That's awesome and wonderful.
:) I really appreciate the feedback on this! The saltwater restriction was really only so that players still had to fumble around with rivers, because that's hilarious. Since I hadn't seen any underwater submersibles in Pathfinder, my idea was to make it not VERY powerful - make it tempting for parties to want to use it for rest, but fragile and slow enough that they'd have to be careful.
:) Gaming tonight, but I'll drop my little guy in here!
Sea Nettle Submersible
If you somehow lost your votes, that sucks. But...you know, chill. It's just a tag on an internet forum, and the decision is still up to the judges in the end. Everything's fine.
Hey lookie, I found a Harry Potter item.
Darnit, I should have made a small red and white ball you throw at monsters to capture them and release them under your control. I'd be sure to win!
I'm sure they'll get a pdf up here soon. It is around, anyone who backed the original kickstarter received it about a month ago :) In the meantime, you can also up-bid on the kickstarter for Gamers 3 to get the PDF - the price there at the moment is $10.00.

I didn't manage to get into either of the terrain events due to the event process problems, either. So I'm not really doing any scheduled events.
...but hey, it's all about having fun, right? As much as I'd LOVE to attend those, there's gonna be a lot more to do, so you know - go with the flow. Or something.
But I feel your pain!

Aww, man. I didn't even want to sign up for that, I must have mis-clicked. That blows.
Oh well, thank you for looking. :(

Ross, I don't suppose you know if it's the same thing that happened to me above? I'm kind of bummed out that it didn't let me into either because of some conflicting thing, when I had no conflicting events to begin with.
Sorry, hope I'm not being a bother, I'm just antsy to hear what happened and if I'm marked as in any of the terrain events..
Now the second terrain event is full, too. So am I signed up for these and it's not showing, or did the glitch make me miss out on my chance? :(
I'm having a weird problem. I signed up to try and get in to both of the terrain events on Friday - it didn't show me as able to get into their of them on the signup. So, I looked them up.
It says that the Styrofoam one is full, but that the plaster brick one I signed up for isn't...if it isn't full, why wasn't it added to my schedule?
So I re-add it and click 'save changes'... and it tells me:
"You have signed up for two or more events that conflict with each other.
Your registration for these events will not be counted until the conflict is resolved. "
But my schedule is literally only:
...so I have no conflicts. I don't know what's going on and it makes me so sad, I really want in on these.

I have to disagree - and despite what was said above, I did allow them to roleplay. The problem is that in 3.5, the PC could have just made a single diplomacy check. If the check was good enough, I could have moved her from hostile to neutral and had her stop to consider, so perhaps there could be roleplay.
The way the skill challenge is set up, she goes from 'wanting to rip you in twain' hostile, to 'ooh, hey, you're kind of cool, you can go!' friendly. There is no in between. Why would you continue negotiating with a monster trying to murder you while it is trying to bash your face in?
Because of the skill challenge and how it is set up, the roleplay has no freedom.

One thing I find annoying in planning my trip is that the hotel does not offer shuttle service to/from the airport. The approximated cost for a cab is $60 (about the same as getting a service to drive me) which is somewhat startling, but considering the distance somewhat expected. If I rent a car I have that cost in addition to paying $60 in parking. The PaizoCon rate is still a good deal, but I'm a bit miffed at the add on expenses, particularly the internet.
You know, my husband and I will be flying in Thursday and are encountering the same issue. Maybe people should start a thread to share rides to/from the hotel, as far as sharing shuttle services from the airport to reduce costs?
This reminds me of the one time I ran our group in 4th edition. We had played the 3.5 conversion of Tomb of Horrors, that was brutal.
So we thought "What better a chance to try 4th edition than with the same module we beat with only one death?"
An individual you don't really have a chance of persuading in 3.5, as they are extremely hostile, has a skill challenge attached to her in 4e. The players would not have known, so I had to inform them of the skill challenge. It was something like...they had to roll 5 diplomacy checks successfully to make her non-hostile.
The problem is, that she starts AS hostile and doesn't wait. So this person was smashing them up against the wall, trying to kill them, all while the cleric screams "WAIT, NICE LADY, WE WANT TO BE YOUR FRIEND. PLEASE BE OUR FRIEND."
There was NO way for my players to roleplay it. It was just so jarring. He asked if he could talk to her...she's set to immediately attack, so my answer had to be "No, but you CAN participate in this skill challenge..."
It turned out to be far worse for RP than I had even assumed it would be.

This is a case where I truly appreciate the feedback. Thank you for posting this, Neil, and thank you guys for all giving constructive feedback. I can't believe I made as many silly mistakes as I did - but it leaves me with the feeling that at least my idea was strong, and it's the execution I need to improve upon.
Thank you SO much for the advice that's wrapped up in this, I'll make sure to do better next year!
I went over a billion things in my head after submission. I cut down a lot of the lore, so I really would love to know the honest truth on this item.
