You should hit the hard, dearie." (Diviner's Fortune: +2 (9/day) (Sp) Creature touched gains +2 to attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws for 1r. 2/9 used today.)
Wren continues to coo as the battle continues in favor of the good birds. Wren will come behind Kevin, seeking to assist for his next attack. Wren will touch Kevin with Diviner's Fortune. (Diviner's Fortune: +2 (9/day) (Sp) Creature touched gains +2 to attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws for 1r. 1/9 used today.)
While this is an uncertain, unmapped battlefield, I believe it's possible for Kevin and Mr. Hastur to move forward and attack. The gap is still there (and will be for another 5 rounds), but there are two additional squares they can 5' step to and attack. If one of them wants to get flank, they can even do that, but that would likely provoke, but with a -4 to the attack roll for attacking from prone.
Round 3 Wren grimaces as the lucky not-Stitches manages to defy possibility and avoid her spell. How dare it! Wren, even with her chagrin, tries again. This time she plucks an especially greasy chicken feather from her armor and tosses it toward the golem while uttering words of power. Casting Grease, not hitting the good guys, under the creature. Another DC 19 reflex save. "You're not nice like my good friend Stitches at all!"
Round 2 Wren, having escaped the initial shock, turns and face the not-Stitches. "Where is Stitches, you? Do you little ones know? You can tell me." Wren unleashes a bit of her magic, trying to slow down the beast-man. Wren casts Stumble Gap under the feet of the golem, trying to cause it to fall. DC 19 Reflex vs proning. 1d6 ⇒ 5 damage.
Wren drops down and begins to poke around, chitterchattering as she does. 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26 Knowledge: Arcana "Ah! The wings of a fake elemental baby! Icy ones too! I remember this one time I lived in a land of cold and dark and ice. I believe it was called 'Ustaguay' or something like that...cold there...and blahblah blah blah blah..." 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14 Knowledge: Nature "I don't know what these are, but it reminds me of my favorite flavor of pudding...blahblah blah blah blah...blahblah blah blah blah..." 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 Perception "Interesting, is it not, dearies?" Wren casts Detect Magic.
Ain't no worries from me, Thod. The biggest hurdle in the PbP world is access to easy maps that everyone can see. It's the number #2 reason why they fail: GMs fail to take into account the amount of time and effort it takes to get them to work. In fact, if you look at the most successful PbPs, you'll soon see that those groups have figured out ways to do maps. And yes, there are many who hope the Paizo Gamespace will aid in things. I feel the demise of this PbP is propelled mostly by the lack of maps...so I get it. I do think that some momentum had been lost, but that's a group effort - easily lost and easily recovered. At some future time, I would play with each and every one of you again. I'll probably won't be taking Wren on other adventures, so if you decide to run Book 4 when Gamespace comes out and maps and story become easier, I'm happy to bring her back.
"Good work, Galadan. I remember this one time...blahblahblah...bloody walls and writing....blahblahblah..." Wren casts Detect Magic to confirm Galadan's alarmed alarming over the alarm. "I don't have the right feathers to bypass this spell today, but I'm not against just setting it off and seeing what comes to greet us. We are not here as enemies, but friends unmet."
Wren delights in her flight over, encouraging Mr. Hastur to take her higher or further and is very disappointed when she is put down. However, you can tell she enjoyed her flight as she even flapped her arms in concert with Mr. Hastur's wings. "JOY!" * * * Once again sadly upon firm ground, Wren will also take a look around. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 Perception
Wren heaves and huffs and puffs and wrassles the 'monsters' into crates. *huff*
"There you go, Kevin, just put their left feeler into that crevasse there...and blah blah blah...stick it in the ear." Wren grunts. *huff**huff* "Come on, you little bugger, get in there!"

Absolutely. Run with her, Thod. :)
Wren looks at poor, innocent, helpless 'monsters' being killed and refuses to participate, opting instead to stand outside with Kevin. "That was quite rude...we could have gone around them or boxed them in," Wren chirps, but still puts her dagger in her sack. "We could walk through naked and unarmed and they wouldn't lay a finger on us, those helpless little critters." 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 Knowledge: Engineering
Wren's hands fight (gently...she's quite weak) against Galadan's grip, but is unable to break free to go play with the feelers herself. "Mr. Aldous! Mr. Hastur! Don't hurt the feelers!" Wren stop struggling to ask more questions. "Why hurt them at all? There is nothing here for us! They are just animals, like my birdies!" Wren looks around for an exit to the laboratory and a way for the monsters (in this case, it's their name, not Wren's opinion of them), to get in or get out...and possible avenues of exploration for the party. "We can go around them. They can't really harm us."
Wren goes over to look at the feelers. Know rolls:

"Feelers are a lot like feathers, aren't they? They both are used by animals to communicate with the world," Wren chirps.
Wren will eat Andrea's (I'm sure) delicious food and continue partaking of Kevin's wine...save that she has neither the weight nor the stamina to finish much more than half of the glass that she just asked for. Still, it's been a while since Wren enjoyed a night of wine and she makes the most of it, chittering and chattering over dinner, telling stories and asking questions... ...before passing out and snoring noisily at the table, a line of drool eventually extending from lips to table. If left there, she will pass the night sleeping on the table...to awake in the morning to prepare spells and tend to Plumie.
Wren saddles up next to Kevin at the dinner table, anxious to let her hair down (and share another glass of lip-loosening wine). "Kevin, dearie, would you mind pouring me *hic* another?" Wren gives Kevin the 'empty-cup' signal by waggling her glass. "Why Andrea, this looks delissshhhus," Wren slurs.
Wren follows Galadan (perhaps with a glass of wine in hand, if Kevin was successful...and willing to share) still babbling about whatever, even getting a bit more loose lipped as the alcohol takes effect. "So Galadan, I forgot...why did you leave elven lands? Don't you ever miss our fair brethren? I remember this one grumpy elf, thought he knew all about Pharasma. Sometimes he was quite serious about everything...once trained to be a necromancer, he did," Wren sips more of her wine. "Are you listening, Galadan? I remember this elf, and he was a strange one. He fought with this weird club that he filled with holy water...*drink*...blah...blah...blah...*drink*...blah...blah...*drink*...an d I don't remember his name right now. That's kinda strange, ain't it?" Wren finished her wine and looks around the room.
Wren offers to help cook by sitting in the kitchen and babbling about whatever come to mind. "Is that an onion? I once saw a yellow one! That was a good day...blah blah blah...several red ones...blah blah blah...and a turnip! And that mean ol' gnome said...blah blah blah...four rutabegas per halfling ear! Well I never!...blah blah blah...blah blah blah...and so the family didn't hear so well after that."
Wren tsktsks along with Mr. Hastur. "Give me a moment, won't you? I'd like to examine these drawings and see if there is any magic in the room. They might have left some clues as to their departure or schedule." Wren will finally deign to touch something...the plans and notes. Reading and seeing if there is anything of note. 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 Knowledge: Engineering
Also, cast Detect Magic.
