First, I have to say: awesome, awesome, awesome. The first is for you creating this product, the second is for the actual product, and the third is for making it free.

I have two questions.

1. you do regular revisions/updates, if I have downloaded the program, do they automatically upload the updates or do I need to reinstall the new version from your website when you produce them?

2. Will you be putting in the Skull and Shackles AP NPCs/encounters in? If so do you have an approximate time frame (no pressure from me to put them in...I know real work/life needs to come first. Just wanting to know when I should check as I am currently running that AP).

Dear Mr Jacobs,

What is the likelihood of including a pronunciation guide of people and places listed in the AP's and Modules in the Stat block next to the persons/towns actual name?

How to pronounce several of the names in APs often confuse the groups I play with and I as a GM would love the assistance. (I sometimes find I confuse the players by pronouncing the name differently in a different session and I know it has also happened to me when I am a player).

Several times as a Player I have I have thought there were two different people when they were the same NPC because the GM forgot how they said the name in the previous session.

Select Sorcerer as a class

Select the Wildbooded Archetype on the Classes Panel

Go to the Sorcerer Panel and select Sage from the Mutated Bloodlines.

I have been using it for a while.

Still a bummer that it doesn't do Gestalt or a progression report. Mind you the Spell lists are now pretty good. It gets better with every new release.

Hi Guys,

Loving Herolab, but I have a question, I have purchased the Ultimate magic license have renewed it, and can see several different archetypes for sorcerers but not the sage sorcerer. Has it not been included??? or am I missing something?

The only archetypes available for me are:
Crossblooded
razmairan priest
seeker
tattooed sorcerer
and Wildblooded.

Anyone have any information that would explain this??? I wanted to stat up a sage sorcerer for this weekend.

I’m looking for a couple of additional players for a Pathfinder campaign that will commence in the near future. The game will be run weekly via text-based chat on Tuesday or Wednesday nights between 8pm - 11pm AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time, which is GMT +10).

The campaign will start at Level 1 and use material from; Core, APG, UM and UC if desired. Expect a balanced mix of lethal combat and solid interaction across a variety of environments. Naturally, players with Pathfinder or 3.5 experience preferred but not essential.

I’m an experienced DM/player and have run many such games before via PBP, chat and tabletop. If you’re interested, available during the above times and willing to commit to a long-term campaign, please send me a PM/email or respond here.

Hi guys,

Simple question (I think.) If a ranger with 2 weapon fighting goes up to level 6 and now has a bab of +6/+1, does that mean he now has 3 attacks in a full round? Or just that his two normal attacks get +6 on the first attack and a +1 on the second attack in a full round?

You just get the Core rules, Adventure Path material, Gamemaster's Guide, and I think maybe the Inner Sea World Guide. The remaining books are purchased as bundles via the Wolflair site and are added to your license for the software (you don't have to download anything additional...the material is present in what you have, its just blocked until your license is updated).

Just bought Herolab, (not yet received it) but I am a little confused as to what is covered in the $26. Does this give the core books, all the current bestiaries, APG etc. I have briefly browsed this list but the only info I saw was for something in 2010 and there has been a lot released by paizo since then.

Just need to know if I have to purchase other packages as well as it takes some time to reach me in Australia.

Just checking, order 1510698 is still showing as Pending, is there something in it that is stopping it from being sent straight away or am I just too impatient and it hasn't had a chance to be sent yet :-) I created the order on the 15th of Oct :-)

just wondering cause I was going to use several of them in a game coming up in a couple of weeks. If there was one or two things stopping it from being sent, I would be happy to have the rest being sent straight away

How was it?- well I started reading it last night at 7.10pm and finished it at 1.30AM this morning, which believe me, was unintentional as I have work today. I just couldn't put it down.

The switching of main characters in each chapter was both annoying and riveting at the same time. You get to the end of a chapter, get to what is somewhat of a cliff hanger for that character then you get the continuation of the next characters story... it was driving me crazy cause I wanted to find out what had happened to the other character, but as I read on in the new chapter and got to the end it, I wanted to find out what was going to happen to that character and so it went on and on like a merry-go-round. Please be aware that that I say this not as a criticism of Dave's writing but as a huge compliment cause he kept me hooked and wanting more and kept providing it!

Actually, if you are aware of the old style Dr Who shows it was like that - a cliff hanger waiting to be picked up for the next exciting episode. Every chapter was like that, every single one…hence no sleep for me because I just had to know what was going to happen next.

