All of the dungeon dressing pieces are wonderful. However, I do think you have to look at their availability per case. It seems many are interested in these pieces so why not test a separate line of simple dungeon dressing pieces? That would allow persons that don't want them to ignore these item and ones that do getting the numbers they want instead of having to try and chase them for ridiculous prices on the aftermarket? I like the idea as a terrain collector, but the Pathfinder offer has not met my needs or interest. I think the idea is fantastic, but you have to rethink the sale strategy.
The unicorn is nice, but I have way to many already that my interest is very limited. I have yet to use any that I do have.
Hey Cat-thulhu, thanks for asking. Yes, it is the coloration but also the "beefiness" (yes not really a word but I'm sure you get my point). I know WotC made them red to brown, but I always looked at hobgoblins a bit more rotund and/or musculature. Maybe it's just me. Here they could pass for gray skinned humans with elven ears.
I am very happy to see huge over the gargantuan case incentive. I think this was a great idea and as was mentioned by Flurious Firestar, huge see way more action! Great choice.
My next polite question is how rare is it for "3rd party" distributers to get cases of yours? Do you ship once to them and that's all or are they able to get re-orders of your cases? I haven't gone to the Paizo case incentive yet because I'm not sure I want every case, but I do use other sources when needed. Is there a limited run on cases such as Rusty Dragon Inn or not? Thank you!
Still waiting for my set, but moving forward I would suggest terrain pieces that are only needed in limited supply. This way when we get 1 of each we are satisfied and not longing for more (I know this may not line up with your sales perspective). A nice brazier, altar, fireplace would all be welcome. Things like beds are needed in such supply that it can be frustrating.
I really think a fey set is the way to go! There are so many cool fey creature (good and evil) that need to be done. Whose game hasn't traveled through the forest and just thought of the fairy folk taking control! Fun, fun, fun! However, I can't diminish the want and desire for devil minis! I have enough demons, but would love some more devils!
I haven't had my case shipped yet because my credit card had expired on the site (who remembers to update all sites that have your credit card info until they remind you - EZPass, stores, etc). So, I received an email the other day that I needed to update it. All good. However, when I went to update it they asked for an almost $20 charge to re-update my credit card!!!! I've never heard of such a thing in my life so sent an email to customer service! That's ridiculous! I just started with my case subscription and this is what happens! When I saw the email I immediately went to update my credit card with the new expiration date, but when they said there was an almost $20 fee to do it I stopped and was quite bothered!
Erik, please tell me this additional $17+ charge is a mistake so I can get my case and continue my subscription!
All three of the center bar pieces look different? It was said 2 cases would get everything you need, but what's the deal with the three different bar looks? I can't even get 2 cases, but was curious about why there appears to be three different looks not including the end pieces? That would be insane! I hate the idea that I need two cases to get what's displayed to begin with! Please tell me I'm wrong and misguided tonight!
My question is why is he blue? Am I missing something here? I thought Pathfinder goblins were green?
I guess the dungeon dressing pieces are OK for those that have none, but most would need many, many crates and barrels. Not a fan of such simple dungeon dressing pieces not being common. Should have made more intricate pieces represented as rare for the dungeon dressing.
A unique drow would be awesome! Drow are a big draw and including one or two in a set would without question garner some interest! I have every drow ever made, but making a few rare drow minis would be a good selling point in my opinion.
I'm always looking for more of the common type creatures such as lizardfolk! That would be awesome. My choice for needed minis would be more svirfneblin and derro. I would love to get some leader type rares of these races, but I know Paizo doesn't like to make small minis rare. I'm fine with it as long as it's great!
The Large Cobra is great due to it not only being large, but simply being a great sculpt! Large snakes are needed! The Mouth "gibbering" Horror is very nice. I can use more of this beasty!
The cruel conjurer looks cool, but I certainly don't need more than 1 of these? I'm confused why this was made uncommon. This mini is certainly a 1 needed kind. How many characters are you going to encounter all levitating on the same swirling green energy. Once again looks nice, but no need for multiples. Put it as a rare and maybe add a little something extra to it.
I'm a huge fan of the dungeon dressing! In my opinion there is nothing wrong with more than 1 cauldron and in reality hope I do get 2-4! Prior to getting my DwarvenForge I was never a fan of terrain pieces. However, once you go in this direction there is no turning back! 3D terrain, dungeon dressing and awesome miniatures by Paizo makes some real good set-ups! I think it's a great idea for Paizo to try this out. In the end they can decide on whether it works or not!
I 2nd the thought of making 1 of the 2 boggard minis common and making the goblin uncommon. At this point there is a much greater need to have more boggards than goblins. If this could be considered it would be a huge advantage to the set. All look quite nice. I'm pretty much done with my need for goblins right now.
Pazuzu looks awesome! If you want you can certainly use the mini as an aarokokra leader or lord which I'm thinking of! Either way, fantastic mini!
The City Watch Sniper is a nice mini, but from my perspective does not really fit in with the other city watch! Let's be fair here Paizo! Great mnini, but lets not stretch its usefulness.
