As for how that last post relates to gaming... there are actually a ton of queer folk at Paizo. We've always been very forward about saying as much, but many of us have remained quiet about who *specifically* is LGBTwhatever. Part of that is just a personal privacy issue, but I know that I've sometimes second-guessed myself about such public declarations for fear of unexpected future awkwardness.
But you know what? Especially in the current political environment, the greatest thing any of us can do to advance equality is to simply live openly, and in doing so remind folks that non-straight people are all around them, all the time.
F+$& discretion. Thank you all for flying the flag.
Necroblivion - I am pretty sure you'll like this. It has this dark, twisted vibe I love and that one can also find in TPK Games-products!
Allen, I not only liked this, I LOVED it. This ranks among the best small pdfs I've read in quite a while! I really hope my review gives this one a bit of the publicity it deserves! Great job!

Wow. I'll admit, I thought this was going to end poorly- this was the last proposal I read, and I'd seen mention of your proposal being an outer space themed adventure in comments on the other entries. Given that, I entered this expecting a way too ambitious 'I'm going to explore new territory' type entry. But it's not. You bite off exactly as much as you can chew. You're not expecting to somehow be able to fit in 5,000 words on outerspace or other planets; you smartly keep it completely confined planetside. Honestly, for purposes of a proposal, I think it was smart to present the hybrids like you did, showing that you're NOT going to try and invent the wheel. If your developer says 'Give me something better than boggards and lycanthropes' then great! If not, you've shown you can keep it lowkey. (Though I am glad that James wants something better than boggards, because I think these guys do deserve that much extra.)
In short, this blew me away. I've always said that,in the final four, nothing else matters but your proposal; at this point, it's all about what's on the table and not what you've done in past rounds. And, while I haven't thrown many votes your way prior to this- I think I voted for the phasic ravager, but that might be the only one-this wins my vote completely on its own merit. Good job, best of luck.
And I am now really happy about being a backer of Sailing the Starlit Seas, because even if you don't get the title here I know at some point I'll be getting topnotch spacey goodness that you're involved in regardless.
Tonight I will be trying that Vietnamese restaurant I've been meaning to try.
Mmmhmm. Pho sure!
I'm hoping that, when Distant Worlds comes out next week, there'll be a bump in pledges. Or maybe even a surge.
I'm #36.
In case no one else has started a thread yet:
Congrats to the PMG and Sara Marie on the birth of the Teter Tot!
WOOT!!!!
Yep. I'm on board too!

I realize my post came across as somewhat condescending, and I apologize if it did, Aretas.
To elaborate on my point: I can't help but think that if you spoke with any gay person, you would have difficulty making the factual claims you have been making. I make a point to interact and get to know as many people as possible who are different from me: different races, different religions, different national origins, different sexual orientations. One cannot fully grasp what someone else's life is like based on articles, statistics, or web searches.
If you are looking for statistics on gay discrimination, you won't find them. Why? Because no one is keeping track. They don't exist.
If your response to me is suggesting I should educate myself on some other group - Christians perhaps, or people with a conservative mindset - I have, as many people on these very boards can attest. I am actually quite well-versed in Christian teaching, and would never begrudge another person their views.
Your posts, however, which contain statements of fact that reveal to me that you don't know all that much about the lives or concerns of gay people, rub me the wrong way. We can disagree, but I think we all benefit when we try to understand each other.

Tome of Horrors Complete and Book of the River Nations: Complete Players' Reference to Kingdom Building. I wouldn't be surprised if Psionics Unleashed sold of 1000 copies as well, but I don't know for sure. There might be one or two more, but they are only 1 or 2.
200-300 is a smash hit these days. 50 is more realistic.
I am by no means at liberty to talk about sales numbers of anyone. However, I'm going to say that Dale knows what he is talking about (in many ways). You should listen closely to what he has to say here.
Mike, my drake brother! Congrats! Now go get yourself that module!

Sooo...this is more like spelljammer, then? Neat! But we NEED Space Hamsters! Rupert shall rise again!
*chants*
Doughty hamsters! Hamsters bold!
Hamster fearsome to behold!
Horned, wined, ethereal,
Arctic or arboreal.
Fire breathing, armor plated,
Perilously underrated,
We admire, reverently,
Your infinite variety!
Stalwart hamsters! Hamsters fierce!
The belch that quells! The teeth that pierce!
From whiskered snout to stumpy tail,
Your gallantry and grace we hail!
Chartreuse, ochre, mottled, plaid,
Or in golden raiment clad,
Radiant in any hue –
Wondrous Hamsters, we love you!
Noble hamsters! Hamsters free!
Wooly Rupert send to thee
Blessings and felicity –
Hamsters! Hamsters! Praised be!

I'm certainly excited to be working on the project!
Folks, nobody forced us to do anything. We completely and voluntarily fixed the artwork in such a way that we felt it no longer needed an adult warning. We could have released the book without the Pathfinder logo but chose this route instead.
The folks at Paizo are all 100% awesome. Well, except for Bulmahn, he's only 98% awesome. ;)
This was a SGG decision, one we feel is the best one for the company.
Now, we might release the original version someday when we form Evil Genius Games...
Welcome to the thread Lunalynx.
In other news, my middle son is successfully installed in his dorm room at the University of Minnesota - Morris. Now we are back on the road for our 21 hour drive back to Texas.

Please just stop it. Nobody wants to buy randomized miniatures and your product isn't enhanced by it one bit. It's just 100% customer screw. I don't care how well-done you think the miniatures are, I'm not buying them randomized.
I get that you are not enthusiastic about this plan, and I respect both your opinion and your decision not to buy them. That is, of course, your right as a consumer.
That said, the idea that "no one" wants to buy randomized miniatures is absurd on its face and demonstrably untrue based on the huge number of orders we have seen for this product in just the three days since we announced it.
I think there is a tendency among gamers (or perhaps just humans in general), exhibited several times in this thread, to equate "I do not like" with "no one likes."
Very seldom does the world work in such absolute terms.
Hmmmmm. It has been a week since anybody's seen that mustache...
I think everyone is missing the point, here. This is an ability that modifies a dice roll, between two NPCs, with no player present. Obviously, it is meant to make your GM go insane role-playing out scenes by himself! :D

So unless a real study on marketshare or sales is made public, I just don't see this. I actually heard from somewhere that Pathfinder and D&D now have a roughly equal share at the moment. Afraid not. Scott is totally right here. Pathfinder has surpassed D&D in most of the markets that I check.
Thanks for ninja'ing me Scott!

Also it is a ridiculously gorgeous day today. Gonna go down to the waterfront and get oysters!

Is there a T-shirt that says "You're all just NPCs to me"?
If not, there should be.