The writing was very descriptive allowing for a rich tapestry of imagery in your mind while being very easy to read and not bogged down in detail (which is sometimes a problem when someone is describing a fantasy setting). The pace was good (well great - hence my inability to put the book down)

I particularly enjoyed the characters development and discovery, especially Azra and Radovan and really hope Dave gets to write more about them.

All up I think this was an ideal novel to start the Pathfinder Tails. I really look forward to further novels by Dave and am now keen to see what the other authors are going to produce!

honestly, with all the issues I see constantly in this section of the forums (damaged shipment, partial shipments, duplicate orders, etc) I have resolved to NEVER subscribe to any products or ORDER from the paizo store.

Not to say I dont LOVE pathfinder. I will just make my purchases at my LGS to ensure proper payment and physical quality.

I take that back...I'll still order pdf's.

There is nothing wrong with supporting your LGS and many people have chosen that over subs with Paizo for very good reasons! However, I think you should know that after being a subscriber to Paizo since 2007 and having over 78 sets of items (both subs and individual items for birthdays, Christmas etc.) sent to me over that 3 year period, I have only ever had one problem.

My postman left my (very large, several books including a few hard cover copies) packages out in the open and then we had a rain downpour all day. It ruined my packages. I contacted this forum to ask the customer service people what was the best way for me to re-order and pay for new copies for all the books that were now useless without mixing up my future subscriptions. I was very pleasantly surprised that Paizo said not to worry about payment and that they were sending replacement copies free of charge. Now I live in Australia and this was a big order and add together postage you were looking at about $US170-200. This was not Paizo's fault but my lazy local postman yet Paizo rose up and beyond expectations. This is not a stand alone case. Look deeper into this forum and you find there are many stories like this.

I say all because as I said originally there are very good reasons to support your LGS, however, concern about the quality of delivery and the service provided by Paizo is truly not one of them. I just thought you should know!

Offhand, and I haven't searched yet, what is "Coils of Set"?

"Coils of Set" is by Necromancer games which takes PCs from 1st to 13th level and beyond. The Author is Ryan Henry. It is for D&D 3.5. It was written in 2006

I think I bought it from RPG games (but I'm not sure). It was part of a set of adventures from Necromancer. (I got several other Necromancer PDFs with it). However it is a stand alone adventure made up of three parts. Outside of Paizo products, it and "Red hand of Doom" are my favorite adventures so I am currently running it and would love to see if anyone else has converted it.

Am I missing something here? Does it tell you anywhere if this is just one archer or several? It keeps mentioning "Archers" in the description but doesn't seem to say how many but the picture is only of one Archer.

Well talked with Priest and Woman politely on there views of the club and there main concern was like some one said Mazes and Monster the idea that in the dark days of D&D people commited suicide or so the media claims. But I did take the advice given and read my gamemastery guide at the public park today and a older man asked are you the young man that put up the gaming flyers and I told him yes he goes i think that was a good idea help keep kids off the street and cut down on vandilism he asked how it was going and I told him about the priest and mormon woman he said hed take my number to give to his sons cause hthey used to play d&d and they may be interrested in having there sons play.

Hi Ghandi92983, If you talk to the priest again, you can explain the misconceptions of the media (suicides etc.) and explain they are wrong in the same way that some media often portrays that every Catholic priest is a pedophile (a bit extreme I know but he should understand that people that have a "problem" with the church are really good at making a lot of noise about a bad minority in the church's history. Always dragging the churches name through the mud because of individuals that don't follow the teachings of the church in the first place). Obviously you would have to point this out in a delicate way.

It may also help to point out that D&D is a narrative in the same way a movie is. Its the telling of a story that people interact with and the content is within the same vein of CS Lewis's Narnia series (who is a strong christian writer).

Anyway just some quick thoughts from me on a difficult problem for you. Either way I hope you are able to get it up and running without attracting the wrong (and incorrect) attention.

That just shows you how absolutely crazy the postal shipping system is. Especially when there is a really good chance that they went out in the same bin on the same day. And they could arrive at radically different times. Which is why we ask people to wait when they think a package is lost. :)

Perfect example of this is when I ordered a bunch of miniatures with my normal subscription packages. It was spread out over two boxes. The boxes left Paizo the same day but I got the first box on a Monday but didn't receive the second box until the following Tuesday, 8 days later. I was getting worried but Cosmo calmed me down until the second box arrived :-)

I am actually the GM, I am just checking as I have NPC's that float in and out as required (I am running a campaign with just 2 players) and wanted to check what spells the NPC Sorcerer would have chosen as CG.

