Yeah, ummmm, I was thinking of that too. ;) In one of the Tome of Horrors or Creature Collections (I don't remember which), there is a creature called the Jungle Squid. The picture shows it sitting in a tree, ready to nab unaware passersby with its tentacles. CR 16. Edit: I don't mean to disparage those books. I love them. All of them. But c'mon! Jungle Squid? You CAN be neither for nor against something. It's called neutrality. Being neutral does NOT mean that you are against something. That's why they call it neutrality. At work today, I couldn't stop thinking about "sparp." All. Day. Long. It's gone to my head. No matter what I was doing today, I was thinking, "Sparp." "Sparp." "Sparp." "Sparpen my claws." Sharoth, I apologize for giving you a bad time about your typo. It's not good internet manners..... But it was such a good typo!! You should be proud of that one! Oh Lord, I'm losing it. Sparp. I love new races! I plan to add quite a few to my Pathfinder games. When it's all said and done, I'll probably have over 30 playable races. If that sounds like too many to you, please realize that I am not letting them in until I have a good understanding of how they fit into the world of Golarion. Also, I want the bad-guy races to remain bad-guys, so I won't be letting many of those in. I'd like to post the entire list that's up for consideration, but I'm afraid of getting a negative reaction from the boarders when they see what I've got planned. (Mwahahahaha!!) I will post the list (and my renegade concept) later on when I've got things more set in stone. That said, here a few favorites of mine that I'd like to see used more often: Kenkus! I love these crow/raven-people. I imagine them being like pigeons in the sense that you see tons of them in any big city in the world, but not in the country. They'd be a nuisance race. Thieves. Beggars. Obnoxious merchants of worthless trinkets that won't take no for an answer. Ibixians! The Goatfolk from MM3. I see them as the inheritor race of the dwarves. The dwarves are dying out and they know it, so they are prepping the ibixians as their heirs on Golarion. They are moving into many of the abandoned dwarven ruins to further the dwarven culture there. Silverbacks! Awakened gorillas is something I've been cooking up for years, and planned on implementing into my Pathfinder campaign, and then BAM! Paizo did it for me! They are even calling them silverbacks. But they made them bad-guys-- which is cool-- and I don't want to take that away, so I found another niche for them. It's quite the backstory, so I will have to reveal it later, but I'm pretty excited by it. Alright, that's all for now. I'm going to do full write-ups on these guys (and more!). I will probably post them to the boards. Trent William Pall wrote:
I take it you've never heard of All Purpose Cultural Cat-Girl Nuku Nuku? I like it! Good cover! May I make a suggestion that may improve the look? Pull back the "camera" so the illo doesn't spill off the page so much. It seems that there's more to the picture that I'm not seeing. Okay, there may not be more to reveal, but pulling back the camera would alleviate that sense of "where's the rest of the picture?" If you did that, then I would feel like I was looking at the whole scene. I totally understand if you disagree. Either way you do it, it's a great cover, I can't wait til I'm holding it in my paws. There ARE demigods. The main difference betweens them and gods is that the demigods have stat blocks whereas the gods do not. The latest Pathfinder (#9) has a stat block for a demigod in the Bestiary. Mosaic wrote:
Indeed. I've recently read an article about modern day slavery. It said that there are more slaves in the world today (including the U.S.) than in the entire 400-year history of the Atlantic slave trade. Russ's game was a lot of fun. He took an adventure that he had originally written for Greyhawk and adapted it for Golarion. He said that it wasn't hard to do. I enjoyed seeing Pathfinder redcaps in there. And even though we didn't exactly complete our objective, I enjoyed the outcome. Something about seeing a guy get get his brain fried right before you get to him, and then realizing he'll never be the same again is somehow... satisfying. That sounds crazy! I mean it in the sense of a satisfying plot twist at the end of a story that says "Gotcha!" I played a dwarven fighter. I used the new Backswing feat A LOT. It's very effective. Thanks for running that game for us Russ! Trent

Erik,
What got me thinking about this was this: The day before Paizocon, I found an old Tarzan paperback written by Fritz Leiber. That would be a priceless gem to SOMEBODY. I told some fellow attendees about it the day AFTER Paizocon. Someone said, I bet Erik Mona would like that. And I went, "D'oh! I should've got it for him!" Erik, with your network of fans, you might find those rare books that you just can't seem to locate. So post your wishlist here! I be happy if I found one of your missing treasures for you. Trent PS James Sutter or any other Paizid, feel free to post a wishlist, too. Thanks, for the report, Pete! I was wanting to do something similar, but you did it better than I would have. But let's not forget the prizes! There were enough to go around so that every attendee got something. I won a copy of the print eddition of Kobold Quarterly #4 [Donated by Wolfgang Baur. Micro Review: It rocks!] & a Dungeon Magazine poster signed by Wayne Reynolds. I think 8 of us attendees got that. Other lucky attendees won:
I'm doing this from memory and I can't remember everything. Was there a Kill Doctor Lucky boardgame in there? I think there was. Maybe the rest of you can help me out here. Sound off and tell us what you won! (Wether I already mentioned it or not.) Also, every attendee recieved three packs of Hero's Hoard Item Cards Thanks to everyone for the generous gifts! Trent I also want to add my thanks to everyone. Thanks to all the Paizo peeps for showing up, answering questions and running games. That really, really, really meant a lot to all of us that attended. Thanks to Tim, Lilith and Takasi for slamming this baby together. And to everyone who donated prizes. Thanks to Chris for splitting the cost of a room with me. Even though I didn't get a chance to talk to you guys, thanks to Steven and Rodney from WotC for showing up. I apologize for my "If you've ever rolled a craft check, then you are not having any fun" comment. Lol. I don't have any ill will toward WotC or anyone there. :) And thanks to all the attendees for being lots of fun and really cool to hang out with. And thanks to Burgermaster for making a Tom & Jerry milkshake. You're welcome, Chris! The pleasure was all mine. I hope to see you again next year!
