I'll check Wren's monies when I get home tonight. My guess is that she's pretty far below WBL as she started at lvl 5 close to WBL and she hasn't gathered anything of note over the last two levels.

We do have the figurines, if I recall, that are pretty sweet and $$$, but not like any of us remembered to use them.

I'm fine and happy with the handwaving. Wren is out of good options to help, but wanted to clarify the rules.

There is no special rules (at least that I know of) for differences of cover for higher ground. Higher ground bonus (+1) should apply to our melee attacks, however, from my understanding of the cover rules, I think it's more likely that it has cover from us and not vice versa.

Again, there is no special higher ground rule (unless you're decreeing it GM Spiderbeard), but the diagram shows (#2) that the rogue attacks through cover, and the ogre (with reach...uses the rules for ranged combat for deciding cover) does not. We should be attacking down with cover penalty and with higher ground bonus (to melee only)...so -3 to hit. And it should be whacking the AoO loving bejeezus out of us.

In our situation, that's how I see it, but don't feel we should worry about it.

Wren does not threaten...probably anyone ever. She's not threatening at all. And if we have cover from it, then it has cover from us, in theory, unless one of us has a AoO ranged ability, which I doubt.

Going to need more info before Wren knows how to respond. Can the thing reach us on the top? How far away is the thing? The levels seem about 20' apart and if this thing is 15' high and has lots of reach?

I, for one, wouldn't want to see Feathers, uh, I mean Brodur, hurt in a fight. Creatures like him are notoriously hard to hurt...but they are also very hard to heal. They don't fix themselves the way we do...by going to and complaining to the local clergy. They need special magics to fix their wounds."

Wren prattles on, but it will eventually fall upon others to make a plan as Wren sees too many possibilities to focus on just one.

Wren coos and cackles happily as her full night of rest restores her magical reservoirs. She chitters much more happily at everyone, discussing this and that and offering her opinion freely as other sleep or are working on things.

"I used to have a mug just like that one, WhiskeyJack. Well, it wasn't so much a mug as a bucket that I really liked. You see, it was *wood*, 'Jack, made out of wood. And not your ordinary wood...but wood from a *tree*!!! Isn't that interesting...let me tell you more about the tree that I think the wood came from..."

Upon spying the spider's webs, Wren again pulls the chicken's feather from her armor and begins to dust away the webs, worried for what they might hide, but moreso not wanting to walk within them.

Cast Prestidigitation. Repeatedly as necessary. No webs will Wren touch.

Wren squawks with pleasure as the golem is felled, weary from her efforts of watching others try to kill it.

"Oh dearie, maybe we should take a break for the day and finish this place up tomorrow," Wren says, remembering the comfy bed in the other building. "We've had a full day and can't expect to keep this up if every room has another horror."

Wren is almost down to a few charges on her wand and maybe a few cantrips. She won't be contributing much and has few spells left.

This is an interesting little puzzle map! I like!

Wren pulls a long ostrich feather from her armor and begins to wave it about her person while making brushing motions and chanting words of arcane power.

Cast Prestidigitation to dry herself and preen her feathered armor.

When she is finished, she offers to do the same for the others should they wish it.

"Arval, dearie, maybe you should hold onto this one. When the fight looks really mean, you should drink it," Wren chitters as she offers the potion of displacement to Arval. She explains the potion of gaseous form as well, offering it around. She puts the basilisk blood in her 'sack unless someone else wants them.

Wren looks above, noting the barred door. She removes herself from the water and outside the tower entirely. Once outside, she pulls out her spellbook, quickly remembering one of the spells she is not often to use. When completed after a few minutes, Wren returns.

Taking her time, she climbs up the rope and when she finally succeeds, she casts Knock on the door.
