Dotting, this looks super neat. Would you consider allowing the Malefex third-party class? It's kind of like a debuff-focused roguelike class. With Guns Everywhere being a thing, I think I could go for an interesting debuffer/sniper.

So Dimensional Excavator stacks with Moonshiner...this could be interesting. Because you know what's better than a brawl where everyone's wasted? Random holes opening up in the floor in the middle of a brawl where everyone's wasted. Might go for it, although I wouldn't want to become a hindrance to the party by...you know, making people fall into holes.

Of course I would forget to do that. I think I have it fixed now.

Looks good on my end! Might try and roll up a Moonshiner Alchemist, never seen it before but it looks fun as hell.

So how will campaign settings be done in the future? Will they continue to be done country by country-for example, Realm of the Mammoth Lords (hint hint) or can we expect a Saga Lands sourcebook?

Just got it, thanks a lot!

Hi,

I'd like to cancel both my Pathfinder and Starfinder Adventure Path subscriptions, please. Thank you!

Think I'm gonna make some kind of Inquisitor-it's one of the few classes I've never played, so it'll be interesting.

I'm Eastern Standard time, in 4 other games at the moment on these forums. I'm cool with any kind of maps, I've had good luck recently with Google Drive-in my opinion it's a bit easier to use on mobile, but Roll20 is also fine. I've GM'ed a very small part of book 1 of Reign of Winter and I read the first 3 books about 2 and a half years ago. I'll try and get the actual character build up either later today or tomorrow.

EDIT: I don't usually go for 3rd party stuff, but what do you think of the Witchknight Inquisitor Archetype? It seems super thematic for this campaign, and doesn't seem to be overpowered at all.

Dotting! There was another RoW recruitment that is just about to end, I wasn't able to get my guy statted out with a backstory and everything in time. Should be able to get a submission in for this one, though.

Still working on my character idea, so I’ll answer these questions in the meantime:

How much experience do you have in RPG’s?
I’ve been playing RPGs, and Pathfinder specifically, since 2012. It was my first RPG, and the one I have the most experience with.
How many PbP games are you currently in? GMing?
I’m currently in 3 Pathfinder PbP games, and 1 Shadow of the Demon Lord game. I don’t really GM anymore, I’m not very good at it.
Have you played, GMed or read Reign of Winter? Note that experience will not rule you out.
I’ve GM’ed a very small part of the first book, that fell apart rather quickly due to the aforementioned suckiness at GMing. I read the first 3 books in preparation for that game, This was in 2015 though, it’s been a while.
Can you post at least once per day M-F 90% of the time?
Yep! If something comes up, of course I’ll let you know.
Would you, if requested, provide an actual email for contact if you ghost the game?
Sure!
As there any other information you would like to share?
Don’t think so! I’m still figuring out what to build, I want to do something kind of casty. I was thinking an oracle, or possibly the Sylvan Trickster Unchained Rogue-something that doesn’t necessarily depend on casting, but still can do some magical stuff.
Do you understand that you need to track XP and other resources for yourself?
Yep! It’s been a looooong time since I’ve done that, but shouldn’t be too hard.

Dotting!

Male Gnome/Devil Sorcerer 13

Hey guys! I'm the new guy, just working on my character now. Gonna be making a Goblin Criminal/Wilderness character. Beyond that, not sure how he's going to turn out! Just gonna do my rolls right now:

Spoiler:

Criminal Profession: 1d20 ⇒ 8 Forger
Wilderness Profession: 1d20 ⇒ 13 Prospector
Goblin Age: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 1) = 5 Adolescent, 7-10 years old
Goblin Build: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5) = 14 Pudgy
Goblin Distinctive Appearance: 1d20 ⇒ 1 Long, pointed nose
Goblin Odd Habit: 1d20 ⇒ 17 Wears a child's costume and refuses to take it off
Goblin Background: 1d20 ⇒ 3 Accidentally got your entire tribe killed
Goblin Personality: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 3) = 15 Your people don't deserve exile, but exile you got. You believe you will make places for yourselves and prove to those stinking elves they were wrong.
Starting Wealth: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2) = 13 Getting by, with 1d6 ⇒ 4cp
Interesting Things: 1d6 + 1d20 ⇒ (2) + (17) = 19 A mirror fragment that shows a strange location on its reflective surface

Think I got everything. Gonna bang out a character and I'll be joining you guys soon in game! Really excited to be here.

Seems pretty awesome. Dotting.

Gaah, sorry-I didn't have enough time last night to write something, and I'm feeling pretty beat today after work. Have fun with the game!

Dotting! Been meaning to try SotDL for like a year, I'll get something up later tonight after work.

I'm still working on my character, hopefully I'll have it done soon.

