About Whisper Blueflame

(character sheet deleted)

==DESCRIPTION==

Spoiler:

Background
Whisper was the unwanted offspring of one Ferelda Blueflame, a wizard of Waterdeep who was seduced by a half-fiend in a pact-gone-wrong. While Ferelda never physically harmed her child, she was not a kindly mother--and Whisper's own innate sense of chaos and curiosity did not endear her to Ferelda either. Whisper constantly got into her mother's wizarding things she wasn't supposed to (only occasionally resulting in explosions), and read all the books she was forbidden to read--largely to understand herself and where she came from. Their relationship worsened as Whisper got older, and in her early adolescence, she ran away to seek solace in the streets.

For protection and training, she joined a thieves guild known as the Violet Shadow, a local coastal guild specializing in infiltration and the information trade. She was fortunate--while certainly not an upfront or righteous organization, the Violet Shadow did its best to avoid unnecessary violence and had no interest in assassination or other such dark matters, and she could have done much worse for a mentoring organization.

Rumors spread by the Violet Shadow sparked Whisper's imagination and curiosity as much as the tales she'd read in the books forbidden her; the life of adventure appealed to her more than being a lower ranking member of the guild, where she did little more than pick pockets and gather street rumors. She picked up several of Volo's Guides off a book stall one day, and her interest in adventuring as stoked much further. Why remain a petty thief when she could just go places where angels feared to tread, write about it, and become rich and famous? Travel and adventure seemed far more exciting and lucrative, so she set out to seek how to get into the business.

Personality
Whisper is innately very curious and drawn to trouble. She enjoys chaos and takes delight in situations many others would find stressful, and grows quickly impatient when she is not in the thick of things. While she lacks compassion, she is not cruel, as some might expect of a woman with demonic heritage. Despite on the surface being a woman of action, she inherited her mother's lust for learning and keeps in her mind a random repository of facts about local adventures, her planar heritage, and a number of other random subjects. She prays to Tymora, the Goddess of Luck, to help find her fortune in the world, and acts accordingly knowing that fortune favors the bold. She also puts a few coins in the donation bin for Oghma, god of knowledge, and sometimes Mask, lord of thieves.

Appearance
Whisper is petite but quite athletic from years of clambering up and down the walls and rooftops of Waterdeep. As long as she keeps her mouth shut, she looks like a fairly average human, with unkempt platinum blonde hair and gray eyes. When she smiles, however--what a smile: it's full of jagged, pointed teeth, the physical sign of her distant fiendish ancestry. She also speaks in a harsh rasp that can be no louder than a stage whisper, hence her nickname (the name her mother gave her has long been left behind).

Her fortunes earned with the thieves of the City of Splendors have earned her to keep her leathers in good repair; she carries a short sword at each hip (like many Waterdhavians, she prefers the art of fighting with two blades) as well as a bandolier of shining daggers--unafraid to show her capability of defending herself. She knows enough about the world that most folks' default response to her will be hostility, and she has no problem answering that reaction with same.
