So far, so good. I think it would be like any group online - you'd have to find the right crowd that you're comfortable with. I haven't done much group quests, as I'm leery unless I've had a chance to chat with them. Did manage to find a couple of good people who were more interested in playing their character and actually "exploring" a dungeon, so there's hope.
The DDO forums, however - beware the trolls. I haven't found much use so far for them, as it's generally full of b#~!!ing, whining and complaining about how it's not like WoW or EQ or Name-your-Game here, or how it's too much like aforementioned games, why is there only 10 levels, why can't a halfling rogue wear full plate armor with no penalties to skills, blah blah blah blah blah. b#~!! piss moan. Ad nauseum. Lots of b#~!!ing, no constructive criticism.
hmmm ... That doesn't bode well. Thanks a bunch for the answers, and keep posting on how you're doing! =D

This thread is so awesome.
I'm running an Eberron campaign, and so far it's the usual kinda stuff. However, in a few levels (probably 8), I've been thinking about totally tripping out the PCs.
The PCs walk into their usual tavern in Sharn, and get approached by a shadowy figure. He is just about to speak, when the entire tower violently shakes for several seconds. As the PCs rush outside, they notice chaos and destruction. Towers are in flames and crumbling, and the invasion force has well and truly caught the city unprepared.
This takes a lot from the Incursion feature from Dungeon 100 and Dragon 309. I'm thinking the portal to Xoriat (the plane of madness) will re-open, and will lead to the Daelky being released to wreck havoc. I've already started dropping hints about stirrings with the Cults of the Dragon Below.
Since this is our first Eberron campaign, I wanted people to get a feel for it and feel attached to the world. Hence why I'm waiting a few levels to turn everything upside-down. I just hope I don't destroy the campaign setting for future use by doing this.

hm. I dunno if I want to get DDO. I haven't seen any reviews on any of the gaming sites, but I'm going to have to wait a few weeks until I get my new computer anyways. What's the DDO community like, Lilith?
From a rules perspective, I would assume it's automatic.
From a reality perspective:
How many times have you tried to touch your knee or something and missed?

I was amused and impressed by their impromptu tactics.
hahaha. did the warmage survive?
One of my players is using a warlock, so we'd love to see some new stuff for warlocks in Class Acts.

But don't forget
Although I'm not usually one to stir the pot, I am a great believer in civil liberties (freedom of speech). This topic seems to be similar to the recent issue with the Danish publication that printed the muslim-offending cartoon of the prophet Mohammad wearing a bomb-turban. Should they have done it? probably not. Can they? sure.
Although publications have a certain ethics code they should follow, they need to target their audience. Although printing this sort of offensive tag-line may not expand the reader-base as much as another, maybe it isn't such a bad thing.
If someone isn't mature enough to deduce that Dragon is just presenting an eye-catching, gaming-related tagline, then maybe this game isn't for them. (And if they can't BS well enough to convince their parents to get it for them, they should hone those skills a bit more before gaming.)
That's really sweet. I hope you keep updating it! I like the Herald a lot, especially the reference to Morkoth in the lake.
One question though - can you use all of that artwork? (Or is there copyright/other issues?)
I just ripped open my UPS box. This book is awesome. On first inspection, I immediately noticed the physical quality of the book (nice, glossy pages). Also, I think the art is amazing! (Paricularly the inside of the covers/the cover reprints in the back). Anyways, I'm quite happy right now, so I'm off to go read and ignore college applications. (thanks for the new excuse Dragon! =D)

They have a listing of issues with Polyhedron in them, and what articles are in there. (I recall a sweet article in Dungeon 103 (October 2003) about the history of the Millenium Falcon.)
