Sorry bout that. Honest. I love this board but I get a bit testy sometimes. I really didn't mean anything by it. I love that feat. I try to take it any time I play a multi-class caster.

Not to be rude, but has anyone actually read Practiced Spellcaster? it seems to me that no one has. sure, it gives you a +4 to the caster level of a spellcasting class, but only if you have 4 more levels in another class (or +1/ extra level). This is hardly an earth-shaking improvement. Your durations go up and Spell Penetration chance, that's it.

This thread just tells me that people just want to complain. The biggest problem my group and I've had with the improved hit dice is... wait for it... Nothing. In fact, we were excited as can be about it. People actually wanted to play Pathfinder wizards! I was amazed, to be honest. The wizard class has one of the best overhauls in the game and btw, my wizard has made it to 2nd level in our campaign and has taken a beating to get there. I'm usually hiding behind our brute types, but this time I've been throwing spells and mixing it up. Not in melee mind you, but kobolds with javelins and darkmantles can ruin your day.
Hopefully it was more than just the 1 hp or so per level that made people suddenly want to play them. The "complaints", I'd say observations really, are more from the DMs PoV. Anything that boosts the power of a class is probably just peachy with any player...

I GM a Pathfinder game as well and have no problem with any of the changes.

Hey all! I'm James and I'm looking for 2 or 3 folks who would be interested in joining my 3.5/PFRPG group. We are 3 members right now and looking to expand. We have a place to game(my house) and a flexible schedule. Drop me a line here or at aegrist13 at yahoo dot com.

Well, as Firefly showed us, in the future we're all going to be speaking in American English and Chinese. We should just all realize this and prepare. Now, if The Brown Coats had known this earlier...

I consider myself lucky just to have found a copy of the Brick. My group is about to get into it hardcore style. I'm jazzed about the prospects.

That just flat-out rocks!

I'm GMing and running our second adventure, Crown of the Kobold King, Friday. So far the only thing we've had a problem with was the damage for Channel Energy, and that was only because it's in a different section of the book instead of being under the Cleric entry.

This is kinda like Games Workshop. If you look at the fine print on one of their products they claim to have trademark status on words like Chaos, Empire, Elves and the like. These are words not ideas. It boggels the mind. No wonder they're called the Evil Empire.

In my groups opinion, the Alpha 3 is great and we've not had as many problems as others(maybe cause we aren't sticklers for the rules). I hope Beta smoothes out the bugs we've found and expands on the great system Paizo has made unbelievably amazing.

I want my money back!!! That was almost worse than In the Name of the King.

My girlfriend and I saw this piece of crap the weekend it came out and I WALKED OUT 30 minutes into it. Kinda like Peter Griffin at Failure to Launch. Done!!!

The original Dragonlance Novels hooked me and never let go. I still re-read them every now and then. The movie is crap btw.

I can't wait to read this!!!!

I have to say that I love Frank Herbert's work and can read Dune in one sitting. Never boring. Wheel of Time started good, in my opinion, but when I needed a notebook to keep characters straight, it dropped quick. BTW, what is the deal with all the complaining women. If you want a strong female character you don't write them like these broads.

Some folks just go looking to borrow more trouble than they really want.

We've got 2 LGS in the area, Dr. No's and Hobbytown USA. Dr. No's loves Paizo and carry alot of product. I picked up Hangman's Noose and The Pathfinder Gazeteer there. They also were very informed and even recommended(pushed) a few Gamemastery products. Hobbytown is more of a Warhammer store with RPG's on the side. We used to have 2 or 3 more stores, but they've since gone under. There isn't a very cohesive gamer community in the metro Atlanta area and frankly a good portion of it is frightening. i think that that hinders the growth of the industry in and around the area.

[Frylok] You can use the shower at our house, Carl.
[Carl] Yeah, cause that's what I want, to be nude in your hause.

Man this really sucks. I live in Dallas, GA. The closest store to me is Newnan that is about 75 miles away. Savannah and Athens are out of the question. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed I can get a copy on Monday. It is already bad enough I am going to miss the con exclusive at Gencon this year. I have every other Paizo D&D module so I guess I'll be up all night Sunday to Monday morning to get my copy. Any idea what time they will be available for order Monday morning?

I live in Dallas, Ga as well and was very pissed that Dr. No's wasn't participating. Free Comic day was a blast there, I wonder if it's all the card gamers that mob the place.

Yeah, um... It's a full 3/2' we got good schools.

I got a question, does the blood flow up the walls?

I've been playing a character going for the Fochlucan Lyrist PrC. It takes a ton of skill points and three different set of class abilities that takes reaching 10th level to accomplish. It also makes for some great role-playing and campaign set up. Everyone in-game thinks he's a bit of a kook for all the things he does and all, but out-game my friends think it's a great idea even though it doesn't offer much power-wise.
Level dipping is a must for this PrC, but I've seen and played in games where it gets way out of hand. Generally it's a third party PrC that's too powerful and makes no sense in-game. We've gotten to where we only allow PrC from WotC only products. This is probably going to change with PathfinderRPG however.

