For instance, there was once a user here - I won't mention the name - who, well-educated though he was, was infamous for trolling. That user eventually left, but every time I see someone, such as zylphryx, post here using that avatar, I instinctively think "Oh no, not HIM again!" I immediately realize that it's NOT him, of course, but I've been conditioned. Maybe training yourself by avatar might not be such a good idea.

What?!?!?

Nobody loves Zoidberg!

It's like the ghost of poster's past. Well played indeed.

Hey! Don't bogart my alias!!! It's all I have in this world.

Dimissive post regarding flame war including a large number of "facts" that are really poster's opinions disguised as such. Lots of historical data and large words included to show that poster is Very Smart.

... another politics thread.

If you knew anything about democracy, you would know it was not started on the internet. It was started by John Adams, who in turn stole the idea from Ivan Peter Freely. But of course, Ivan created the whole 5th Century notion of the perfect message board post, which in turn inspired nazis and war crimes conducted exclusively by the political opponents who I won't name, but who should be implicit from what I've said so far.

So, no, democracy doesn't not work.

Please don't waste anyone's time further. You clearly have nothing worthwhile to say on this topic.

Spoiler:

How's that for a politics thread!

Opening statement.

Witty, sarcastic remark to endear the reader to the author.

Statement of opinion.

Anecdotal evidence to reinforce opinion.

Allusion to opinion as fact.

Inflammatory remark to engender hostility with other posters and prompt response.

I wonder if this might belong in the Word Games section?

Post that answers the OP, ignoring all prior posts regarding the topic and re-igniting forgotten flame wars, drenched in arrogance and passive-aggressive jabs.

What's this? With all the posting and the hoopla, you all sound like fools. It makes my shadenfreude gizzard bloat with bile!

Did someone say popcorn!?!?! Zoidberg loves popcorn!!