Thinking of doing some sort of Rogue, because between that and Alchemist that's what I usually gravitate toward. If I took the Sylvan Trickster archetype, would there be a problem with using the suggested fix of using your rogue level as your effective witch level for hexes? Otherwise RAW the entire archetype is slightly trash.

Dotting! Gonna peruse through my list of character ideas , see if anything stands out for this campaign.

Seems pretty cool. I'll be watching this one.

Here we go, this is my submission. In a perfect world I’d be building an Herbalist (Mycologist), but I have a feeling that’s a pretty popular class and I’d be willing to switch to a similar kind of class. I know that Alchemists and Witches have a decent herbalist build, so I don’t mind switching if need be.

Spoiler:
Name: Trinn
Race: Goblin (of course)
Alignment: CN
Role: This one seems like it could be up in the air. I’m only just reading through the Herbalism stuff now, but it seems like the Mycologist is an insanely chaotic master-of-none type of class. I enjoy support-type builds, so hopefully that’s where I’ll end up gravitating towards.
Picture: I’m using the character Vial-Smasher the Fierce from Magic: The Gathering as my inspiration for how Trinn would look. Not sure if there are any red-haired goblins in the Paizo avatar bin though, so my alias would look different. Note that this is how Trinn sees herself, not how she really looks-that might change over the course of the campaign, who knows?
Personality: Trinn is a younger goblin, who took over the position of “Head Plant Grower and also Healy Person” after the previous Head Plant Grower and also Healy Person Marta choked to death on an apple. As Marta’s apprentice, Trinn got the job, even though she had only been apprenticing for about 2 weeks and had shown little interest in actually learning how plants worked. Trinn preferred instead to just eat pretty much anything she came across and hope she remembered later on what happened afterwards. When she has to actually help someone out with a remedy, she often seems indecisive, offering one plant and then at the last minute throwing it away, saying that actually “it was THIS plant you should take, the other one would probably have killed you”. This isn’t to say that Trinn isn’t talented-she is. While Marta was good at keeping an organized (for a goblin, anyway) garden, Trinn goes out into the woods for hours on end and then returns later, pockets overflowing with weird mushrooms and herbs that people were sure had never grown in the area before. Trinn is also weird for a goblin in that she is actually pretty quiet. She has a weird talent for actually listening to what other people are saying, which also has the unintended consequence of being talked over when she finally has something to say.
Virtue: Trinn’s a pretty smart cookie, and doesn’t often rush into things. Instead, she usually takes like...at least a second or two to make sure that her immediate plan of action won’t kill her horribly. And for someone who eats mushrooms for a living, that’s a REALLY good thing.
Vice: She’s shy. Like, really really shy. You don’t become someone who eats mushrooms for a living out in the woods by yourself unless you’re painfully afraid of talking to other people. To everyone else's’ credit, they’re trying to get her to come out of her shell a little. Throwing someone in the deep end and forcing them to cover for an entire goblin tribe’s worth of herbalism and plant based remedies is a fantastic way of forcing someone to interact with people and not just plants/fungi. She's still pretty prone to getting walked over by other goblins, and she's not much of a leader. Definitely a bit more of a follower.
Theme Song: I’m thinking the Trailer Park Boys theme. It’s kind of calm, but if you know anything about the show (or goblins) you know that it’s just kind of masking the chaos that can happen.

I think that’s it! Let me know if you have any questions or anything.

Herbalist does seem awesome, I'm reading the rules for it right now and the Mycologist seems like it's absolutely perfect for a goblin. I might want to do that, not sure if I'd want to mix it with geologist or anything.

Spoiler:
Right? There was a period last summer where my phone couldn't even load the Paizo site. That was a pretty bad time. It's still slow as heck now...

Dotting! Thinking of digging out an older concept for a Sylvan Trickster UnRogue.

Alright, here we go:

About me:
So I’m Alex, I’m from Western New York (so Eastern time zone). I actually work in the public school system up here as a teacher aide, so I’m in the same boat as you-I have a little more free time for the next few months and want to get some Pathfindering done during the summer, and throughout the rest of the year, too.

I’m fairly good with Pathfinder, I’ve been playing for almost 6 years now. 3rd party I’m not super good with, I’ve got a decent amount of experience with DSP’s psionics (but then again, who doesn’t?) but that’s really about it. I’m a pretty quick learner though, so I can probably figure out Spheres easily enough once I actually sit down and read it. I enjoy roleplaying, although the nature of PbP forums sometimes makes that a little difficult-there’ve definitely been times in the past where I would write a longish post, only to hit ‘preview’ and see that someone else posted and kind of undercut what I was about to say. But that isn’t to say that it can’t be done, some of my favorite roleplaying moments have been on the forums here. I love rolling dice, I love making a character who’s fun to play and play with. I think my opinion on interparty conflict kind of matches up with everyone else’s here-as long as the people playing the characters are cool and it doesn’t lead to the game going off of a cliff, go for it.

