was R.A.'s favorite character when he wrote Icewind Dale Trilogy. But the fan's base wanted to more about Drizzt...and Pwent and the gutbuster were the best.
So, what is the best way to build a hand to hand fighter. Does it have to be a monk?

I don't think that would work very well. +1 on 2 stats doesn't really make sense in my opinion. A +1 stat at all is kind of off the track, looking back at the long history of 3.X races having even numbers for their ability modifications.
Also how do you mean sub-classes?
I think if you want to make your human more specific to its home region, do it like it has been done in the FR campaign setting, use your bonus feat slot for a regional feat. This leaves you the choice to make your character more characteristic for their homeland or to build him like an more unusual person, someone who does not go with the customs of their nation. Like the Azlanti gets a +1 to Int and Wis,Chelaxians +1 to chr and +1 Int, Kellids +1 Str, +1Con. etc...

Hah! Yes, I re-watched the special which got me re-thinking about it.
I don't want it to happen either.
But, if it did. What would you do? Are you going to prepare for the possibility at all? We have farm land with fresh well water, probablily hunt the land, and jar veges. We live in Oklahoma, not too worried if it floods the coasts. We have guns too. Same plan if we are over ran by zombies.

Paul Ackerman 70 wrote: I'm sure most of the users here have heard about the Mayan calendar, or the Merlin prophecies or the I Ching, the Native American (Hopi for the main), the Sibyl, and even John the Baptist all pointing one way or another to the world (as we know it) ending in 2012.
The I Ching is roughly 5000 years old and predicts the worlds end via a numerical timeline that follows the path of time until December 2012.
The Mayan calendar predicted (to the exact day) Cortez's arrival.
These people are from different parts of the world, China, North America, Central America, Europe - all from different eras of time - coming to the same general conclusion.
I believe it is the Mayans that mention this more predominately than others but this is where current science agrees;
An occurance that happens every 25,800 years is the Earth the Sun and a Black Hole (which the Mayans mentioned and we've only found ourselves) algin. What effect this will have on us is uncertain.
Either it was a prophecy or an effect of the above but it has been mentioned that the North and South pole may shift. We've came to the conclusion that this has happened before. For example; Alaska used to be part of the equator.
This has been a general review. What are everyone else's thoughts?
The closer the date comes the more times the special will come on the History channels.

Most of the classes could be played as-is, with little modding - they were already different then those in the standard rules. That being said, I would love to see PF Bodgers and Gunmages.
I think it would be kinda cool if PP got onboard with PF rules - simialar to what Monte is doing with Malhavoc. Presenting a 'unified front' is the best was to beat the 800 Lb. Gorilla. I'd totally agree with you about the Dragon Bloodline for the Scharde but frankly I'd want something a little more hellishly evil. Maybe combine the Dragon and Demonic bloodlines. I can't see why a Gunmage or pistoleer for that matter can't use a crossbows.
If it wasn't for Pathfinder I would only play IK.
I also think this is why they created the new country of Alkenstar, that way if IK does go 4e than pathfinder has a place for the people who don't like 4e.
If all elves get the elven racial bonus, why not break down the humans into subraces. That way to put the +2 into str, you must be a Kellid, or Tain might get +1 to Int and Dex. It makes being humans from different area different.
As for the different racially abilities I think the new trait system , is trying to help anti-sterotyping every race.
Here we go Brownies, Here we go. Ruff, Ruff.
And the home....of the SOONERS!!!!!!!!!!!
Did anyone point out that you can get saves from most wizards spells for half damage and no saves verses melee damage. I think it they are equal.

Superfriends with the twins. and the dog
Ewoks

Robotech
Visionaries
LooneyTunes
Snorks
He Man
Gummi Bears
I had idea and a post about having a contest for the best character sheet and Paizo printing it in the players handbook what do you guys think?
I thought it was a light small spiked shield too. I'm going to have a barbarian with paired klars. Thought it would be cool like bigger spiked guantlets.
