Sweet! We finally got Unit 3 back togeth...oh...<facepalm>

Don't blame me, there were several days without posts for U3 before and after my post, so I wanted to do something, anything on my own at least, and it may get us new info or whatever.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Sorry about delay, had a mild food poisoning

Unit 3

Zal watches what the kids do for a while, Believing they may lead him to where they got their hands on the drugs, or perhaps reveal some hideout.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Zal as not having used any attacks is still Invisible and goes after the bunch of children.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 Stealth (for the period invisibility wears off)

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

With laughter? I see next time I just have to properly hurt them. Also, I did a bit more than just make them smell like sh*t.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Casting Prestidigitation to make them smell like covered in sh*t, blood, and skunk piss. And to look as being covered in sh*t, blood, and piss.

1d20 ⇒ 18 Precocious Apprentice casting success = Invisibility spell

Using this, illusion tricks, create water, and message I scare the hell out of them
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Intimidation in addition

After they flee I use Prestidigitation to clean myself from the mess if I got hit. If you read this comment of mine and begin to feel sorry for them then I did my job well :)

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Zal greets the others as they return. For some reason he felt as if he had to wait for them to rejoin for days or weeks instead of just for a hour or so.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

I stay with my initial group then, but we REALLY need to regroup and do stuff, our team falls behind the most I think

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

...okay, I think I am lost on who is where and does what o.O

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Well I do certainly hope we got to finally regroup now, if not the GM can say otherwise. You did stay in one location without moving while we closed in though.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

U3

Zal who stood there quietly until now, still not being used to the mental link speaks up. "Might be my earlier assumption about a war drug being field tested comes true." He then notices that he spoke out loud, and adds to it as if he intended to speak to the woman. "Where might that girl be now? Any known favorite locations, spots she liked to hang out as a child at? In her current state she might have visited some place from her childhood, maybe a house she moved out of."

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

U3

"Pride? You may have gone to the wrong city for that then." Zal tries out this mind communication as he doesn't say the words that he thinks directing at Jimbli.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Zal follows Ignot quietly.

all the arsonists rejoice!

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Zal looks somewhat mistrusting, but sighs in the end. "Let's try it, but I am really not sure I like the idea, even if it is just a restricted mind-meddling magic."

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Merlok Zaldon stares at him. "Not sure I like the idea of others fiddling in my mind and through my thoughts. How exactly would that work?"

What ability/spell is that exactly?

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Graal: nope, not even sure what that means

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

U3
"Only I am the new one to be assigned to your unit, I guess."
Zal mentions as he places the mandolin away.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Zal looks up. "Eh, I just joined the unit, I don't even know the other members, or how many there are to begin with." He will go where he has to if those Zal came with decide to leave.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

U3
umm...shouldn't we regroup or something?

oh, so this is more like the games on RPGforums without stats and such, making stuff up on the go? Do we even need a char sheet then?

didn't read into the game thread, like the story background, lynora GM-s it so it can't be bad, but i don't see the actual and proper char creation rules, is this also a gestalt game like the other? If yes I would prolly make an Archeologist (Bard)/Witch girl, or an Oracle/Witch girl

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

U3

"It may have been an experiment, to see how the drug affects kobolds, I don't know anything about drugs but they may also have the effect of magic no? Maybe they looked for a war drug, something that makes the ones taking it feel pain less and become stronger, what usually barbarians are like."

Zal takes out a mandolin of his pack. "Not that it matters, anything that makes the mind of one work slower and weaker, or maybe permanently causes crazyness is just not worth anything at all in my opinion. Still, maybe they can sell it off to weaklings even if the tests failed, who would give their lives up to just once beat their bullies."

Ignoring that the current discussion is quite a dark theme, he begins to play "Oh you crazy, crazy world!".

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

U3

Zal watches as people come and go. "Pretty active recently, eh?" He says so to Shifty. "So many newcomers, is this district trying to build up an army, or what? I wonder if even the noble district has as many guards as this one now."

Seeing Ignot he looks at him. "You done with the kobold?"

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

sorry about the lack of posting, have to read up again but won't be able to post as often as before, I don't want to quit however

as for my last comment ignore it then, I thought it was hours since the interrogation happened, the RL timeshift of days messed my "ingame senses" up

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Zal went to a near tavern, after some hesitation he decided not to drink any of the brew served there, but bought a cheap bottle of wine and took it to Shifty. "Here, much easier to transport than beer, they really should consider to bottle beer too."

He looks at the door where the others with the kobold disappeared to. "Did they get back yet? As it seems the group already went their patrol route so I have no work right now, was that all for today?"

its even better if they stick around

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

so yeah, is the NPC willing to go for a drink?

My char is from Sradeth, if you don't mind it, you can be a halfling noble from there too

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Zal leaves the scene and goes to explore the guardhouse and find a decent room/bed for himself to claim as his own. After that, he invites shifty-eye to a drink.

maybe Sradeth?

If you like "anime" catfolk, then just run your game with anime catfolk.

If you don't like anime catfolk, don't use them.

Remember, art is just one artists interpretation of how a race looks. You as a GM or player have an infinite amount of room to work with that art.

Maybe you're a player who's GM likes the non-anime catfolk... who says you can't be like 1/4th human, causing you to look a little more like a cat girl than a catfolk.

