Y'rjar'n is pretty much your classic Dracha. He has his own sense of morality. He's extremely loyal to his friends and those who earn his respect but he dislike those who show no signs of any strengths. He's stoic, slow to anger, meticulous and confidant in his abilities. Y'rjar'n believes he was born to fight. Thus, due to a mix of overconfidence and acceptance of his fate, he doesn't fear death.
In this period of 'cold war' between the Giants and the Dragons, Y'rjar'n feels a bit lost. He'd like that the war turned 'hot' so he would have a cause to fight for and prove himself. BACKGROUND:
From his hatching, Y’rjar’n was shaped to become a weapon. Training exercises, sparing, endurance runs and tactical lessons were his routine during his early years. The training was hard but Y’rjar’n reveled in it and usually came out ahead of his Dracha brothers. And thus, once he was barely into adulthood, he was chosen to serve amongst the personal guard of his dragon sire, Yrakxilian the Red, high protector of Rosei Karon. Such position for one so young was highly prestigious and Y’rjar’n served with honor.
When the time came to reclaim the East, Y’rjar’n followed his sire into the Land of the Diamond Throne. The Giants failed to respond to the Dragon Conclave demands and Yrakxilian became a strong proponent for war. The Conclave would not hear it, however, and ruled that they would give the Giants more time. Yrakxilian was furious and started scheming behind the scenes to force a war. Y’rjar’n was pretty much oblivious to all this but he was still pulled into his sire’s schemes when he was ordered to escort a human diplomat on a secret mission to Gahanis. They were ambushed in the city by agents of a force unknown to Y’rjar’n. The Dracha barely survived but his charge was killed. He had failed. During that time, the conclave discovered Yrakxilian’s treachery and condemned him to the Cage of Teeth. While the old dragon escaped capture, he was still forced into hiding. Between the condemnation of his sire and the shame of his own failure, Y’rjar’n felt that he could not go back West just yet. He would first have to regain his honor in this strange land of Humans and Giants. |
