Hmmmmmm. I kind of like the idea mentioned of allowing metamagic feats to give the use of the feat 3/day for free.
Probably need to use a prerequisites to keep it under control. Like needing a +1 level meta before selecting a +2 etc.
I would like you to consider that the picture of the plague(with multiple dead bodies being carted off) may be a bit over the top for inclusion in the hardcover.
I have no problem with the picture personally, but in same way I would not allow my 5-year old to play Grand Theft Auto, I would not want him to see this picture at that age. Some may argue just limit access. Well that works for a video game, but not for the primary book of a role-playing game which will eventually be used to teach DnD to my kids.
yeah...............
I got that much. I was hoping for a:
last week of July, 1st day of august, last week of august etc. type of answer.
I think step four should be:
Pathfinder: the RPG video game.
This will help me plan the startup of my next campaign.
I looked into printing Alpha when release two hit. Staples wanted 36$ for a color copy and 10$ for B&W. And that wasn't including the extra pages from Alpha three.
OF course the kid at the store couldn't figure out how to get the machine to work, so I couldn't print it anyway.
Now I am just anxious for the book! :)
How about getting rid of the different types of damage reduction entirely?
Just make all DR like the Barbarian's.
I pre-ordered both books. :)
Assuming my group agrees -they are leaning that way so far- there will be six more orders for the main book, and maybe a few more for the beta.
Yes, please do this. The perfect way to introduce new people to the hobby.
Thanks Cosmo. So what happened to all the missing books?
Add me to the list. Order #935615. I got the Pathfinder #9 today but no gazetteer inside. Cosmo, I would like to add that I am willing to wait on shipping time if you want to wrap it into the next monthly order.
I pretty much never use concealment, at least not for cover. I like the idea of an AC boost. Maybe using deflection or dodge as the type? I'm not sure how this would affect the spells though. (blur and displacement). Maybe just cleaning up the wording of concealment would help.
I second this. I would also like to see the playtest reports moved to their own section.
I have no problem with using cards to enhance your game if you want to use them. But I found the number of Magic the Gathering references to be disappointing.
Have disabled run from -1 to -con score. Fighter with 18 con would be disabled at -17 and die at -18.
I'm usually happy when my players can read the PH.
How about giving one skill rank/level as an additional favored class bonus?
I'd just like to see a new conjuration special ability. The current one is nerfed by the school's own first level spell. Unless mage armor is getting moved to abjuration. Or it can be replaced cheaply with a twilight mithril chain shirt.
Instead, I'd like to see a summoning boosting ability or the addition of all summon nature's ally spells to conjuration list as a special ability.
And leave the teleporting special ability at eigth alone. I like it as-is.
In addition to 1 hp/level for favored class bonus, how about an extra skill rank/level?
I like the new druid, but I would like to see the druid get a domain AND an animal companion.
I would also like to see all the new polymorphing spells be named xxx-shape. ex) beast shape, elemental shape, dragon shape etc for uniformity.
Good post Mike, add it to the front page blog.
As for Dm/player, I have opportunity for both, and I like Pathfinder all-around from both perspectives.
Wouldn't the extra rage points from the item be retroactive? All you need to do is wear the item for 24 hours to attune yourself to it.
I can tell you one that I am involved with as both a player and a DM. Check out Woldiangames.com. An absolutely excellent community and a great bunch of people. As an example, not so much as two harsh words spoken on any of their boards over 4th/3.5.
James, just want to chime in with a positive voice, which is sometimes too quiet here. I love Pathfinder as-is. It is exactly the sort of products I like to use in my games at home. Having said that, I have found a great outlet for a more PC-driven game in an online PbPost game where I both Dm and have a PC.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to use this class ability with the new specialist wizards?
And: Do you keep gaining the specialist wizard abilities if you move into a prestige class?
The only thing I thought was broken was giving Holy Sword as an aura. Way too powerful.
My thoughts added to above:
I would be fine with seeing spells replaced with auras. Offensive/defensive and utility?
With getting rid of spells though, I would like to see some restorative abilities. Such as lesser restoration, remove curse, remove paralysis, remove blindness etc.(remove disease) as class abilities.
Get rid of lay on hands and wrap it up into the new turning mechanic. Have turning equal to cleric.
Move the saving throw bonus ability up to 3rd level. Reduces 'dipping' into the class.
smiting- keep it but no special thoughts.
alignment- fine either way on this one.
mount- would like to see alternatives here. If you do keep it, please make it a 'real' horse or whatever creature, not some magically disappearing/reappearing thing.
