The small band of nomads made up of 3 humans, 2 halflings, a tiefling and an aasimar. They had decided to see what the vultures were circling. Zahir was raised by a band of nomads when found laying under a dead gnoll. He was almost dead from the heat but had used the body as shade. They were impressed by his tenacity for life and took him in.
He told the story of how his family had been victims of a small raid. There was a blue dragon show up and the raid party all started running for some reason. He said that the one who grabbed him said something about using Zahir as a distraction if needed. That didn't need to happen but also allowed Zahir to squirm and wrap himself around the gnoll's neck with his bonds and he put his feet on the gnoll's head to leverage his strength. Zahir then said he didn't know where he was so had rationed the gnoll's little water and used it as shade.
The nomads were worshipers of Gozreh. They were druids and rangers that went around helping the farmers who needed it. The tiefling was a monk of Irori from Tian Xia with a purpose of learning the paths the nomads traveled. They taught Zahir their ways. He came to believe that Gozreh had decided to save him. He learned how to talk well with others about Gozreh though not in a way to distant them but to convince them to thank him for being blessed with a safe trip or a bountiful harvest free of disasters.
He is grown now. He appears to be a well suited for a trip though still mistaken for a human child if people don't look twice. His backpack and staff sling help the look. The sansetsukon is almost hidden with the other gear. That was a gift from Yuto for the training Yuto had given him. The tiefling was willing to assist Zahir on his journey into adulthood. Yuto is where he got the inspiration to do his own path over staying with the nomads. He wanted to learn how to do things to improve the region. Plus he had a little bit of the curiosity of the halfling race and was wanting to know more about Kelmarane and if it can be reclaimed. It sounds like fun in the dangerous sort of way. Plus there might be gnolls.
Zahir is 3'3 and weighs 33 pounds. He has dirty blonde hair and a roundish face that allows his emerald green eyes to stand out. He is skinny for a halfling. He is in desert shaded shaped leather armor when in town or if danger might be near. He has on a hot weather outfit and a backpack. There is a sansetsukon strapped to it though is done in a way to not attract notice and he is using a halfling staff sling like a walking stick. He does have a solid voice he can project if needed. It is still not deep enough to dissuade someone from thinking he is a human child at times. He can work well with a group but can sometimes be a little too reckless with his fearlessness.
