Abbas was born an orphan in the city of Katapesh and was raised in a temple of sarenrae. At a young age he advanced to the rank of priest in his temple. At a the young age of 16 he began to speak out against the slave trade that runs rampant through Katapesh and various pesh dealers whos wears corrupt many within the city.
After four years his sermons caught the ear of one of the more prominent and viscous night stalls merchant lords.
One dark night a few hours after sunset prayers while Abbas was praying alone in the sanctuary Abbas heard the crash of glass and the roar of flames as pints of burning oil crashed though the windows. The flames quickly consumed the wooden pews and flooring. Abbas fought the flames furiously with the help of the other priests but to no avail, after the flames receded the temple was nothing more than a scorched hollow shell. Abbas spent the following weeks attempting to find those responsible but the authorities were no help since destroying a church of sarenrae does not disrupt trade. Abbas had finally had enough of the corrupt city of Katapesh and set out to find a place to build a new temple.
After nearly a year of travel Abbas entered the employ of a pathfinder hoping to get pasage to the new world and bring the light of sarenrae to the far reaches of the world
