thanks for the help. I thought it worked that way but I wanted another opinion. My friend wants to play a fochlucan lyrist and needs to take two rogue levels anyway, but the party has no other rogue. The DM has suggested the first adventure will be trap-filled so I wanted to suggest this route.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

If I start at first level with a rogue , human with the able learner feat, then take all bard levels, can I add 1 to disable device, search and open locks at every level?

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

WHOOO HOOO!

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

thank you Paizo for being the excellent friends and game company we all need right now.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

Nothing to stop DMs from substituting beholders and such into the adventures for other monsters if we wish. I'm sure most DMs around here could manage to do this. :)

As for frog-like creatures to replace kuo-toa, how about bullywugs?

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

please make this! I would also like to see a web enhancement on where non-OGL things might fit in such as: which domains from spell compendium would be offered by which deities.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

are you allowed to use the name or just doing something different?

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

there is a news blurb on sovereign's website and copied on Enworld's news page. It is by Margaret Weis and basically says the same thing as Paizo: the license was pulled by wizards in a mutually agreed split.

I'm running the AoW with a group of five PCs. There were six but a player had to quit due to job. Even at six players it was tough but no TPKs. They have 2 1/2 adv left to finish it and I almost killed two of them last week(The big carrion crawler thingie) I gave them a freebie on it.

For your game I suggest giving the party some henchmen to fill "traditional" roles.

since the modules are starting a few months ahead of pathfinder, maybe there could be some sort of bundled deal for the first few.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

count me in. especially if the two can be combined.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

awesome! I like when things all tie together.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

how about selling ALL of these cards as singles? You could take pre-orders or have ordering limited to once/month. That would hopefully limit your printing costs. This way everyone could order exactly what they want. 1 of each weapon etc., 10 of each potion. plus shipping would probably be cheaper this way.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

the cards don't have to be playing card sized. They could be larger. I think they should be packaged by class -0th to 9th.That way when you start a new char you have all the cards ready to go. I would like to see them include the spells from spell compendium. You have stated you are still on good terms with WotC so would this be possible?

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

Will the new modules be set in the same campaign world as the Pathfinder series?

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

Long live Paizo! My favorite part of Dungeon is continuing, but in a different form.

As a comparison, how many "adventures" worth of material will be in each issue? How many issues will it take to go through the each adventure path?

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

This is my favorite show of all time. I can't get enough of it and it keeps getting better every week.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

I play on a play-by-post site. I can tell you it takes a LOT of work by a large group of dedicated gamers to keep the site and games going strong. There are over 100 members on the site currently and most of them contribute their time and effort to running some of the game boards as well as their character posts. It can be done but it isn't easy.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

Let's see this one added to the schedule. Including a Priestess of Lloth PrC!

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

thank you. I was trying to figure out if there was a significant fifference. I guess there is.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

what is the price difference between month -to month and regular subscriptions?

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

I believe there was errata for the scout class adding open lock and disable device to the class skills.I don't remember where I saw it though.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

I personally roll everthing behind the screen.I don't fudge rolls generally so the players never question it.I also have the players roll all their own rolls(and out in the open), with one exception: an elf or similiar character who walks by a secret door has a chance to spot it,it gives it away to ask them to make that roll.Overall I feel a DM has too much to keep track of to make any of the players rolls for them. Now, to throw them off, I will sometimes make anonymous rolls which mean nothing or random spot checks which basically mean nothing but wont seem made up because I'll add a piece of dungeon dressing.I will sometimes use the prerolling method for combat.I will let a player know one or two places in advance of when they are up and they can preroll their turn and give me the results. As for your problem with the heated debate over the "1" spot check, if the players wont let it go have them roll for initiative and throw a wandering monster at them- that always gets their attention!

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

It is a good book.Lots of fluff and a good read for a fan just by itself.the rules sections don't need a lot of updating in my opinion. However don't forget the players guide to faerun book which updates many FR items to 3.5 and unless I'm mistaken, some of the spells are updated in the Spell Compendium.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

my group played an adventure like this about a year ago.We were all "magically" abducted to some unknown d&d world. We all started off as 1st level human commoners and had to acquire training to get our first actual level. Most of the players went for fighter class as it seemed most logical. It was a lot of fun.As for ability scores we each gave our opinion and then averaged them all together.Amazingly everyone was satisfied and no one balked at some of the low but realistic scores.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

woodland archer-the feat provides 3 tactical options: the best of which is a +4 to hit for each attack following the first attack you missed that round

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

First, limit access to items which boost saves and items which boost ability scores(and boost saves)

As for your spellcasters, try the spells such as fox's cunning they will temporarily boost the spellcaster's DCs by 2

Don't forget to give them spell focus and greater spell focus feats. I personally boost NPCs scores sometimes also.If the PCs all start with 18s in their main spellcasting scores so should the NPCs.