I belong to a site that is currently looking to add new players. Check out Woldiangames.com
3 out of 7 players in my group prefer fighters. Weak at high levels and all. Its' a matter of play style and preference. So please don't assume that fighters are for beginners only.
I do like the direction alpha is taking the fighter. Could use some more tweaking though. And since a fighter's main bonus is feats, they need some new feats to give various combat abilities not new class abilities.
Ok, thanks for the info.
Is it possible to order items such as Kobold Quarterly or other product to my once-a-month subscription shipment?
Hopefully that will be the end of the problem.
I once dropped a gelatinous cube onto a player from a trap door in the ceiling.
The character did survive, but the gelatinous cube got added to the player's top ten list of things to never do again.
I agree with this also. No PC should be completely immune.
I would also like to see a separate section for playtest reports. And a format for us to use to make the info more useful for Jason and co. Include in the format a preferred method of naming the playtest reports.
I like the art.
I would like to add onto my previous post:
I agree with food/ale types and prices
and lists of names.
My players always have trouble naming characters and usually end up with a mish-mosh of: serious fantasy themed names, funny names, real-world names, and historical figure names all in the same group.
Are these articles being created with Pathfinder RPG in mind?
I would guess that in home games, if the group is going to switch over, everyone will get the new book or share copies of the new book.
And with the convention games, there probably won't be any mixing because the new Pathfinder games will be all Pathfinder and 3.5 will no longer be supported at conventions.
Just throwing it out there.
Considering the huge traffic here lately, I want to suggest an option I have seen on other messageboards:
The ability to set threads so that when you click on them it shows you posts since the last time you looked at the thread.
I would guess this could help the designers around here a lot.
Part 2? Yeah!
Will you be including a skills update with it?
I would be for a module which served up a number of puzzle or challenge rooms with attached story/plot designed for characters of a specific level.
Agreed. I don't mind the non-random figures though. That way I can decide if I want the pack or not based on what's in there.

The background hooks you provided involving Gaedren Lamm were perfect. I would like to see similiar for the future player's guides. My players are terrible at that sort of thing. If I have something I can email to them and say here, pick from one of these, and it gives an automatic tie-in for their characters to know each other then that would be great.
regional feats/prestige classes: These are fine but please don't overwhelm us.
The general information on the region to help rangers pick out favored enemies would be good. This sort of info really helps all classes. My friend recently ran an enchanter in an adventure which gave very little opportunity to use the abilities.
A little less cautious as has been said before. With the wealth of adventure paths we have available to run now, I have been more liberal with the info I give to my players when I start a new one so they can help pick what they would like me to run. I would rather give a little extra info out, and have happy players because they are involved in an adventure that appeals to their style.
What about a page of character drawings that could be photocopied and cut up to tape/glue right onto character sheets? Something similiar was done back in the days of Dungeon.
spells/items- I personally prefer these types of things to all be kept in one place(their own book) However, general equipment/alchemy for the area would be good.
I would like to second this.
And how about a suggested format? It would make things easier to read for everyone.
Do we have clarification yet on the following:
When enhancing the bonded item, does it cost the usual 1/2 item price or 1/4(half of half)?
Does it reduce xp cost as well?
Is the extra spell cast from current memorized spells or anything in spellbook?
I like the Meepo version the best so far. I will offer some comments:
I am starting to like getting rid of x4 at first level. The main thing to address here is DCs ***. I like the 6/8/10/12 progression.
I like changing max ranks to +5.
Continue tweaking the new skill list.
Keep the new alpha system(or something like it) for NPCs and monsters. Simple for DM, leave the complexity for the players.
Int bonus apply retro: yes please. There is no way a wizard will not replace/heal any lost Int. Make the change at next level-up.
Eliminate synergy bonuses.
Add racial/class bonus.
My current preference:
max HD + CON + racial at first level (Racial +2,4, or 6)
-and using the new class upgraded HD
Also- death at -CON
The few extra rounds for companions to save you should give plenty of survivability.
Keep the wis bonus. It makes them crafty/sly.
If you want to give them an ability, how about rage 1/day?
Same as barbarian at 1st, and if they take barbarian, they add the extra to total rage/day.
My only problem with nerfing clerics is that none of my players really want to play one now. If they were downgraded, they would NEVER play them(I know, they're fools).
two downgrades that I could see working:
drop heavy armor proficiency -at least this makes them burn a feat
create cleric version of spellbook.
That would be awesome. I must have read those books 3-5 times each when I was younger.
As to the x4 at first level: If you get rid of it, how does this affect the backward compatibility?
Cross-class- Why not have them buy ranks on a one-for-one basis, but limit the max ranks of cross class skills?
