Just as a note, Golariopedia is the renamed old, outdated, no-longer-updated version of PathfinderWiki, which is still quite active and up-to-date. Perhaps that was Hitler's problem?
The main rules to keep in mind are:
1) Put the content in your own words and be sure to credit the source you pulled it from so others can fact check. Don't just copy and paste verbatim from a Paizo sourcebook.
2) Only add art that is part of the Community Use Policy and not an image taken from one of your pdfs.
As long as you follow both those rules, any additions or contributions to the wiki are welcome and appreciated!

Huh. Well then, that's an error that someone should fix then.
Luckily, literally anyone who wants to can edit PathfinderWiki, so if there's a person who holds this issue near and dear to his or her heart, the project's a'waitin'!
Until then, WIKI WIKI WIKI!!!
What Cpt Kirstov said.
PathfinderWiki will continue as normal, except we'll be hosting the site privately instead of on the wikia community. Their handling of the switch to the new skin and some of their focus on Wikia as a whole over individual projects has led the PathfinderWiki admins to feel that a move to something we control is in the best interest of the site. As such, please make any additional edits or contributions to the site at pathfinderwiki.com, not the one at pathfinder.wikia.com.
Because we can't actively delete content from the wikia hosted site, we have to hope the move doesn't completely split the community, but that's a risk we take. As it stands, there are only a handful of really active members, and all of them will be moving to the new site. Over time, the hope is that the wikia site becomes outdated due to lack of active editors. Only time will tell, however.

Wow, free pdfs of all Pathinder products? I hope regional coordinators use these to update PathfinderWiki. It's a great free resource for new PFS players and something I always recommend to newbies who want to find out more about the world. I might be a bit biased, though.
The wiki has an image map of the Inner Sea map on the Geography portal, but it does not list specific adventure locations. We're currently in the process of organizing adventures into categories by location, but it's still an ongoing project far from being complete. Any help in this endeavor would be much appreciated if it's something particular users really want to see.
Joshua J. Frost wrote: Great Wiki links, though! Thanks for putting that together. +1. We're always looking for people willing to jump in headfirst and add useful content to the wiki. I hope your contributions to the project won't end here, Zizazat.
Cpt_kirstov wrote: (we do have "sourcebooks set in X" categories, but they arn't limited to PFS adventures) Really? When was this implemented? :-P
Have you looked for these images on the Wiki? We've already got many of them credited. No sense in you redoing all our hard work. In the case of this one, it was Kevin Chin for Imaginary Friends Studios.
Hey Charles, I bet you already saw it, but I thought I'd point out to you the promotion going on at the wiki right now. Since you're scouring the CS for details, you might as well try to get a few chances to win free stuff from Paizo.
Check out the new polls feature at PathfinderWiki, beginning with the obligatory "favorite iconic" question. Right now it's a four way tie; jump in and determine which iconic may be featured in future wiki content! vote here!

You can also always find a list of all articles in a given book on PathfinderWiki.
Enevhar Aldarion wrote: However, the Pathfinder wiki may have all the descriptions, so you can try there if you do not have access to a book you need. The PathfinderWiki is limited to canon flavor, and we have a no crunch policy, so it's not the place to go for mechanics. If you are looking for information on a nation or religion which may be part of your PC's background, we can help you there.
Dark_Mistress wrote: Don't get me wrong I love the monsters in the AP's and other places but it is already starting to get to be a bit of a pain to remember what book they are all in. i am just thinking what it will be like in another year or two years and trying to remember which AP had the monster I wanted to use. Know what I mean? Have you considered using an online resource like the PathfinderWiki to help you quickly find the monster you're looking for? It doesn't include stats but it would tell you what book and page number to go to.
Most of the deities' articles on the wiki were written under 3.5 rules, so the old cleric alignment restriction applied at the time those sidebars were created. We will probably go back and change them all once there is a clear ruling from Paizo that the neutral cleric restriction was removed.
Cpt_kirstov wrote: Because the Eagle Knights final line was just outside the Vale, many of the buildings housed refugees (the orphanage and one of the taverns both mention housing refugees from towns attacked by the horde You're writing the article on the wiki on this topic, I assume?
James Jacobs wrote: I actually agree here... I like to re-use elements now and then from one volume to another, but it's tough to track. We're getting some new interns next week, though, and one of the projects I'd love to have them work on is to go through all of the books we've done and make indices of new monsters, feats, spells, magic items, prestige classes, whatever, that can be searched, and then I'd love to have those online somewhere. You know, we've done a lot of this on the wiki and I know that Paizo has a few wiki accounts floating around out there for interns to use for this purpose. Just sayin' is all.
Also, any non Paizo people who would also like these comprehensive resources/indexes should really consider contributing something to the wiki. Every little bit makes it a better resource for yourself and other users in the future.