Maybe you're a player who's GM likes the more anime catfolk. Why can't you just play an evolutionary throw back? Like a catfolk with their equivalent of a genetic disorder that makes you look a lot more catlike than others of your kind.

How you and I picture an elf in our head is probably very different. To some of us, elves are taller than humans, to others they're shorter. To some of us they're desert dwelling nomads, to others they're analogous to the feudal Japanese.

Compare a traditional D&D dwarf to a Dragon Age dwarf. They share similarities but also massive differences in both appearance and attitude.

Don't let art dictate how YOU see your character.

But if you go by arts, these catfolks should have different abilities and stuff.

not necessarily, use instead of subraces the word ethnicity, and you can also compare them to real humanity, just because there are asians africans and europeans they are all humans with same abilities, catfolk can also look very differently but still be the same species, although in such different representation subraces are more used usually

we get new players?

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

"Almost there." Zal decided if he was already nearly there he won't go down empty handed.

I use a daily spell for True Strike to capture the damn animal, I don't want to roll an 1 or something for this.

Capturing the bird he then places it in his bag, it will not suffocate while he climbs down. Once down, he hands the animal to Ignot.
"There." As the half-giant takes it over Zal thinks how he needs to improve his skill to either climb or some arcane ability he should learn to just "be" there.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Zal looks at him from halfway up. "I heard the battle and considered it a good idea to see what it is about from the top of a building, not knowing who the fighting participants were it seemed logical to do so. I was able to take my time to get up, there was also a nearby ladder. Then I helped out because I saw it was just some dirty kobolds on one side. Still, I admit I was not sure if you folks were whom I looked for, or just some street gang, so I did consider the option to just go away without a word after the fight, or to stay for longer atop the roof."

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

I know it is a bit confusing, but I introduced myself as Merlok Zaldon.

"Merlok" sighs and looks around, he hopes he can spot a mouse or rat to avoid this extra and unnecessary climbing.

Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

As it doesn't look like he had luck, he goes for it. "Fine, but don't make it a habit to give me such fetch quests." Zal looks for an easy way up, taking it slowly not to fall because of such silly thing.

Climb 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

U3

"Heh, criminal?" Zal smiled sharply. "I volunteered. You know, those who join of their free will get a bonus. My name is Merlok Zaldon,"
He then ponders the rat question. "Will that be necessary? There are more than a dozen methods to make someone talk without one. I prefer to make it clear and easy to understand it is in their best interest to tell everything and anything that may be of advantage."
Zal looks at the kobold. "You don't plan to use a rat and a heated up bucket, do you?" As he awaits the answer he takes a closer look at the interesting half-giant.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

U3 seems to fall apart, to make stuff easier I show my badge and go along the group back to the guardhouse.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

(I was already down for a good while, plus I treated the kobold)

as said, "benefit/worth"

I don't really think it is of worth or benefit to walk into a greatly restricted gate while majority of the party can't, nor do I think it is worth to get hurt extra badly for triggering more traps and bane effects

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

U3

Zal smirks "Just doing my job, although I usually prefer it more close and personal." then takes a step into the same direction as Ignot did. "Well, I assume you are returning to the guardhouse now, may I come with you?"

According to Mark Moreland half-elves can take classes and archetypes of the elves, I don't think there would be any other real benefit/worth of a feature/trait like that otherwise.

Then again, I am not even sure what the position of this Mark or Michael is, and who has a higher "rank" at Paizo.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

U3

Zal decided to just wait for reactions after he treated the kobold, and tried to see if any of the people had a badge on them. He was still a bit unsure if this ragtag group is what he was looking for.

Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

fast healing doesn't equal regeneration

and I think it would be better to make a lvl 1 teenager girl with attitude problems and a point in profession (acting)

XD

ah right, and get Giles as mentor (or he could get you as familiar) or you have zero chance at survival

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Unit 3

"This is why healing items should be given to members of the Watch."

Zal goes there and helps to fix up the kobold.

Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 to find anything in the area lying around what could be helpful.
Heal 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18 to try to do it myself, with possible bonus from found stuff.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Zal listens to them and as the name Turnsdale is mentioned he is more at ease. "Good, then you must be of the 3rd, I was looking for you." He begins to climb down where he went up.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

"Militia? And that would be you? What exactly do you consider 'militia' anyway? Are you hired by the city?" Zal considered how militia could be anything from vigilantes to a nickname of the city guards. if they are with the watch they should have those leather badges too.

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 Zal notices one of the people down on the streets looking up towards him. He puts his bow away and waves once, meanwhile he remains prepared to jump back from the edge to get out of sight and reach of ranged attacks if these people are hostile.

"Greetings. Who might you be? Were you and these creatures in some sort of gang war?" Zal is careful not to reveal he looks for the 3rd, to avoid them easily claiming they are the watchmen he is looking for.

Unit Three

Mal spots a young man with a bow observing from the roof of a nearby building.

Spoiler:
funny how they didn't notice the arrow rain upon their enemies earlier tho :p

Male Human Rogue/Battle Sorcerer Gestalt

Zal looks over the edge of the roof to check if there are any of the creatures left standing, and to see who they fought with, if it isn't the watchmen then he has no further business here. He also wishes to avoid bandits and gangs to attack him "out of gratitude" for his help.
