Zane draws a scroll from the case at his hip, rapisdly chanting as he points and 2 shards of pure force slice their way into the creature facing Nakoda.

Magic Missile 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4) + 2 = 10

Perception 1d20 ⇒ 16

Zane focuses, ignoring distractions as he seeks to isolate friend from foe amidst the watery chaos.

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Are the enemies visible to Zane as yet?

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Perception1d20 ⇒ 11

(Male Human Wizard 3)

As the group descends Zane whispers a brief word, bringing a silvery glow to the head ofhis cane to provide light.

(Male Human Wizard 3)

"Down. Wonderful." Zane says sarcastically.

"Well, we may as well get it over with."

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Zane stood at the top of the ladder for a moment, processing everything that had occurred. There was an ominous sense to the descent, as if once down that ladder, everything would change, and with it the intense intellectual curiousity that drove him.

"Until we get back, don't trust anyone previously associated with Saul's business dealings. If he returns and comes after you, find Maelorn's mother and both of you get to Samaritha at the Wizard's enclave. You'll be safe there, even he wouldn't be insine enough to rile a host of mages."

With that he descended after Nakoda.

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Zane will take 2 of the CLW potions, and a couple of smokesticks

(Male Human Wizard 3)

"She...spoke a word uttered when the universe was created. A Celestial Word, the kind bandied about by Gods. Fascinating!"

Zane studies Nakoda intently as he speaks

-1 Blade boot

How shall we?

Zane can's use anything besides the potions so he'll just take a shre of the cash value after eveeryone gears up.

Will need to replenish his scroll collection and probably pick up another wand.

(Male Human Wizard 3)

My magic is almost tappeed for the day, but I have scrolls and the wand. The longer we let him run the harder he'll be to find. Besides, if he's in the wind, your mother, Samaritha, the people at the Shoanti enclave, there's no telling who he'll go after to get back at us. I say we finish this."

Zane looks down at the pit as if preparing to jump in.

(Male Human Wizard 3)

"Secrets that he was willing to send a small army to kill us over."

(Male Human Wizard 3)

LMAO, I think I'll pass

(Male Human Wizard 3)

"No we wouldn't, but after everything he's done, everyone we care about is in danger until we get a hold of Saul. He's going to be looking for a way to stike back, but first, he'll try to get to somewhere safe."

Zane looks over at Nakoda staring down at her hands.

"It's normal, adrenaline wearing off and the realization of the stakes. No shame in it."

(Male Human Wizard 3)

That was one of the craziest fight scenes I've ever had in PBP.

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Zane gets to his feet and gazes at the carnage in the room.

"That was.....intense. Is everyone all right?"

Taking in the damage inflicted by Saul's defenses he silently shudders at the thought of being on the other side of them.

"We need to find Saul before he goes to ground."

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Somewhere in the back of his mind Zane marvels at the sheer ruthlessness of Saul's defenses. His conscious mind however is quite aware of the viscious boar trying to kill him as he onece again lashes out with his cane, this time swinging with a pwerful blow, the head crackling with electricity.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
1d6 ⇒ 3 bludgeoning
3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3) = 10 electricity

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Seeing Bron collapse and Nakoda's valiant stand to protect him, Zane grabs the lever throwing it as he shouts in infernal.

Infernal:

GET DOWN!

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Rolling away from the crazed boar Zane again utters the command word for his wand, the charge channeling up his cane as her strikes out with it to deliver the shock to the beast.

Concentration to avoid AoO 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Touch attack1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
3d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 6) = 10

(Male Human Wizard 3)

In desperation Zand grips his cane, focusting on his bond with the item he calls on the link to summon a spell currently gone from his mind, yet still contained within his spellbook.

Casts Spontaneous Immolation via Acane Bond. 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 6) = 11 Fire damage to Borjask, DC 16 reflex save or burst into flames again.

(Male Human Wizard 3)

I know right?

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Zane draws a scroll, shaking his head at the insanity of what he is about to do.

With a rapid series of acane pronouncements he summons a horse into the midst of the wild boars, adding to the chaos and providing an alternative target for the crazed animals.

Casting Mount to summon horse next to Bron

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Seeing the situation become increasingly worse, Zane raises a hand, pointing at Bojask as he shoouts an arcane word laden with power.

In a flash the drunken man erupts, flames hungrily seeking his flesh.

3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1) = 8 DC 16 FORT SAVE FOR 1/2 DAMAGE. If fails he is also on fire.

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Seeing tthe condition of his allies Zane sends a pair of magic missiles uneeringly past Nakoda to strike Beyar.

"Get back from the door and regroup at the desk! Melorn get this to Bron!" he yells handing Maelorn the electrical defensive potion.
2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 1) + 2 = 5

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Sorry got pulled away from computer 1st 2 rolls are touch attack for another shocking grasp. Actually, add 2 to attack roll since enemy is flanked.

Zane again invokes his wand, once more channelling the crackling shock into his cane as her reaches forward to touch the other thug.