I’ve got a decent amount of experience doing PbP, and I try to keep up with my campaigns as much as possible, which can sometimes be a little rough when life gets in the way. I really try and aim for at least a post a day, either in gameplay or discussion, even though I’ll admit that sometimes I fall behind if I’m using solely my phone for a few days and it doesn’t show that my campaigns updated. It’s something that I’m really trying to work on, though. I’m currently in two campaigns, a Strange Aeons one and a more freeform one about setting up a trading post on the Sellen River. They’re fantastic, but I gotta say-I’ve been itching to play another Goblin campaign. There’s something about all-Goblin campaigns that turn the shenanigans up to 11. I love those little pyromaniacs. If a game is slowing down, I generally try to just make sure that people know that I haven’t abandoned the game in the Discussion section-I know I hate when I see the notification that there’s a new gameplay post, only to see that it’s Bobby posting again and not the GM (or whoever was supposed to be up in initiative...that happens a lot in my games, it seems).

I think that’s really it, I’m honestly pretty flexible with what I build. I gravitate towards Alchemists (my all-time favorite character was a Monkey Goblin Alchemist (Vivisectionist/Beastmorph/Dimensional Excavator) who would rip people apart with his bare hands. He was fun.) but I think this time I’d probably play a more traditional spellcaster if I had the choice-maybe a Witch, or whatever the equivalent in Spheres is. I’m cool with filling pretty much any party role though. Thanks a lot! Any other questions, just let me know.

Dotting! Love me some goblins.

Dotting, I've had an unclaimed summoner build floating around in my head for ages. I'll try and get something up tonight.

I'm thinking of some sort of Cavalier. Not sure what kind though. Just out of curiosity, are there firearms in this campaign?

I applied for this last time (Roger McFarren) but I actually got into another game as that character. So, looks like I can make pretty much whatever. What roles would you guys say need filling? Definitely looks like you're fairly frontline-light.

Hi,

I'd like to cancel my Pathfinder Roleplaying Game subscription, please. Thank you very much!

Dotting! Let's see what we get here for rolls:

Level 17:

1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Level 1:

1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

This sounds really interesting, I'll be following this one.

Dotting! I'm hoping to do a half-elf Sylvan Trickster unRogue. Gonna try for a kind of "fish out of water" theme-someone who moved to the city and immediately got crushed by it, now he's trying to rebuild his life.

I'm going to have a build up hopefully tomorrow, but I'm currently leaning towards a Blight Druid debuffer/controller. Not sure which race yet.

Gonna dot, also going to roll for tiefling/aasimar stuff just in case I decide to go that way:

1d100 ⇒ 91
1d100 ⇒ 17

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Please keep Alchemists what they are now-a ridiculously malleable class that you can build to do just about anything. Along with Bards, they've become pretty much THE jack of all trades class, with an enormous variety of build options that drastically change the base class. Please don't make them just a generic "blowing stuff up" class. Kind of going off of other people's fears about archetypes, I'm really worried that we're about to lose a lot of the Alchemist's versatility.

Dotting!

I'm always up for a nice evil campaign. Dotting!

Perfect, gonna try to make a Toxin Codexer investigator if that's alright. Seems like a really interesting take on a poisoner.

This sounds cool, dotting. Just making sure, investigators aren't allowed?

Crud, there goes that idea. Back to the drawing board.

Dotting for a dwarf paladin (stonelord)/inquisitor (monster tactician).

How're we doing HP after first level? Working on a Tiefling Witch, possibly using the Winter Witch archetype. Still not 100% on that part though.

I think I want to try for a witch, so going to go for INT focus, STR foible.

Strength=Foible
Dexterity: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Constitution: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Intelligence = Focus
Wisdom: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Charisma: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Not bad. Looks like it would come out to a 29 point buy all in all, I think. I can work with this.

So is the gun level still roughly the same as normal Golarion? I'm thinking of making a Gun Smuggler Rogue, with your approval of course-I get that some of the wording (especially the Black Market Connections) could be slightly problematic for a cop.

This sounds amazing. I am so interested.

Pathfinder could be neat, the area of Ustalav is pretty perfect for a game like this. I had a gm once who used the skinwalker race as a playable lycanthrope-he took the feat "bat shape" and basically applied it to all skinwalkers for their respective animals. It worked pretty well, actually.

How are we doing Hit Points? Full HD at first?

EDIT: Might as well do starting gold:

Gold: 1d6 ⇒ 1 x10 = 10

Oof.

Still interested, tentatively thinking of a Hive Warrior. The whole "can't speak" thing is going to be interesting.

Sounds pretty cool. Are occult classes okay? I'm not sure what I want to play, *possibly* a kineticist? Or maybe a mesmerist, although building one that would be useful against robots could be tough.

That sounds awesome! I haven't played a vigilante since it first came out, so I guess I need to relearn the class and all the new archetypes again...
