Yvon DuSuis is a scowling, thick-set man in his late 30’s. He is a proud and arrogant man, dresses well, sports the latest facial hair and shaves his head to cover a receding hairline. He is rarely seen without a blade or two at his belt, favouring a heavier blade than most of the nobility- a long single-edged sabre he learned to use as a deckhand.
Mini reference: Kayazy underboss
Background:
He is a cousin of Jean-Paul DeSuis of the infamous DuSuis household, but wasn’t present in Dementlieu on the Night of the Long Knives. He sought his fortunes aboard the DuSuis ships for a time, serving as bosun and often lending a better hand as a trained sword-arm than a seaman, but he is not completely useless on deck.
When news of the Night of the Long Knives reached the Fleur de Mer, the ship Yvon was serving on, the captain sought to steal the ship and continue his trade as an independent operator. Yvon helped the first mate- a loyal half-orc DuSuis retainer named Remy DeMer- seize control of the ship, executing the old captain himself, and elevating Remy to captain. He avoided Port-a-Lucine for a time, but with Helene’s appointment to the Council of Brilliance, Yvon has come home for some answers... people:
Remy has lived a hard life- his mother was a low-earning prostitute on the docks of Port-a-Lucine. If that wasn’t enough, his father was an orc, and a dubious character at best. Left to fend for himself from a young age, he learned that to get ahead was to rely on the patronage of his betters- loyalty paid dividends for him as he fell into work on the ships of the DuSuis. He grew up a hard man, and a loyal one, working his way up the ranks for the DuSuis’s in a variety of tasks, until he became First Mate of the Fleur De Mer, taking the ship’s name as his own. He now serves as captain of that ship, continuing the DeSuis business of importation. tactics:
Yvon usually opens combat by trying to demoralize his opponents, then he draws his longsword, power attacking (-1/+2) if they are unarmoured. If he suffers significant wounds (Reduced below 10 hp) he will attempt to retreat. |