Look for spells that give automatic half damage with a successful save or have no save.Use a conjurer on occasion, the creatures can't be saved against unless the PCs have spell resistance.

And last don't overlook rewarding the PCs for giving emphasis to buying items which boost saves instead of boosting armor/weapons. Sometimes its nice to let them walk over a spellcaster because of being well prepared. They should'nt be punished for it.Hope this helps.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

Don't forget with the arcane archer, with the arrows enhanced for free, you can beef up the bow with various abilities such as speed and you can also put flaming etc. on the arrows.Since the arrows boost automatically, you only need +1 arrows plus whatever is on them.

Also, do you like the woodland archer tactical feat?

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

Tome, did you realize Thri-Kreen can achieve 15 attacks per round by 20th level? With any full base attack class:

Using the multiweapon fighting feat tree, each off-hand gets 3 attacks, primary hand gets 4 attacks, a bite attack and +1 for haste

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

what about the arcane archer? free +5 arrows! Also, what does everyone think of the value of greater weapon focus and greater weapon specialization(both require a lot of fighter levels) vs levels in a prestige class? Is the trade-off worth it?

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

here's my player's party:

human(f) paladin/sorcerer/eldritch knight
catfolk druid w/ sabertooth tiger companion
air genasi rogue/cleric of olidammara/shadowbane stalker
githzerai monk
drow wizard
aasimar paladin

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

What does everyone think is the best race/class combo for an archer character 1st-20th

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

thanks. I was actually referring to the roleplaying stats however.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

does anyone know what book if any the stats and info for the nentyar hunter miniature can be found?

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

I'd rather see an epic campaign arc regardless of setting

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

I feel your pain. This happened to a friend of mine a few years ago.He lost several books, every character he ever made, and his dice collection which was very personal to him.Kudos to Paizo for being such an excellent company.I personally consider myself a lifetime customer and even moreso now.I would like to add that I much prefer these messageboards to the ones over at Wizards, everyone here seems so much more like a big extended gaming group.

signed-Proud to be a gamer

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

I would pay $200 for a boxed set.I would also settle for a Hardcover. The Adventure Path(whichever) is my reason for subscribing in the first place.I don't have the time to put my own campaign together anymore so a prefab adventure is what I need.I am just starting part three with my group and so far they love it.I imagine at some point in the future I could end up running it again for a different group(my son and friends maybe?)and that is when the HC would really come in handy.

As with everything else in life,I believe firmly in paying for quality.I do not want cheap one night adventures.I want an all-inclusive campaign with all the notes, handouts, and maps you can squeeze into it. Even though I am a subscriber I intend to purchase every AP book or box set that you ever end up releasing. After all, besides the three core rulebooks, what other books do you really need to play the game?

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

I would personally change as follows:

put the 14 in CHA
put the 13 in WIS
put the 12 in STR

Your strength is unimportant that's what fighters are for.Make them carry the rope etc.I like a high CHA.I think a wizard should be able to solve things through force of personality instead of relying solely on spells. The WIS can be lower because you will have good will saves anyway. As for familiars...I was always partial to the toad. The extra 3 hit points are very useful especially for a level adjustment wizard.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

I would like to add a vote for an epic campaign arc.Something that could be tied to an adventure path but does not necessarily connect to any particular adventure path.

I would also like to add that an adventure path does not need to place the entire world in danger, just enough of it to provide a frolicking good adventure.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Tales Subscriber)

I would like to see lists of useful things.Examples:
a list of the names and issues of prestige classes found in Dragon

a list of ALL official prestige classes (name only) and the location (book, Dragon )

a list of ALL official spells and their sources/location by school of magic or maybe by other organization

a list of ALL official feats and their sources etc.

If this comes about,I would also like to see a yearly update article. As these articles would basically be lists only, they shouldn't take up too much room in the magazine.