The firepelt cougar is awesome just because I like animal type creatures. I can fairly make out some difference in the spine coloration which I hope makes the difference for it being a firepet!
That large bronze dragon looks awesome. I'm usually not a huge fan of the chromatic dragons because they simply are not the enemy. However, this dragon is simply amazing and I am very excited to get one. I think all 3 are great. As to dragons being released in soon to be released sets I'd prefer not, but I'm OK if they were. In general I have way to many dragon minis. If you're going to make dragon minis in soon to be released sets make them of ones that have not been done prior. This would deliver interest! Also make them so cool, like the bronze dragon that people can't resist! Once again that dragon is freakin' awesome and I'm not a dragon mini fan of any type!
I know I'm late to the party in discussing fey, but I wanted my voice to be heard as someone that supports the idea greatly. We definitely need more fey creatures. They have been severely under represented in minis. This may be impossible to do, but putting 4 tiny minis on one small base would be ideal! However, with that being not probable I would prefer the tiny mini to be on a small base for stability. However, I do like my tiny minis on tiny bases as well (just looks and feels right). Dealing with one or two tiny mini on a game surface is not a big deal, but if you were using multiple then it could become a pain with their stability issue. A slightly, and I stress, slightly oversized tiny mini would be fine. I do want much more fey and have been requesting this forever. Brownies and atomies would be awesome.
Link is broke. I love all 3 and am fine with a sword wielding dragon type! I'm not familiar with Triaxus, but I am absolutely OK with the minis! Great job! I look forward to getting them.
Erik: Don't be overly concerned about minis such as Triaxius. I think your biggest concern should be when you present modern minis. That's much more of a contention for some than cool looking fantasy type creatures. These all look great!
I'm good with all three! Agreed that the one pic is quite blurry. The Triaxian's can easily pass for catfolk and we certainly can use some more of them. However, I may just have to try the race as is if they have some common representation in the set. I'd have to have minions for the leaders as these would represent as rares.
Count me in as a big fan of the animals. I like them. I'm not sure if I really needed the raven, but we shall see what it looks like on release. In the end I'm always good with animals to add a more realistic element to our fantasy world. Of course in the end they will attack! Animals are always good, but it would be best if they were ones which we haven't seen before in plastic. I'm very happy with these!
I love the goat and owl and common is all the better. I can use multiple goats. What other way to make them scare my players with "over the hill you see a horde of goats charging towards you. They seem to be gaining momentum as they are now running down hill directly towards you"! I love the more mundane animals although I'm sure there are some that do not. However, that is the case with most minis!
Nazenha Vasilliovna looks quite fabulous as well! Great set of minis!
Hmmm, never even considered gargantuan coming in multiple pieces. I'd much rather prefer them coming in 1 piece. I've never had a problem with my gargantuan packaging and them coming intact? Why would I want it in multiple pieces if that's the case? I guess in the end it depends on what most have seen happen with their gargantuan minis, but I've never heard any problems from the folks I know?
Hodag is awesome! I'm a huge fan of animal type/monster encounters, especially large! All too often large figures give an automatic assumption of unbelievable strength. Now I'm not sure of the Hodag's strength, but it does come across as a type of reptile so regardless it will work for me as some sort of large lizard to have fun with. The Marid is gorgeous. The others are fine as well, but nothing I'm drooling over. Have way too many dragons!
Where in the description of supernatural abilities does it state that it doesn't require any hand movement or vocal sounds? Yes it does not incur an AoO, but it doesn't say in the description anything in regards to a supernatural ability not requiring the murmuring of some sound?
Just curious and not trying to start a major debate. I really want to get this right when ruling it on my game table. I did state to the witch player at my recent game that their cackle did require sound. The reason for this post was because admittedly I wasn't sure if my ruling was correct or not and neither were they!
I think they are all quite nice and undead are always a must for any gamer. You can never have too many. Both the wight and zombie have a nautical feel to them which I like. Still are wights and zombies, but would do well for undead pirates or something. Very nice set.
I think a set revolving around fey creatures would be a nice addition. They are a somewhat underrepresented creature type.
Rat Swarm is nothing great as they should be flat, plus I already have rat swarms. The other two are quite nice. Ambrose is very nice. Although she looks typical any, good DM can use this mini to fool their players into innocence and then.....! Love this mini. Now, I am not saying to make every mini a simple, typical one, but give this type some character and potential and I am satisfied!
I want to add my support in releasing the huges in this manner. The dragons look great, but hopefully we can get other types of creatures in these sets. Although I understand the interest in dragons they have never been one of the most used creature types for my pc's to face. I think in general games that I have been involved in don't have a need for huge numbers of dragon minis.
I think these are fantastic. The shark is a much needed mini and looks great. For sharks I have used the WotC Dreamblade Dreamreef marauder. This mini shows only the fin, but there was nothing else available. Until this! Great! Absolutely fantastic! Now, I have never even heard of weresharks before this preview, but now I like! I think these are fantastic minis and am very excited to get all. I have clamored for aquatic minis for years and years and finally my desire is being answered!!! Thanks! Please bring us more!