James Sutter wrote: There was a brief but deadly outbreak of fire cancer in the Grand Lodge in early 4909, possibly as a result of something somebody brought back from a mission. Clerics were called in, and it was quickly hushed up to avoid a panic, but several notable Pathfinders were claimed, including Janiff. Is this explanation canon?

James Jacobs wrote: Damon Griffin wrote: James Jacobs wrote:
The Mordant Spire isn't actually a part of Azlant. It's part of Avistan, but is the closest point on Avistan to Azlant.
You can see why this Wiki entry on Azlant would lead to confusion:
"The island of Mordant Spire, on the far western edge of Varisia, remains as one of the few remnants of this once great continent."
I can indeed.
If we've mentioned in print that the Mordant Spire was actually once part of Azlant, I'm relatively certain that's an error... likely because we probably wrote that before we had a map of the Inner Sea region to reference.
I would just like to pop in here to remind everyone that the PathfinderWiki is a resource which anyone can edit, including those of you who aren't registered (though I don't know why you wouldn't register for the wiki just to get rid of the ads). So if these sorts of clarifications or confusions pop up, feel free to make changes to the related articles as necessary. Every little bit makes it easier for the next user. Just be sure to cite your references!

Could you have them create an "official" continuity site that your authors could reference to help them keep up?
Have you seen the work being done on the PathfinderWiki?
Masika wrote: There is something I wanted to discuss for a time - Appendix A.
What a fabulous idea. The only problem is that it gets dated very quickly. Why not have a page here where the modules and adventure paths locations can be kept. Would this be something for the Wiki?
I think that's an excellent idea. You have a free account on the wiki, right? Get crackin'!

Goblin Witchlord wrote: Watcher, really, I know exactly what you mean. That role is missing. It needs to be filled.
Which is why I was glad to stumble on the seugathi in the Pathfinder Wiki, and definitely plan to pick up "Into the Darkness"; about the right CR and theme. If it doesn't do what I want, I can beat it into shape.
I know this wasn't the point of your post, and it was made 50+ posts ago, but it warms the cockles of my monstrous heart to hear that information you found on the wiki has inspired you to further investigate the setting with a book purchase. When you get the book, or with what you already have, consider contributing to the community and making some additions of your own so the next person looking for something knows what book to go look in for more info.
Also, Wes, you should make a wiki monster that absorbs knowledge from all it's victims, combines similarly themed factoids and then poos them out at the next band of adventurers to inspire them to go adventure in some other remote part of the world, in a different book.
This is great. Now when people come onto the PathfinderWiki asking us why we don't host this stuff we can simply say "we don't but this site over here does" and send them your way. We'll be sure to link to you in our FAQ. It'd be awesome if you could do the same when people inquire about where to put articles or artwork of actual canon.

You might also check out the PathfinderWiki if you're looking for history, maps and other general information. We're working hard to make it the most comprehensive resource for information on the setting, but until we get caught up, the Campaign Setting hardcover is still probably your best bet.
Good find, Watcher. Someone sounds like they'd be a great contributor to the wiki with those fact-finding skillz.

Once you do get the book(s) feel free to create a account and help us flesh it out! Right now it is the work of about a half dozen of us*, and we have over 1250 articles, imagine if more people contributed. As a community effort, the wiki is only ever as strong as the contributions made by its members. For whatever reason, there are only a handful of people who have contributed on a regular basis with large, useful additions. As long as there are just a few of us working on the wiki, it will never be as good as it can be. So if you'd like to see it as a more thorough resource, drop on by and contribute any way you can!
And once you're thoroughly read all the information on the illustious Knights, you can add a recap of this info to the PathfinderWiki so the next person coming along trying to piece it all together can gain the benefit of your work!
Zuxius wrote: Funny you should mention that. We at Pathfinder Chronicler will be attempting to figure that one out too. We will be helping to bring Wikipedia up-to-date on all things Qadira in the weeks to come. And once Wikipedia is done, we will make a conservative attempt to fill in the blanks on our site. The new AP: Legacy of Fire might also find itself in Qadira somehow (though that is a guess), so there is a lot to look forward to in that department.

