I think it would help tremendously if: 1)magic items had reduced prices
That way, relative prices would be the same(or tweaked) but you wouldn't have to carry around so much coin. It would also increase the shock value of finding a large stash of coins. Cosmo, would you please check to make sure I am on the monthly shipment for my subscriptions? The last three items(including the Harrow deck from this order) are coming to me separately. I am less concerned with getting a product a little later in order to save on shipping. Also, when I signed up for the Chronicles subscription, I missed the first two items- Guide to Korvosa and Rise of the Runelords Map Folio. Would I be able to add them to a future order(or this one) as a part of my subscription?(along with the PDFs, pretty please) Keep the Vancian. Anything else you either damage backward compatibility or maybe should look at 4th. My simple fix: Alter the bonus spell/day chart for high ability modifiers. Increase the bonus slots for low-level spells. options:
adjust prices of pearl of power at all levels(minor) I like the new turning rules. The only thing I would like to see added is a series of feats supporting it. examples: feat to hit only allies with the healing
My thoughts on paladin and my house rules for it: keep LG!
I give paladins(and rangers) a domain. They only get domain spells up to the 4th level slots.(I realize domains are changed, which I like btw, but this is what I use now.) I bump up the spells to 1st level. An extra clw is not breaking the game. The spell/ day does not extend beyond current chart. I give an option of an extra bonus feat in place of the mount selected from fighter list. I don't give smiting stuff, as extra smite feat is available as well as items that boost this ability. With the new turning mechanic, you could roll lay on hands into turning. Change the front-loaded nature of paladin so it is better for long term and not dipping. Add abilities which make the paladin more clearly defined 'martial' cleric. Keep code of ethics/honor. Here's what I like: max hd plus con at first level(plus feats if chosen) I notice some bad rolls have really hurt char in the game I'm in right now. So I'm going to try something new next time I'm DM: Roll twice at each level, and take the better roll. I like the random factor, and this should prevent successive bad rolls. As for first level, add a minor 1-6 points for race
1)maybe, but holding out for 3.5 to continue with quality publishers
My group is completely indifferent to 4th. Almost none of them spend time on any DnD messageboards and are for the most part completely unaware of the Anti-4E hate. About half of them never bought anything more than two PH(3.0 and 3.5) throughout 3rd edition. We have a weekly game, even with wives and kids. So we get a lot of gaming in. My guess is we will continue with 3.5 until we see how 4th shakes out and if we like the rules once we see them. And yes we have 5 out of 7 of the players have taken turn as DM. So there is a LOT of adventures we have to go through yet. If 4th is high quality, I could see that we would switch regardless of having leftover adventures. But I just don't see it. I am very blah towards the OFFICIAL releases I have seen so far. I am the one who pushed the group to move to 3rd(and then to 3.5) I am not making that push this time. I just saw the rogue preview on the other thread. Very unappealing to me. Yes, I just gave fire shield as an example. I don't usually have these problems. My players don't pour through the books looking for every last broken thing they can find. I'm sure if Robilar's was used as intended, it's not that bad. Another option is to give the baddies blink/displacement. I'm sure there are other options. But you just turn it into a arms race and that's no fun for anyone. Maybe talk to the player about toning it down so you don't have to nerf him? I like the idea of the free pdf's to go with my subscriptions but I don't download them yet. I will prob do so when I actually run the adventures so I can print out some of the artwork to use as handouts. Is there a time limit to download them? What if I get a new computer and want to d/l them a second time onto the new machine. Is that allowed? What if my comp has a meltdown?(this actually happened to me once. My wife called and asked if it was okay if smoke was coming out of the back of the comp?) Will I be able to d/l them as replacement copies? I have to say 3.5 for probably two years at least. My group is not likely to switch unless I nudge them and I am nowhere near sold on 4th yet. We still have several adventures to run through.I just finished 'Age of Worms' a few months ago. (loved it by the way.) Haven't run SC or ST yet, and next time it is my turn to DM I will most likely be running Pathfinder first before those other ones. That's just me. With 5 out of 7 in our group having at one time taken a turn as DM, we could have a long time before running out of useful 3.5 stuff. If Paizo does switch to 4th, I will most likely keep my subscriptions, but I could see my home group not playing those adventures for several years. If 4th does completely wow, I could see us switching sooner. On a side note, I play on a play-by-post site with over 100 very active members, and there is little talk or interest among them for 4th. They live all over the country though so I'm not sure what they plan to do with their home games. waitaminute. We have to BUY the minis for use on the 'dnd table' ? I am going to give 4.0 a chance when it comes out. Though I do not plan to get anywhere near the splatbooks I have for 3.5 But there is no way I will convince 6 of my friends to shell out 10-15$ a month/each for a subscription to this online stuff, and more for the extras? No thanks, I'll stick with pencil and paper. It seems to me many people on these boards and others are saying that if Paizo switches to 4th edition they will also. But if Paizo sticks with 3.5, then that's where they will stay. Paizo could very well determine whether 4th edition lives or dies... And since Paizo listens to their customers, I'd say we do have a voice on this new edition after all. I was thinking recently since we are soon starting a new campaign at my local game that there is something missing from your product line which could prove very useful. character sheet folders. The ones on the stationary sections of stores never seem to quite do the job perfectly. Considering the extremely high quality work coming from here lately(and as always), I thought I would throw the idea out there. I think it would make a great addition to the gamemastery line. ok, more info as requested: I was making a dwarven cleric. warhammer and shield; war, time and courage(I like the spells) for domains. I hadn't forgotten about spells, I was just trying to concentrate on items and feats to see if I had missed anything. I missed the MIC item that lets you use increased weapon size, I'll have to check it out. Does anyone know if the 4th level dwarven substitution level counts as weapon specialization to qualify for melee weapon mastery? My goal is to add everthing I can think of to my char base dmg.

did I miss anything?