From the above comments I will use and allow anything that doesn't have the evil descriptor. (I don't want the players to think he is evil and be confused as to whether he really is good, or evil pretending to be a friend etc.)

Hi All,

Two Quick questions:

1. Can a Chaotic Good Sorcerer use necromancy spells that do not have the "Evil" descriptor? Examples include "Chill Touch", "Cause Fear", "Bleed", "False Life".

2. I assume the CG Sorcerer cant use necromancy spells like "Animate Dead" because of the "Evil" descriptor. Is this correct?

I'm scrapping this list and starting a new first-come-first serve list for first time PBP'ers. I apologize for those who are losing their earlier positions in the queue. But I plan on running two games at a time, both of which are going to be short Pathfinder Society modules. So I'll be running games for about ten new people every two months, so the wait shouldn't be as long.

The new cleric lists as they arrive aren't a problem, I'm the GM :-). I am running a new game and we are all new at pathfinder but one of the players won't always be able to make it, so when he isn't there I will be running it as a NPC/GMPC, when he's there he is running the character.

Neither of us were sure how to interrupt how to do the spells. This has helped us immensely!

Hi Guys,

Cleric spells are confusing me. I have two main questions.

I have a Level 2 cleric who has 19 Wisdom (+4).

As per the chart on the Pathfinder SRD I get one extra 1st, 2nd, 3rd and forth level spell due to high wisdom.

On the Cleric's table I am told I have four 0 -level spells, two 1st level spells as well as the 1 domain spell

So when I combine the two together I can see two possibilities

The first possibility:

At second level my cleric gets

four 0 level spells
three 1st level spells (2 from the cleric list and 1 from the high Wisdom)
one domain spell

The second possibility:
four 0 level spells
three 1st level spells (2 from the cleric list and 1 from the high wisdom)
one 2nd level spell (because of high wisdom)
one 3rd level spell (because of high wisdom)
one 4th level spell (because of high wisdom)
one domain spell

Which one can I currently do? If it is the first possibility I assume I am able to add the 2nd, 3rd & 4th extra level spells when I go up to the appropriate level?

My final questions is regarding the spells I can choose to cast. At the start of the day when I meditate to get my spells, am I able to choose from the entire list of spells that are available to me? E.g. If I have access to first level spells can I chose from ALL the 1st level cleric skills (barring alignment restrictions etc) OR am I limited to only certain level 1 cleric spells I may have chosen when I first was able to access level 1 spells. basically, I am asking if I can chop and change the spells every day depending on what I might think is coming up that day.

Hi Guys,

part of this order arrived on Friday 7th of May (Australian time) namely 2 x Pathfinder Miniatures: Goblin Pyros (4) and 2 x D&D Miniatures -- Angelfire: Dwarf Mercenary.

However, the larger part of the order has not yet arrived. Should I be concerned? Its now late in the afternoon on Thursday the 13th of May in Australia (after the mail has been delivered for the day)

Ok Guys, Tonight my two players draw up their ranger characters. After they have done the characters, I am going to run a few brief encounters to get them used to Pathfinder.

One of the players has only played 2nd Ed D&D and the other is a completely new player. Anyone have any advice on what sort of encounters I should set up to get them used to the rules?

I intend to set up encounters which have a diplomacy, perception, stealth, acrobatics, knowledge and survival skill checks and then have skirmishes which require grapple, being flat-footed, attacks of opportunity, Aid another, total defense, withdrawing, charging, flanking and difficult terrain.

Anyone think of anything else I might need to demonstrate??? I think that might be enough but I am certainly open to ideas. I am particularly interested to get any feedback from anyone going straight from 2nd ed to pathfinder (or 3.5 for that matter) and what they found the hardest to adjust to rules wise.

Just saw your suggestion on the "Stolen Lands" thread about Conquest of the Bloodsworn Vale. I really like it. I can run the first chapter of Kingmaker, add some encounters from the Bloodsworn Vale module to make sure the players are at the right level and then continue with Red Hand of Doom. I think that will work really well. This will be a Ranger's Feast!!! You have to do that blog, that way I can steal more good ideas from you ;-p

Yes, This is starting to sound like what I might do, just got to briefly look at Kingmaker online and Chapter one seems like it could tie nicely and then I can feed in events for Red Hand of Doom. As I would only be using Chapter one and maybe some of chapter two of Kingmaker I won't run into the problem W E Ray suggests above.
