Armor Expert (Combat): You have worn armor as long as you can remember, either as part of your training to become a knight's squire or simply because you were seeking to emulate a hero. Your childhood armor wasn't the real thing as far as protection, but it did encumber you as much as real armor would have, and you've grown used to moving in such suits with relative grace. When you wear armor of any sort, reduce that suit's armor check penalty by 1, to a minimum check penalty of 0.
Zane always had issues to help his father and brothers to work in the woods. It's not that he was especially lazy, or that he did not like the forest - he loved it, but he was very active and playful (not to say mischievous), meaning he spent much more time outdoors chasing game, wandering through the forest and whatever not - anything and everything but cutting the logs and being industrious. His father tried to "bring him to common sense", but being the youngest kid in all male family, meant that he was his mothers favourite child, and she loved him dearly, and "protected" him at all costs. His father, Alarik, saw him as spoiled, and after some time, simply gave up on him. Zane was left alone to wander the surroundings unchecked. The only "concession" he gave to his parents (especially his mother), was to always, absolutely always wear a small wodden replika of an armoured suite, and to always have a whistle and a weapon (usually bow) with him. His mother Dunya, who was extremely worried and protective of her boy Zane, made sure that he would be safe, at least in this way.
Zane was very curious and inquisitive child, and as he grew up, in and (mostly) around the city, he developed a tendency to be unseen, and sometimes to bend the rules (if not to bypass them completely). His understanding was that if something was locked, than usually it was locked with the reason, to keep something hidden inside, and he always wanted to know what was hidden. So, after some time, aside from sneaking into forbidden pplaces, he learned also how to bypass (OK, pick) locks, how to maneuvre past the bear traps and hidden pits.
After some time, Laurel, local herbalist and healer, took notice of the young man wanderings, as well as his exquisite knowledge of herbs and other nature related lore. She "employed" him in a way, and soon enough Zane was supplying her shop with dried herbs, rare plants and animals of all sorts. This "arrangement" lasted for years (and is still ongoing), and over the years, Zane was able in this way to collect enough money to finally purchase him a "real aromour". OK it was not new, or anything like it, but it was real and still very usable, despite the fact that it has seen it's fair share of battles and was obviously ancient.
Like most of the boys and man in Falcon's Hollow, Zane has a crush on Ralla Hebbradan, who works in the Rogue Lady, for the infamous Kabran Bloodeye. Not knowing much about love, Zane started to ask for aphrodisiacs from Laurel, instead of money, hoping that might help him for Ralla to fall in love with him.
Some time ago, when Deldrin Balesom became Sheriff of this unfortunate city, Zane's father and his brothers were among the rare ones who openly supported Balesom, and today three of his brothers are Sheriff's deputies even, putting Zane in a very precarious position.