Just a note for clarification. The PathfinderWiki linked to above is not affiliated with Wikipedia. Please join us and edit it, everyone!

More specifically, look here. And if you make any NPC/monster conversions that aren't up there now, feel free to add them. At this point it's just the first adventure and a half that are covered thoroughly.
Snorter wrote: Did you get the word from Vic, to resolve what community stuff was OK to post?
I had links to several PF wikis and fan-sites, whose addresses no longer work, don't know if this was one of them.
We were in contact with a number of people from Paizo when the wiki was started, but like everyone else we are awaiting the official fansite policy. And yes, the PathfinderWiki is still around. Perhaps the other sites took themselves down because they couldn't compete with us?
hmarcbower wrote: Thank you for posting these. :) I'm just about to start this AP, and am scouring the boards for information for either helping to run it or convert it to Pathfinder Beta rules. I appreciate your work on this! Keep in mind that the PathfinderWiki has many NPCs and monsters from 3.5 Pathfinder adventures compiled in the PRPG portal. Most are from RotR, but if you find or make any conversions, adding them to the wiki for other GMs to easily access would be of great help to everyone. Best of luck!

Any of the art (or at least most of it) from the blog is also on the PathfinderWiki, and we're working on getting them all sorted and categorized for easy searching. If you like databases, I bet you'd love to help!

It's becoming a great resource, but it's only ever going to be as good as we, the fan community make it. We're trying hard not to tread on too much IP, and the citations we're implementing in every article. If you're liking what you see so far, please contribute to the wiki in any way possible. I have big plans for this site, but it's a lot of work for the small group of people currently working on it. Your assistance is certainly welcome!

Savage_ScreenMonkey wrote: Im going to try and post it to the pathfinder wiki once I figure out how to do it. I just signed up and have never done anything like that before. Hell, I didnt even realize their was a pathfider wiki!
Currently the list dosent include the pathfinder society stuff since I dont have anything from that yet. The list I wrote up is alphabetized, but I would also like to do a version by CR and another by creature type.
The wiki doesn't really have a place for a single list, as this just adds another page that has to be updated every time a new monster is published, and these things tend to get overlooked and then lag several months or longer behind. The way we're handling it is that each new monster's individual article can be categorized by type, CR, environment, etc, so that you can search them by any given criteria, and no one has to maintain a running list of each searchable category. The best way to help get this list up to speed is to create articles for any monsters that don't have them yet, (which is quite a few). If you have questions on how to do this, you can drop me a line in the wiki messageboards here. (It's probably best to keep detailed wiki instructions and discussion off the main Paizo boards for clutter's sake.)
Edit: here is the current list of searchable criteria for creatures on the wiki, but note that not all the new monsters which have appeared in the pages of Pathfinder yet have articles, and thus, are not included in these categories.
Hello Pathfinder community! At the PathfinderWiki, we have several featured articles each month in a number of categories and I wanted to open suggestions on what to feature to all of you. The categories are Religion, Magic, Geography and Sourcebooks. For a list of past featured articles, check here. Is there something you think people should see? Something you think needs to have its entry expanded? Your suggestions can help determine what articles will be seen by the most wiki visitors and which will thus have the most additions and edits made to them.
Your feedback counts. Help us make the PathfinderWiki the best resource it can be!
You might consider adding these to the [PathfinderWiki as we're compiling a searchable database of conversions of pre-Aug'09 statblocks to live there to help people both during the playtest and after. If you have questions on where or how to do so (if it's even something you're interested in) we have a forum dedicated just to the wiki here.
fray wrote: People need to put in some kind of contact info with the Pins. Otherwise we cannot get into contact.
Awesome idea and cool map. We need this to go on the wiki too.
That, my friend, is an excellent idea.
Erik Mona wrote: We'll consider it, but it's not something we're planning for the immediate (or even near) future. Put me, and the rest of us at the PathfinderWiki on this petition as well. Getting some little kickback from Paizo for directing sales here could certainly help us with site upkeep costs, etc.
Anyone interested in 4e (or PRPG or True20 or whatever) conversions for this or any other Pathfinder product, we are compiling information to produce unofficial pdf downloads from the PathfinderWiki. Head to the Messageboard (from either the Community Portal or the bottom of the Main Page) and you'll see these forums. Once we have conversions for a whole product, we'll format it and move them to the wiki itself.