I think that UMD is a hold over from 2nd edition where thieves could read scrolls at 9th level, but it has a lot of other uses(I'm not getting into what they may be, cause I can't come up with any at the moment). The CHA ability is used to show the force of personality used to "convince" the item that you can use it. This kind of slips into the whole "Concentration should be a separate skill and Spellcraft rolled into Knowledge(arcana)" fiasco. It should remain a separate skill that should be accessable to Bards, Rogues, Sorcerer and Wizard classes. Using UMD to disable magig traps/locks is interesting. Making UMD a class ability is also an interesting idea. I

Would it be too late for me to join in? I've been wanting to do a PbP game and always seem to find one too late.

I retract my earlier post and agree that the DC's should be CHA based. After playtesting with my campaign group, it makes sense since the school powers are spell-like abilities and not spells in and of themselves.

Thanks a boat-load Vic! That cleared it up. Good on ya!

I want to start an Adventure path subscription with Second Darkness, but when I add it to my cart it doesn't give me the discount. Could someone explain this to me? I just don't want to jump on in the middle of a Path. Btw, what about the Second Darkness Companion? I read in another thread that it was free with the Second Darkness subscription. Is this correct? The thread was a bit confusing.

I seriously loved this strip and miss it. Is it gone for good?

Sleepwalkers!?!?! Really? I love it. Bubba Hotep is the best camp around and Sleepaway Camp is so bad it's good, especially the ending!!!

Find Andoran along the Inner Sea. Follow the river running through Andoran from the sea north. You'll find Falcon's Hollow.

You need the Gazetteer map, but this will do alright for now.

That's the blog's preview map, the Gazetteer's map was changed since that was posted. So it's in the right area but the geography around Falcon's Hollow has changed.

Now I feel like a big dork! :) I spent a good 15 minutes looking at the map before I posted and couldn't find it. Thank you, Sir Urza!

Am I just overlooking where Falcon's Hollow is located? I can't find it on the map (or Darkmoon Vale). Does it have a specific location or is it left up to the GM? Any help would be welcomed.

I hate the mystic theurge and eldritch knight and similar classes. You take either one class or the other, not both.

But of course, multiclass casters are a bit of a problem. In 2nd Ed. a 4/4 character was about equal to a 5 character I belive.

I think I would allow a feat, that allows you to pick one spellcasting class you have. You can add half the ammount of any other class levels you have and add it to "caster level" for the chosen class. Levels in prestige classes, that grant a raise in spellcasting ability, are ignored for this ability.
No new spells, no additional slots, but spells become stronger and last longer.
This feat can be taken multiple times, but each time you have to pick, it applies to another spellcasting class.

I know, more of a home-rule suggestion, but oppinions on that? ^^

Practised Spellcaster from Complete Arcana gives you a +4 caster level bonus to one spellcasting class. Granted you have to have levels in another class whose HD total 4 more than the casting class.

Dallas, Georgia!

Then they need to put it back. It makes the item or familiar a prescious resource that's not to be used willy-nilly heedless of danger. If they don't, I'll have to house-rule it in my game.

This has got to be a typo. Seriously?!?! Some of you consider this good? I've already marked it out and put a note on the side of the page.

Perhaps it could be tweaked to make it more like a familiar by having it cause damage to the wizard if destroyed. And why would a wizard not take other Item Creation feats? The Bonded object only functions for them, it restricts the casting off spells unless worn or held(make a Spellcraft check vs. 20+ the spells level or lose the spell). It seems to me to function like a Pearl of Power. This doesnt seem like a huge increase to me.

Oratory, song are a sure choice for this ability, others could be used but I'm not able to form a concentrated thought at the moment.

Indeed. Oratory, String and Wind instruments and Sing would fit much better.

Exactly! Especially since the ability produces a Mass Cure Light Wounds effect.

Druids don't have Diplomacy as a class skill any more. I'm assuming this is becayse Wild Empathy just has them roll 1d20 and add their class level. Does anyone know if this is correct? Monks no longer have Knowledge(religion)? Sorcerers have Intimidate, yet the Abyssal bloodline gives it to them as a part of the package for that bloodline. Anybody got any feed back?

Soothing Performance not allowing music(srting, wind) as a type is bogus. A song to heal wounds and calm the mind? Anyone ever heard of this? Honestly, I've already scrapped that as a house-rule for my campaign.

I'm not a fan of the "allowed performance types". Soothing Performance(?) and music isn't a choice? Does anyone else have a problem with this?

I would love more equipment space and fixing the ability/skill mix ups.

I went to Staples yesterday and got it printed double-sided black and white with a color first page and color perfect-bound cover for $14 and some change. It did take a little while, though. They didn't seem to know what they were doing.

I also am super-pleased with the Bard!! This was all that was holding my character creation back and tonight playtesting will begin! Thanks Paizo!!!

Apparently I'm one of only a handful of folks who have No problem with the multi-classing rules as they are. Most of the problems that people keep posting can be handled in-house in their own campaigns and don't need to be changed in a system that is going for backward compatability. I really enjoy multi-class characters and even encourage them, with a good backstory and reason of course.

Having just bought the hardcover Ptolus and planning to use Pathfinder in that setting, I'm almost speechless. This is indeed a great day for gaming.

Bardic Music should incorporate magic more and heroics a bit less. Doesn't it state in the PHB that all Bardic spells have a Vocal component? I've always played this as playing a soothing tune after battle to cast a healing spell, and yes, healing spells should stay.
