Well my family motto is “If you think he’s dead shoot him again”. I come from a strange family that was deported from Ireland to Australia to a penal colony and then 2 years later was thrown out of the penal colony and shipped to America for being to violent. I have looked into this and from the records he had a dispute over some money and he killed all of his horses, sheep, and his dog and nailed it’s head to the guys door over less than a dollar.

What I learned from gaming is how I got past the ages of 11 to 18. My parents moved a lot when I was younger and I used gaming to find friends. I would get into a new post every 2 to 3 years and they always had postings on the rec. boards for people looking for players. It allowed me a shy kid to find people and to have something in common to talk about. I think back now and how it helped fend off the fear of losing all your friends and the aloneness that that brings. So I am very thankful that I started gaming and am sorry I got away from it during the 2 ed days but I am back in full swing now.

I hate to be the pratical one here, because I also think they are lame. The ads are working even if we all hate them. Everyone here is reading them and remembering them and thats what the PBM company wants.

Rock on I want the shirt and the bumper sticker. I would order it the first day.

Well I quit my 55K a year job running a national chain restaurant. I took a 33K a year job in customer service manager for a cellular company just so I could spend more time playing D&D and such. I am infinitely happier as the stress level has dropped. I recommend it if you can get away with it. Oh and I drive a windstar its old but it’s paid for and for fun I have a little red 85 Fiat x19 that is fun to drive

Our favorite battle cry from our group must be one of two:
Fe'Milken the misunderstood half orc barbarian liked to yell "Don't worry I will lie to your widow that you died fighting like a man"
Or
Crunch the Warforged fighter “Die or else, well you are going to die so there really isn’t a choice”

SPOILERS

I agree with treehouse, my group just got done with "chimes at midnight" after running "Murder" with Victor as a main NPC character. I got rid of the watch involveing the players and had Victor bust into the Tavern where my characters were in and arrest Vrinn(SP). In the fight in the bar my PC jumped into the fight and help arrest the bad guy giving me agreat introduction for Victor. I then had Victor pull them into Murder and at the conclusion when the thought all was done with Murder I ran the street escape event in Chimes and the ball was off and running. Definatly push the time crunch to solve everything it wil make it more exciting for the PC's. Mine almost ran out of time and ended up cutting the hand off the prisoner to get her free before the bell dropped. These two adventures work outstanding together. Have fun with then and that was my 2 cents.

I guess I must be in the minority from what it sounds like. In our group we have never had any one be cought cheeting. We have found our share of mistakes on dice rolls from wrong addition or one too many spells for a level. When that happens we have an open admission of error and we remove the extra spell (this has only happened once or twice as we have newer players). For character creation I got some index cards and I rolled and put scores on the card and had each player pick a card and cam arrange them any way they would like. I guess I must have either a realy honest group or I am completly in the dark.

How about option B with a twist. In Dragon give a general accounting with a poster map and then as a online suppliment put the real meat of content that way you can satify more people. The ones who are not interested will not feel that they are wasteing their money on information they do not want. The ones who want the full details will be able to get the information they want online.

My inner geekness started with a stolen copy of the Hobbit. I went to my Grandma's house for Thanksgiving and my uncle who was about 16 at the time teased me witht he book. He told me that I was much to young and could not understand the book ( I was about 9-10 at the time). I managed to get the book away from him before I left and started reading it. I was hooked hard and fast I read all night and hid in the basement reading the book. I was so facinated by the book I stole it from him and had to sit with the guilt and fear that my Mother ould find it on the way home for 6 hours. When I got home I finished the book in about 3 days and then read it cover to cover again each week till christmas. When we went back up there for christmas I returned the book and dropped it behind his desk so when he found it I would be nowhere near the crime. It only tool me 20 years to admit this to my mother and uncle who then told me he knew i had the book the whole time. So for the first time in 25 year a big public thanks to my Uncle Chris for starting me down the path to my inner geek.

I can defiantly understand this thread. I had my car stolen about 7 months ago from the parking lot at O'Hare. They recovered my car about 4 days later stripped of everything. I went down to the impound lot to look in the car and see if they left anything. They took everything from the glass to the carpet and dash. I managed to look on the floor by were the passenger seat was and the only thing they left after sitting on the streets of Chicago for 3 days was my soundtrack CD for The Life of Brian. So I certain that thieves do lack a sense of humor and taste.

Well I shall date myself here but in the ipod in the car we are presently listening to on the CD changer
John Denvers Wildlife concert
Def Lepards greatest hits
Some Itialian chanting monks
Some Black Eyed Peas that my daughter left in the car
I know kind of lame but I have a 50 min drive to work and need calming music on the drive home.

Well as a parent, I used D&D as a teaching tool for my daughter whos is now 14. She started to show interest when she was about 6 or so. I modified the rules a little so that to find out if she hit the monster she had to spell out one of her spelling words for the week. We would write them down and roll a dice to see which one she had to spell. We also worked on the basic math with regular dice rolls. We also when she started to play the claranet made a Bard together and she would ply for her spells(great way to get her to practice)When she was older we looked at world history and led our armys to victory together. D&D as stated is great for improving imagination and decision making. She is now playing at the big table with the rest of our weekly group and enjoying it each week. In parting the best advise I would give is keep it short keep it fun for both of you and enjoy the major quality time that you will spend with your child playing D&D.

Just for my two cents..I am just glad that Paizo when asked about not haveing avatars of different cultures and diversity. Thay have responded immediatly and are working to add more images to choose from. Great job all of you and thanks.

Okay, I might not be the only one thinking this, but dude! Any chance you live in Richmond, VA and have anopening at your table? I'll be there every week, early even, and bring whatever books/modules/etc you want. I've been collecting the stuff for years and have had little opportunity to actually play because my gaming group all went out and got lives. I've got one as well, but I'd be willing to sneak away for awhile :)

Sorry Springfield Illinois and we wre looking but just found the last player. Poor us she is not in the food business but works our local Pepsi distributor and now is in charge of the drinks. PS this week it was Thai and one of the guys brought this peanut shrimp stuff with coconut milk that was awsome.

Alas for our poor humble gameing group, we are a funny mix two of us are in customer service and alas are religated to bringing the drink (AKA the good old Dew but now the diet variety) and some old fashion bags of chips and such. The other four members of our group all work as professional chefs (including the one who is a baker by trade) and we have a different mix of food every week. You think gamers are competitive wait tell you get gamer chefs going out to one up the other. This week was the seafood gumbo week and I was the lucky one to get the leftovers. We have had everything from lobster to legs of lamb curtasy of nameless restraunts. I like the middle eastern ideas and I cannot wait to mention them this week and will see what happens............
