The PDF seems to work for some OSX configurations, and I'm just not enough of an expert to troubleshoot the particular display bug you see. It could be an OSX issue, a PDF issue, or a configuration I just don't know. The delights of electronic publishing. :(

Right. That was resolved as "won't fix", because the error is in the OSx Preview. As I understand it, I'm unable to fix it without changing the Apple codebase.

Recommendation: Use Goodreader rather than Preview.

Sorry not to have a better solution, but it's the best I can do with the tools I have. It might be worth submitting a bug report to Apple, might not.

Galnörag, as far as I could test it, this book has worked on iOS devices from day 1, though the choice of reader matters (GoodReader seems preferred). I haven't heard anything one way or the other for OSx, but of course we'd love to fix it if there's a problem.

Can anyone tell me what the OSx display issue is, or (even better) provide a screenshot?

Worth adding to Joseph's comment: If you don't want to participate in the behind-the-scenes elements, the first couple rewards are just the basic PDF support or the PDF and a pile of extra goodies.

Also, we're about $250 away from adding another 32 pages to this project, making it a 192-page book, plus a 32-page supplement and a great set of 1" scale battlemaps.

The deal keeps getting better, but only for 12 more days. No matter when you sign up, if the project hits the next goal, you get the extra materials.

EDIT TO ADD: I do want to sweeten the $150 deal a bit. If you have ideas (character naming, your face used for art reference in an illustration, something else), let me know what you'd like to see!

If there's ever a second-edition Pathfinder RPG (many years from now!), I sincerely hope they do consider a spell-less ranger or similar Woodland Strider sort of class.

Now that I think on it, Strider would have been a much shorter and perhaps better name for it. Hindsight, bah.

We're about $1,000 away from going from a 192-page project plus full battlemaps to a 224-page project plus full battlemaps.

And yes, with several Paizo regular freelancers participating, it is going to be insanely great.

One other option in this glorious techno-future we live in: print on demand gets you a copy from DriveThru or RPGNow. Worth a shot.

When the authors are David "Zeb" Cook, Tim & Eileen Connors, and the amazing Steve Winter, it's hard for them not to load it up with great ideas.

I think I like Winter's piece on the hows & whys of monotheism in RPGs best, but from a practical perspective, Connors and Cook both deliver really playable ideas for any fantasy game.

Um, wow, this book has been reviewed by the San Francisco Review of Books.

Game designers and those just curious about the process will all surely find something within these pages to capture their attention and imagination. Some of the articles are a little technical and hard to understand, but most are very accessible for even the most novice gamer. Highly recommended for gaming nerds everywhere.

Vic, can we get that added to the product listing? It's rare to get noticed outside the gaming circles (though if anyplace has a strong games press, it's SF).

That said, expanding the archer, shaman, and white necromancer could take the rest of 2012, which means a print book would appear at earliest in 2013. This isn't a series I want to rush.

Will this book come also in printed format or only in PDF?

Seldriss, this is a PDF-only release. At 15 pages, it just doesn't work in print.

I could not possibly comment on the template issue.

Maybe Adam Daigle or Wes Schneider will spill the beans, but I would not count on it.

There is definitely some crunch in this book, though a lot of the emphasis is history and adventure hooks. I wrote a new Thassilonian monster for it, for instance.

This Homunculus thing has gotten totally out of control.

The editor on this was quite sharp, I think, but more eyes are always good at the proofing stage.