(Male Human Wizard 3)

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2) = 10

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Realizing that he is in the most dangerous position in which a spellcaster could find himself Zane's focus intensifies, his defensive movements leaving no opening as he grasps his copper shod wand in one hand.

Concentration1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

The swift movements of activating the spell summoning the spell as he channels it through his body into his cane as he reaches out to touch one of his opponents R1, unleashing the brutal shock.

3d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 1) = 7

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Concentration check if in range of AoO
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

A look of intense focus crosses Zane's face as his hands move through the air, coming together to unleash a burst of blinding color that washes over three of the attacking thugs.

Color spray hitting Red 5, 1 and 4 DC 15 Will save

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Red 1 has 50% chance of hitting Bron's double

Zane shouts to Bron and Nakoda, "Fall back!" as he hurls the alchemist bomb across thee room at the second attacker through the door. Aim at #2 before moving behind the desk.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
DM has better idea of damage than I do, +minimum possible damage is splash damage to all within 5 ft

(Male Human Wizard 3)

"Hit them as they enter, try to get them to swarm the door then fall back to the desk, Zane says just loud enough for his friends to hear."

He quickly utters a magical phrase his eyes glowing blue as he continues to study the deep blue potion.

Detect Magic

(Male Human Wizard 3)

As the sound of enemies approach, Zane dashes behind the desk to inspect the potions, "Buy me time, and when I yell, fall back."

Spellcraft1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Knowledge Arcana1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

(Male Human Wizard 3)

"The bastard's got a pretty good handle of how we operate in combat. He''s been watching our every move for the last month. That and he's got a silet partner he's afraid we'll find out about."

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Standing in the doorway Zane casts a grease spell into the hallway before it, ccoating the floor in a thick layer of viscous slime before closing the door and striding over to the desk.

Zane quickly glances at the files on the desk, trying to determine what the information may have been uused for.

Int check1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

"For a place that was supposedly hemmhoraging money before we came along, these furnishings are rather expensive."

2 rounds worth of actions

(Male Human Wizard 3)

We need a choke point, they'll have to come up the stairs, or we could take Saul's office, if he has anything devastating that's where he would keep it."

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Perception1d20 ⇒ 7

"I agree, we should go to his office first, on the way if there's anything anyone needs to grab we should do so. The walkway will show us what's going on since we "disappeared".

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Symbol of Mirroring lasts 10 mins per level so the party has illusory doubles for 30 mins total

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Grinning Zane followed Bron into the room.

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Taking a deep breath Zane walks directly under a window and jumps straight up to it, the effect of the double making for an eerie visual.

Acrobatics1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Zane's mind races, keeping pace with events and reactions, some part of his awareness calmly calatoguing details.

Perception 1d20 ⇒ 10

"We should go for the upper windows, they'll be calling reinforcements to this door and if they're smart, expect us to try the front one."

Pulling a scroll he rapidly casts a spell, his whole body seeming to ripple for a second, a pulse in the air centered around his legs.

Cast Jump

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Zane looked at the two bursting through the door and quickly pointed at one of them, arcane syllables sputtering like flames while he ran a pinch of saltpeter through his fingers.

Abruptly flames erupted around the man, Red 14 lighting up the night.

Spontaneous Immolation 3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4) = 11+ on fire. DC 16 Fort save for 1/2 and avoid being on fire

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Zane barks out the arcane trigger word, the symbol on his cane flaring with a silvery sheen. Immediately each of the group was matched by an illusory double shifting in and out makingint almost impossible to determine which was which.

Move action to trigger latent spell. Each party member has a double, 50% miss chance, when double is destroyed new one appears next round. Lasts 10 mins as long as within 60ft of Zane's cane

Quickly he swung at the attacker, providing a distraction at the least.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Perception1d20 ⇒ 7

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Neither can Zane

(Male Human Wizard 3)

As the group approached The Golden Goblin, Zane utters a rhythmic chant, a shimmer spreading over him as he warped realiity to his will, armor of pure force surrounding him before fading into invisibility.

Mage Armor

The moment it completed he followed with a more intricate chant, syllables almost sounding like the reverse of the ones immediately before them as he scribed a silvery mirroring sigil into the palm of his glove, donning it and keeping the hand closed around his cane to conceal the effect.

Symbol of Mirroring

Night

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Zane will rest long enought to arise and prepare a full complement of spells, readying himself for the battle to come.

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Knowledge local1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Zane frowns thoughtfully shaking his head. "I know I've heard of were ratsworking for someone in the city but the details escape me. I agree that after a night's rest we should move on the Goblin. Better to strike before Saul has any idea that we aren't all dead."

(Male Human Wizard 3)

"As long as he thinks we're dead, we have the adantage, but if he plays this dirty I need to warn Samaritha before he figures out we're coming. He obviously has no problem attacking us through others."

(Male Human Wizard 3)

Yeah Int 18 Cha 10 is interesting too Zane's really smart but at times he can be a bit of a dick

(Male Human Wizard 3)

"Agreed. If he thinks we're dead we have the advantage for now. Get everyone's loved ones safe or warned, then we talk with the bastard."
